• The oxford companion to music defines music review as the intellectual activity
of formulating judgments on the value and degree of excellence of individual
works of music or whole groups or genres. Music is the most difficult art to
criticize.
•There are three types of music review namely
 performance review
recording review
 composition review.
• The main purpose of the review is to
present your opinion
 to show your attitude towards the music.

6. MUSIC REVIEWER
The music reviewer
 should be free minded.
should listen to the original music before reviewing the music.
should consider both the first impression of the music and the impression of the
music after listening to that several times.
should be clear with the subject he is going to review.
 should also know about the artist/band/performers.
should evaluate the vocal music.
 should not write the review with prejudice.
 should be patient enough to critically analyze the music.

7. MUSIC REVIEWS
should not possess terms such as you, your and I.
Should not have any clichés.
 should different adjectives.
 should have a catchy or descriptive title to gain attention of the reader.
should not contain slang and colloquial expression.
