ODT Australis (now Toll Mining Services SA) were initially engaged by the APY Executive followed by the Department
of Planning, Transport & Infrastructure to complete two minor civil works projects at Indulkana and Amata.
TheIndulkanaworksinlcudedwombatcrossingsandspeedhumpswithadditionalstreetsignsandlinemarkings. Duringthe
projects,threelocalemployeeswereengagedwithODTAustralisissuinganexcavatorandbackhoelicencetooneofthelocal
participants.
TheAmataworksincludedtheconstructionofspeedhumps,associatedsignageandschoolcrossings. Duringtheproject,four
localemployeeswereengaged,withexcavatorandbackhoelicencesbeingissuedtoatotalofsixlocalparticipants.
As testament to our commitment in building the local community’s skill base, Indigenous employees held roles ranging from
sitesupervisors,machineoperatorsandtrafficcontrollers.
