Shoptimization
- 1. “Shoptimization” Task List
If there is a lull in the action in the shop, take a look at this list to see what you could be doing to keep busy. These
tasks are small things that benefit the shop and our team as a whole.
Keeping things clean and neat makes life easier for all those involved.
This list is based on:
Relative benefit of completion
Frequency of a task’s occurrence.
1. CHECK THE DAILY MAINTENANCE LISTS
These lists will have the most uptodate information on what needs to be completed.
2. CHECK IN WITH KEL, CHRIS, OR BILL
You checkingin benefits both you and them. Communication is key!!!
3. CHECK WORK AREAS: Work Benches, toolboxes, lift areas, washbay. etc.
a. Fluids on benches
b. toolboxes with open drawers/misplaced tools
c. lifts/surrounding areas dirty
d. dirty rags
e. empty cans/trash
f. extra bolts/nuts (try to find where they came from and place them back there)
g. If something looks important/you’re unsure of where it goes, ASK!!!!
4. CHECK THE SHOP FOR THINGS TO PICK UP
a. Used Rags (in corners, on tables, under tables, they’re everywhere.)
b. Dishes (Spoons & Mugs mainly)
c. Pens & Clipboards (Put in various pen receptacles throughout the shop)
d. Oilfilters/used aerosol cans
5. CHECK THE BREAKROOM
a. Vacuum Carpets
b. Dishes
c. Keys to replace/missing keys from the box
6. CHECK OUR VEHICLES (MATER, SHUTTLE, JIMMY, CIVIC)
a. Outside cleanliness
b. Inside cleanliness
c. Fuel
7. START ON ENDOFDAY CHECKLIST BY BREAKROOM DOOR
a. Many of those items are covered above, but be safe refer to that list too.
REPEAT. THERE IS ALWAYS WAYS TO IMPROVE OUR SPACE!
