WORD PROBLEM
Angelo‘s teacher asks her 30 students about their
sports after school.They say that they can play one or
more of the sports basketball, football, and volleyball.
Two students say that they play none of the sports.
The teacher also finds out that:
1)14 play football
2)Angelo and 2 others play all 3 sports
3)15 play volleyball, 4 play football and volleyball and 7
play volleyball and basketball only.
Questions
•1. Show on the diagram the given information that 3
students play all 3 sports.
Answer :

•2. Using this information and item 3, find how
many students play volleyball only?
•Answer: 1 student
•3. If 2 students play football only, how many
students play basketball and football only?
•Answer: 5 students
•4. How many students play basketball only?
