View Part 2 at http://www.slideshare.net/NancyLeeA/part-1-of-2-frederick-maryland-master-gardener-hedgerow-pawpaw-patch-demonstration-garden. The Frederick Master Gardeners of Frederick County, MD, planted a native hedgerow and pawpaw patch in 2005 to replace an invasive monoculture hedgerow of shrub honeysuckle. This (Part 1) and an accompanying (Part 2) slideshow highlight the history and purpose of the gardens, which are part of the Frederick Master Gardener Demonstration Gardens. Part 1 documents the context and history of the plantings, site preparation and installation, and a few lessons learned. Part 2 highlights many of the plants in the garden and the life they support.
