- rapid tip propagation, relay breaching, and segment linkage→断層長(L)の増加
- propagating fault model (isolated fault mode)
- constant-length fault model
Abstract
結論
背景
目的 propagating fault model
constant-length fault model
- multiple displacement minima along strike of normal faults
The propagating fault model
7. Gawthorpe and Leeder 2000
multiple displacement minima along strike of normal faults
Relay breach
propagating fault model(断層セグメントの拡大と結合により、断層が発達)の根拠となる特徴
8. The propagating fault model
- Global D-L Dataset
Global D-L Dataset
12. Fault behavior in D-L space through time
(Natural faults
Meyer et al. 2002)
(Tvedt et al. 2013, 2016 and Tvedt 2016)
(Blækkan, 2016)
(Schlagenhauf et al. 2008)
13. Fault behaviour in D-L space through time
tip propagation and linkageによる拡大か)
20. Conclusions and future research challenges
20-33% (Walsh et al. (2002) and Jackson et al.
(2017)
30% Schlagenhauf et al. (2008)
ToDo
• Displacement backstripping studies
• Global D-L dataset
Editor's Notes
the occurrence of breached relays and multiple displacement minima along strike of normal faults
theoretical fracture mechanics, which predicts that for a given rock shear strength, displacement and length must increase linearly

断層拡大の停止←mechanical fault interactions between adjacent faults and an associated reduction of tip stresses

T3で breached and abandoned relayした。

(Hatem et al., 2017).
Similar behaviours are seen in experimental
strike-slip fault systems, where establishment of distributed faulting
along the full final-length of the slip zone is near-instant, whereas the
formation and slip localization onto a fully through-going fault occurs
at c. 30–35% of total fault duration ???
