This thermal imaging report documents issues found in a home inspection and provides recommendations. Several issues are highlighted, including missing insulation in bedrooms and kitchens allowing cold air to enter, plumbing leaks detected in basements, and improperly sealed ventilation ducts and doors allowing air exchange. The inspector recommends addressing issues like these by improving insulation, sealing air gaps, and monitoring problem areas.

Cold area in the ceiling due to the dryer exhaust vent passing
through ceiling cavity and exiting outside. The duct/exhaust
vent is not properly sealed outside causing cold air to enter
the home.
Recommend insulation duct and sealing vent with caulking to
prevent cold air entering the home. This situation may create
condensation in the exhaust vent and cause a small leak in
the ceiling.

There are a possibility of 3 to 4 problems in one picture.
The bay window extrudes from the kitchen area and is outlined with the red arrow on the digital picture.
1. The plug on the wall is leaking air.
2. Bay window floor insulation is sagging and not touching floor sheathing rendering it ineffective.
3. There is a dryer exhaust venting underneath the bay window. It might not be properly sealed allowing cold air to enter floor
cavity.
4. Poor insulation at the rim joist area (left side of picture) allowing the cold to infiltrate the home and causing cold floors.
Recommend investigating under bay window and removing old insulation and look for gaps or voids and fill them as
necessary. Reinstall new insulation and secure it properly making sure it will keep in contact with the floor for a long period of
time. And also make sure proper air vapor barrier is in place.
End of report.
