This is a short presentation which explains all thing about a flying car. Flying vehicles will be one of the best transportation systems of the future. By going through this ppt you will know about the functionality, and working of a flying car. It also includes what are the different companies that are currently working in this field.

2. Introduction
VTOL is short form of vertical take-off and landing vehicles. It is that vehicles
which is capable of door-to-door aerial transport, conceptually without the
need of special take-off and landing as is required in an aircraft.
Some form of FV will need vertipods for take-off and landing, while other
form can provide the comfort of roadable car, that is known as Flying Car.
3. Pilot modes refer to how the flying cars
are operated and controlled during TOL
and flying.
For this, there are three kinds of control
modes for FVs: Human-piloted (HP), self-
piloted (SP), and hybrid modes.
Pilot Modes - Flexibility
& Comfort
Since various kinds of TOL modes and types of
wings exist, FVs can be endowed with different
operating modes, such as airplane, helicopter,
and hybrid modes.
Operation Modes -
Stability & Complexity
Generally there are for TOL modes: VTOL,
VTHL, HTVL, HTOL. Out of which VTOL is
evidently best choice for flying vehicles.
TOL Modes - Adaptability
Depending on the application purposes,
there are three main power types for flying
cars: electric power, hydrocarbon fuel, and
hybrid power.

Concept behind VTOL
We can discuss the design
of flying vehicles in terms of
the following four aspects:
4. • USA based company working
on the flying car.
• Founded by Five MIT
graduates in 2006.
• Skydrive is a Japanese
company.
• Recently their flying car
flew for 4 minute.
• Electric powered.
• Planning to launch 1st mdel
SD-03 by 2023 in the
japanese market.
• The cost is US$300,000.
Companies working on Flying vehicles - 1
• Driving range is 1000km
and flying range 700km
at single fuling.
• Max speed of 160km/h.
• Powerded by
tubochrged internal
cumbustion engine.
• In Market by by early
2023.
Terrafugia Aeromobile SkyDrive
5. • Lilium is a german company.
They are developing highly
advance flying vehicles taxy.
• Its will be used for intercity
and reginal connectivity.
• lilium is also developing high
class vertipods in different
city, and expanding it's
business to other different
country.
• Jetson is a swedish company
and was founded by Peter
Ternstrom in 2017.
• In 2018 they made their first
protoype and named it Jetson
ONE.
• It is a single seater flying
vehicle.
Companies working on Flying vehicles - 2
• PAL-V was founded in
2008 in Netherland.
• It's world 1st market
ready flying car and can
carry 2 person at a time.
• PAL-V planing to hand
over the first keys of the
PAL-V liberty to
customers by early 2022.

6. One of the biggest problems in
most modern cities is traffic
caused by road vehicles.As flying
cars are phased in, the vehicles
that remain on the land will
hopefully have to compete with
less traffic With traffic being less of
a problem it means fuel can be
used more efficiently
Minimizing
traffic pollution
It has been found that in certain
situations the flying cars reduced
emissions quite dramatically, For a
trip of 100km a fully charged VTOL
with 4 people inside had 52% lower
greenhouse gas emissions than the
average ground-based gasoline-
powered vehicle.
Lower emissions
(over certain distances)
Here when the FVs will
take-off and will land
vertically, there is no
need of long runway. For
these type of vehicles we
need vertipods which will
require very less ground ,
less infrastructure and
hence less money
Vertipods
Today, most cities are still designed
and built around cars and other
ground-based vehicles. If more FV
will be in use, then it will definitely
impact on the ground road
infrastructure.
Less need for on
the ground
infrastructure
They can travel
shorter
distances to
make the same
journey
Save Time
Advantage
7. Design and manufacturing of these
type of vehicles is very complex
and required advance engineering
and advance technology.
Its complexicity, and advance
technology makes it very very
costier.
It cannot be used for a large number
of passengers at a time. Also it can
only be used for shorter distance.
A FV would have to be capable of
safely take-off and landing throughout
havily populated urban area
It produces high pitch sound due to
high rotor speed, but it is not a
permanent porblem and can be solved.
The FV's energy efficiency would be
much lower compared to
conventional cars and other aircrafts.

9. Medical
In medical field This type
of FV can be used for the
transportation of patient
in hurry as Ait ambulance,
or delvery of medicine
and other emergency
services.
Tourism
In tourism FV can be used
for a best air sight-view of
the field, exploring new
places and and best use
for those places where
road transportation is
difficult like kedarnath,
amarnath yatra etc.
Personel Use
Flying Vehicles will
be frequently use
in the same way as
we use bike, and
car nowdays.
Taxi services
Flying taxy can be best
solution for the road traffic,
and to reach our destination in
a very less time than other
transport system.
And it can also used for
transportation of food and
medicine in the tough
situation like lockdown
happens in many countries
during corona-virus pandemic.
Future Prospects
Military
In miltary FV can be
used for the frequent
transportation of
troops, supply of food,
medicine, and other
armed stuffs.
10. I hope these information will help us to predict little bit about
flying mode of future transportation system. This will come in real
life very soon. We might be using this to reach our School, offices,
Hospitals very frequently, and I know this mode of transportation
will help us in so many other ways.
