Excessive alcohol consumption can lead to alcoholic liver disease by damaging liver cells and affecting liver function. Early symptoms include dry mouth, abdominal pain, jaundice, weight loss and lack of appetite. More advanced alcoholic liver disease can result in cirrhosis, which causes complications like spider angiomas, enlarged breast tissue in men, and trembling hands.
