• CAPACITY BUILDING
SME-University Internship Programmer
 SMEs to the universities as part of the Government efforts
to enhance the synergy between the industry and university
to upgrade the SMEs’ capacity and capability
• DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS FOR RATING
SME Competitiveness Rating for Enhancement (SCORE)
 provides a gauge to measure the competitiveness and
capabilities of companies at firm level. SCORE has also
been used as a tool for business matching purposes for
better market access as well as initial indicator for
purposes of access to finance
• Brand Development
 Branding and Packaging Mobile Gallery
increase their awareness on the importance of branding and
packaging, as well as, to provide them with training on
branding and packaging. Also provide workshop on branding
and packaging to SMEs across the country. Relevant agencies
such as SIRIM, DDEC, MyIPO and FMM were invited as
collaborators and speakers.
• Financing Gateway
 Shariah Compliant SME Financing Scheme (SSFS) 2.0
To provide financing assistance to eligible Malaysian SMEs
whereby the Government of Malaysia has agreed to pay 2%
(percentage point) of the profit rate charged on the financing
provided by Participating Financial Institutions.
• Outreach
 Digital Free Trade Zone (DFTZ)
The DFTZ is an initiative to capitalise on the confluence
and exponential growth of the internet economy and cross-
border eCommerce activities.
The DFTZ was set up to facilitate seamless cross-border
trade and enable local businesses to export their goods
with a priority for eCommerce.

 Enterprise 50 (E50) Award
a prestigious award programme that recognizes the
achievements of Malaysia's enterprising small and medium
enterprises (SMEs), which are well positioned for the
future. on their financial capabilities, operations and
management competencies, among the nominations
received.
• Technology & Innovation
1-InnoCERT Certification Programmer
to promote and develop innovative companies in Malaysia
as endorsed by the Jawatankuasa Tindakan Penyelarasan
Inovasi Negaraand the National Innovation Council,
chaired by the Prime Minister on 29th October 2009. It is
aimed at fostering innovative enterprise through harnessing
and intensifying home-grown innovations and R&D.test

A broad impact initiative to build an entrepreneurial community and
content nationwide using social media. It is driven by the
movement’s online presence, a regularly updated website and
Facebook page highlighting articles on new ideas and
developments relevant to youth.

bring together entrepreneurial minded people and SMEs to share
their experiences and gain practical knowledge that can be
instantaneously used in their businesses. The focus is on peer-to-
peer inspiration, partnership and learning rather than having a one-
way speaker-audience talk.
o RISE Workshops
are designed to convert non-entrepreneurs into entrepreneurs;
teach existing entrepreneurs skills and techniques to optimise costs
and increase profits;

is designed for the RISE community through business
book discussions for entrepreneurs who do not have the

SNAPSHOT ON MINIMUM WAGES
POLICY
• The government announced Minimum Wages
policy on 30 April 2012 to address labour market
distortions are wage growth did not
commensurate with productivity growth.
• Starting 1 July 2016, the current Minimum
Wages:
 RM1000 per month minimum wage for Peninsular
Malaysia.
 RM920 per month minimum wages for Sabah,
Sarawak & Federal Territory of Labuan.

POLICY
• Local and foreign workforce covered
under this policy, except for domestic
helpers and gardeners.
• Malaysian workers
No deferment for Malaysian workers.
Minimum Wages apply as stipulated in the
minimum Wages Order 2012.

POLICY
• Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)
Minimum Wages impact SMEs that employ
low-skilled workers and lack of automation.
Blanket deferment for foreign workers until 31
December 2013.
No salary deductions for levy, accommodation
and for any other benefits.
• Non-SMEs
May make individual deferment applications to
the Council before 30 June 2013.
OBJECTIVE OF MINIMUM WAGES
POLICY
• Ensure basic needs of workers and
families are met.
• Provide sufficient social protection.
• Encourage industries to move up the
value chain by investing in higher
technology and to increase labour
productivity.
• Reduce dependence on foreign workers.
CONCLUSION
 In conclusion, we can find out about managing SME
Corporation as the main reference point for research
and dissemination of information on SMEs as well as
providing advisory services for SMEs in Malaysia how
to handle small cooperatives by helping through
infrastructure access to financing, financial
restructuring, coordination of advisory, information,
training and marketing, and as a comprehensive SME
database to monitor the progress of SMEs in all
economic sectors. SME Corp. Malaysia has established
partnerships and partnerships with industry
associations and strategic partners from both the
public and private sectors to strengthen cooperation in
specific sectors and industries to support and promote
the development of SMEs in Malaysia.

SME PROGRAM • CAPACITY BUILDING SME-University Internship Programmer  SMEs to the universities as part of the Government efforts to enhance the synergy between the industry and university to upgrade the SMEs’ capacity and capability • DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS FOR RATING SME Competitiveness Rating for Enhancement (SCORE)  provides a gauge to measure the competitiveness and capabilities of companies at firm level. SCORE has also been used as a tool for business matching purposes for better market access as well as initial indicator for purposes of access to finance
  • 6. • Brand Development  Branding and Packaging Mobile Gallery increase their awareness on the importance of branding and packaging, as well as, to provide them with training on branding and packaging. Also provide workshop on branding and packaging to SMEs across the country. Relevant agencies such as SIRIM, DDEC, MyIPO and FMM were invited as collaborators and speakers. • Financing Gateway  Shariah Compliant SME Financing Scheme (SSFS) 2.0 To provide financing assistance to eligible Malaysian SMEs whereby the Government of Malaysia has agreed to pay 2% (percentage point) of the profit rate charged on the financing provided by Participating Financial Institutions.

SNAPSHOT ON MINIMUM WAGES POLICY • The government announced Minimum Wages policy on 30 April 2012 to address labour market distortions are wage growth did not commensurate with productivity growth. • Starting 1 July 2016, the current Minimum Wages:  RM1000 per month minimum wage for Peninsular Malaysia.  RM920 per month minimum wages for Sabah, Sarawak & Federal Territory of Labuan.
  • 22. SNAPSHOT ON MINIMUM WAGES POLICY • Local and foreign workforce covered under this policy, except for domestic helpers and gardeners. • Malaysian workers No deferment for Malaysian workers. Minimum Wages apply as stipulated in the minimum Wages Order 2012.

SNAPSHOT ON MINIMUM WAGES POLICY • Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Minimum Wages impact SMEs that employ low-skilled workers and lack of automation. Blanket deferment for foreign workers until 31 December 2013. No salary deductions for levy, accommodation and for any other benefits. • Non-SMEs May make individual deferment applications to the Council before 30 June 2013.
  • 24. OBJECTIVE OF MINIMUM WAGES POLICY • Ensure basic needs of workers and families are met. • Provide sufficient social protection. • Encourage industries to move up the value chain by investing in higher technology and to increase labour productivity. • Reduce dependence on foreign workers.

Malaysia has established partnerships and partnerships with industry associations and strategic partners from both the public and private sectors to strengthen cooperation in specific sectors and industries to support and promote the development of SMEs in Malaysia.
