INTRODUCTION
Microsoft (MS) Excel is a powerful spreadsheet that is easy to use and allows you to store, manipulate,
analyze, and visualize data. The first version of Excel was released for the Mac in 1985 and the first
Windows version was released in November 1987. Lotus was slow to bring 1-2-3 to Windows and by
1988 Excel had started to outsell 1-2-3 and helped Microsoft achieve the position of leading PC software
developer. It is a versatile program present on most computers at home and in computer clusters. It is a
business tool for accounting and managing large sets of data. It can also simplify graphing and analyzing
data from the labs. Excel is a massive application with 1000s of features and 100s of ribbon (menu)
