A Heart's Life Laid Bare, an exploration of agape love that spans beyond all ...
Nightmares, By Chandler Masters
1. We all have our nightmaresThat keep us awake at night Fears, that rule our day
2. When we were little It was the bogyman under our bed As we grow, the rumors and lies Our friends can spread Older still, it becomes the guilt Of what we do when no one is around What we watch when we cant get caught What we think when our spouse is no where to be found
3. You know they are there Lurking in the shadows Waiting, trying to make you fall But, you’re so tough Saying to yourself you can win
4. But when the lights go off They pounce like a lion on his prey And seize you by the chains Made of your own guilt and pride
5. And you realize the fears You had as a child Are nothing compared to the Demons That possess You now
6. They consume your heart Till you can’t love anymore Fill your mind Till you can’t think past them They sap your strength And steal your soul To give to their King of Lies
7. And when all hope is gone You look back and see The star that kept the darkness at bay The comforting voice among the accusing The outstretched hand When others were chaining you
8. It’s your choice as it was mine Stand and lose Or lean on the One who created and defeated them I know which one I’d take How ‘bout you
