• Maruti Suzuki India Limited, formerly known as Maruti Udyog
Limited, is a publicly listed automaker in India.
• Suzuki motor corporation of Japan holds a majority stake in the
company.
• It was the first company in India to mass produce and sell more than a
million cars.
• The company’s first car for India, named as the Maruti 800, instead of
the Alto. This small hatchback had revolutionized the Indian car
market.
