The document discusses project monitoring procedures for construction supervision. It emphasizes the importance of monitoring project performance, completed structures, and progress accomplishment. Project monitoring involves validating contractors' reports, inspecting completed and ongoing site works, and using tools like straight line diagrams to track physical and billable progress over time.
2. 2
PROJECT MONITORING
- In Construction Supervision, project
monitoring is the procedures/methods
wherein it involves work projection and
accomplishment within the period of time
specified in the contract agreement.
6. 6
• Project performance
- Compliance with
- the Technical Specifications
- the approved Methodology
- the required documentation/reporting
- Works ahead of schedule/plan
- Quality Assurance (workmanship)
PROJECT MONITORING
7. 7
• Completed structures/works?
- Reporting from the contractors needs to be
validated and/or inspected by the CS Team
- A straight line diagram can be used as tool for
monitoring and validating reported completed
as well as on-going site works

• Progress accomplishment?
• Physical
- This is the work of items completed at site subject
for validation, testing and quality assurance
• Billable
- This is the work of items completed at site that are
already validated, passed testing and quality
assurance

PROJECT MONITORING
• Importance of weather/rainfall data
monitoring:
- During the unfavorable weather condition at site, this tools are
for requesting work suspensions and extension of time (EOT), if
necessary.
- A justification for the slippages incurred in the work
implementations
- An attachment of weekly and monthly progress reports
19. 19
PROJECT MONITORING
• Rainfall Data Monitoring
A rain gauge is provided for the monitoring, however
for validation, may use the Philippine Real-Time
Environment Data Acquisition and Interpretation for
Climate-Related Tragedy Prevention and Mitigation
(PREDICT) and take note this:
- Rainfall reading is based on the Philippine Real-Time
Environment Data Acquisition and Interpretation for
Climate-Related Tragedy Prevention and Mitigation
(PREDICT) at ________________________ in
cooperation of three (3) government agencies: ASTI,
PAG-ASA and DOST.

• Straight Line Diagram (SLD) – preparation is
not only of the contractor but as well as the
CS Team to validate if the Contractor’s report
is realistic/factual.

Editor's Notes
What is the relation of monitoring to reporting?
It varies with each other. Monitor then report, report is based in the monitoring=factual reporting
What are the benefits/importance of monitoring for reporting?
Can produce factual reporting
Can prevent enormous problem, because of updating can figure out problems and solutions
Can achieve targets schedule

(PREDICT is a nationwide system that is meant to complement the existing observation capability of PAGASA. It consists of a network of automated weather stations that gather and transmit observation data to a central server through the cellular network. Each observation station is a rugged device equipped with sensor for the various required parameter such as temperature, pressure, humidity, wind directions, wind speed and rainfall. It is also equipped with a GSM/GPRS modem to transmit data to the central server.)
