A presentation on Rogation Sunday - The 6th Sunday of Easter. This includes the importance of care of the environment and perspectives on the Ascension as part of the paschal mystery
2. Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your Name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those
who sin against us.
Save us from the time of trial,
and deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power,
and the glory are yours,
now and for ever. Amen.

BOOK OF COMMON PRAYER PAGE 42
3. 1 Come, Holy Ghost, our souls inspire
and lighten with celestial fire;
thou the anointing Spirit art,
who dost thy sevenfold gifts impart.
2 Thy blessed unction from above
is comfort, life, and fire of love;
enable with perpetual light
the dullness of our blinded sight.
3 Anoint and cheer our soiled face
with the abundance of thy grace
keep far our foes, give peace at home
where Thou art guide no ill can come
4 Teach us to know the Father, Son,
and thee, of both, to be but one;
that through the ages all along
this may be our endless song:
5 Praise to thy eternal merit,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Amen.

4. PSALM27:1-7
Psalm 27 Dominus illuminatio
1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom then shall I
fear?*
the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom then shall I be
afraid?
2 When evildoers came upon me to eat up my flesh, *
it was they, my foes and my adversaries, who stumbled
and fell.
3 Though an army should encamp against me, *
yet my heart shall not be afraid;
4 And though war should rise up against me, *
yet will I put my trust in him.
5 One thing have I asked of the Lord;
one thing I seek; *
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days
of my life;
6 To behold the fair beauty of the Lord *
and to seek him in his temple.
7 For in the day of trouble he shall keep me safe
in his shelter; *
he shall hide me in the secrecy of his dwelling
and set me high upon a rock.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son* and to the Holy Spirit
As it was in the beginning, is now* and shall be forever. Amen
6. Collect
for the 6th Sunday of Easter
O God, you have prepared for
those who love you such good
things as surpass our
understanding: Pour into our
hearts such love towards you,
that we, loving you in all things
and above all things, may
obtain your promises, which
exceed all that we can desire;
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you
and the Holy Spirit, one God,
for ever and ever. Amen.

Almighty God, Lord of heaven
and earth: We humbly pray that
your gracious providence may
give and preserve to our use
the harvests of the land and of
the seas, and may prosper all
who labor to gather them, that
we, who are constantly receiving
good things from your hand,
may always give you thanks;
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you
and the Holy Spirit, one God, for
ever and ever. Amen

16. Ascension Day
… when Jesus and the disciples had come
together, they asked him, "Lord, is this the
time when you will restore the kingdom to
Israel?” He replied, "It is not for you to know
the times or periods that the Father has set
by his own authority. But you will receive
power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you;
and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in
all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the
earth.” When he had said this, as they were
watching, he was lifted up, and a cloud took
him out of their sight. While he was going and
they were gazing up toward heaven, suddenly
two men in white robes stood by them. They
said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking
up toward heaven? This Jesus, who has been
taken up from you into heaven, will come in the
same way as you saw him go into heaven.”
Acts 1: 6 - 11

17. Grant, we pray, Almighty God,
that as we believe your only-
begotten Son our Lord Jesus
Christ to have ascended into
heaven, so we may also in
heart and mind there ascend,
and with him continually
dwell; who lives and reigns
with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
