2. Day 2.
I enjoyed a nice lie-in. I tried so hard to get up but the
bed I was in was far too comfy. But luckily for me I
wasn’t the only one that didn’t wake up until later. The
whole family felt the same way. After a lazy morning,
with a cup of tea, we headed back out the door around
11 to explore the city and find breakfast. We headed
to the Anna Blume a café and restaurant. I ordered a
classic croissant served with butter. Yummy! We started
our day sightseeing by getting a taxi to the Berlin wall,
and walked all along the iconic architecture. For me
seeing the historical sites of Berlin was marvellous. It
gave me a chance to be thankful for everything we got,
especially at this time of year. On the way back we
stopped at Europe’s largest department store, to pick up
some small Christmas decorations, so we could place
them around our hotel room for Christmas Day. We
spent way to long in there and I spent way too much
money. But it was truly worth it.
Day 4.
Boxing day was the day we headed back
home; we had so many family members to
see. Although I was looking forward to seeing
them I wish I could have stayed in Germany
longer. It was a fantastic holiday. A Christmas
without stress and worries about whether we
would make the schedule on time, or did the
turkey need cooking longer. We did what we
wanted. It will always stay in my memories as a
Christmas to remember.
Day 1.
We arrived in the German capital of Berlin, at around 10am. We
took an early flight from London, just to reach Germany with
enough time to enjoy as much as we could. Our first plan was
to head back to our hotel the Radisson Blu and settle in. It was
a beautiful hotel and it contained a cylindrical aquarium, which
I didn’t expect. But it was so different to other hotels that it will
always stay in my mind. After a few hours within the hotel, we
left to go exploring the Christmas markets. The hotel was in the
perfect location to several markets in Cologne and it was just
the start to a fantastic Christmas adventure. We saw all the four
fabulous markets Cologne had to offer. On the way back to the
hotel at around 9ish we had tea at the Paparazzi restaurant near
our hotel. It served delicious Italian food. A perfect ending to a
perfect first day.
Day 3.
It’s Christmas Day! I couldn’t contain my excitement. I was
in Germany on Christmas day. And it was brilliant. We spent
the morning in our hotel room, opening the few presents we
did bring. And just enjoying the Christmas atmosphere. We
were lucky enough to have booked a Cologne Rhine River
Christmas dinner cruise. The cruise was a Christmas buffet
and it served so much food, and I still feel stuffed. It went on
for 3 hours and to be traveling on the river, instead of sitting in
a room was really different but a fun. The rest of the day was
spent watching classic Christmas movies, keeping up with our
Christmas traditions. Once the evening came we took our last
trip around the city, looking at the lights and enjoying our last
few hours in Germany.

Every year my family and I spend our
Christmas in the UK, ether round my nans or
at our house.. However this year we thought it
was time for a change so we left the UK and
headed to Germany for a four-day holiday.
We left Heathrow airport on the 23rd of
December arriving later that day. I had a
fantastic trip; one I would recommend so
much I wanted to share my highlights with
you.
