Summary of Relevant Work Experience
My legal practice spans over twenty four (24) years, during which I have
represented and advised a diverse spectrum of international and local clients
including major conglomerates.
The following are some details:
• Currently working as Director/Legal Affairs at Etihad Etisalat Company
(Mobily), the second largest telecom operator in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
I joined Mobily on Aug. 2009.
My duties and assignments in Mobily include:
- Lead and maintain the proper performance of the Legal Department
of all legal activities for the business, provide support and adequately
ensure effective compliance to all laws and regulations and the
mitigation of any possible legal risk.
- Lead activities related to the achievement of the set targets as
planned, monitoring and following-up the performance and
maintaining effective controls to ensure that all necessary legal work
has been properly and timely given.
- Assure the achievement of the planned legal objectives and goals,
tackling and fulfilling demanded interdepartmental needs.
2. - Provide legal counsel and guidance for a broad range of strategically
significant transactions and projects of the company as well as on
other key issues.
- Manage relevant internal and external legal requirements.
- Provide legal support and advice to all organizational units of Mobily
on all legal issues, including contracts and other legal documents
review.
- Participate in company teams and committees in negotiation, review
as well as advising senior management on major business deals with
local and international operators and other key business partners.
- Provide support to the head of Legal Affairs Section in matters
relating to both the Legal Affairs Section as well as on top
management issues.
- Advise on local and regional merger and acquisition deals.
- Set and oversee the best drafting and litigation methodologies
including objectives, scope, strategies, tactics, risk mitigation,
litigation transparency and performance management.
- Lead, develop, inspire and manage the legal team to achieve
business and individual performance objectives.
- Professionally and effectively integrate with all departments at all
levels to provide appropriate legal support, resolve complex legal
issues and ensure achievement of the set goals.
- Interpret and make compliance recommendations with laws, rules,
regulations and policies governing the operations.
• Legal consultant at the Law Firm of Salah AI-Hejailan (LFSH), Riyadh,
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, from March 1999 until July 2009. LFSH is one
of the largest law firms in KSA. The firm held associations and alliances
with a number of the leading international law firms, including Clifford
Chance, Hogan & Hartson and Freshfields Bruckhaus Derringer. It
engages in providing comprehensive service to national and
multinational corporations, financial institutions and governments. My
extensive work experience at LFSH covered business and corporate
laws, insurance laws, labour and employment laws, intellectual property
laws, maritime laws, foreign investment laws, international commercial
and business ventures, shareholders, distribution, agency and franchise
agreements, domestic and international litigation and arbitration.
