What is Digital Marketing?
Digital marketing can be defined as marketing of product or services through use of digital medium like
Google ads, Facebook ads, Instagram Ads, SEO, Email marketing and more.
What are Websites?
Websites are your company presence in digital world of internet. In this competitive world most of
businesses are turning their presence online through website for future potential growth and thus
opening new channel of acquiring business which can increase revenue.
Websites are built on various platforms like Wordpress, Joomla, PHP, Html and more.
What are keywords
Keywords are the search terms which we want our website or blog to rank for in the search engine.
Keywords are the heart of the SEO or any digital marketing campaign on which we going to work for. Let
us look at an example of keyword.

We searched for keyword “mobile phones under 15000” and result are showing up which can be seen
below. Please do the exercise.
Here as an user we are searching for mobile phone but our budget is 15000 only so we searched for that
specific term and hence it can termed as a keyword.
Keywords types:
 Long tail Keyword
 Short tail keyword
Long tail keyword: This type of keywords can be easily ranked and are more likely to give conversions.
They are specific to user requirement. An example would “best mobile phone under 25000 in india”

Short tail keywords: This keywords are more generic in nature and takes time to rank. Let us look at an
example. We would search “Best Mobile phone”. Please do the exercise.
The result shown for the types would be different. The chance of making an sale is higher in case of long
tail as user is specific about the thing he wants to purchase alongwith budget whereas in case of short
tail it might be random search looking for information.
TIP: Whenever we start a SEO Campaign or Digital marketing Campaign go with Longtail keywords as it
would require less time and result will come up faster.

What is SEO, ON page, OFF page techniques and How to do SEO of a website?
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization.
For understanding Search Engine Optimization we need to first understand what Search Engines are.
Search engines are programs built by companies like Google, Yahoo and Bing. They are directories which
hold data related to different websites or blog in there system with related information of different
niche.
The most popular search engine as we know is Google.
Let us dig deep into how Google works?
E.g. If we search for “Best mobile phone” we get following results as shown in the screenshot below:

Here in the screen we can see results:
1. Results mention as sponsored are paid ads also called as Google ads.
2. Organic results which are not paid but are articles or websites which contain information related
to our search query are displayed below sponsored ads.
This organic result’s which are not paid comes under SEO or Search Engine optimization section of
Digital Marketing.
SEO Types:
1. Local SEO
2. SEO or Generic SEO
3. Images SEO
4. Video SEO
SEO can be done for websites, images and videos also.
TIP: A rule which is needed to be followed is to make good content. If your content is good and easily
readable Google will definitely rank it on 1st
page it is as simple as that.
Local SEO: It is done for business located locally.
e.g. Google search for “Ladies Salon in Mulund”. Please do the exercise.

In the above screen you can see results with Google maps showing result of the Salon located locally in
Mulund. This can help a prospective buyer to contact this salon and fix an appointment. These results
are achieved through local seo strategy. For that you need to register your business on Google my
business page and then Google would send an verification code to verify your business and link your
website or blog page to Google so whenever someone searches query similar to your service your
website or page can be visible. Recommended is to have a website or Facebook page to share content as
said earlier content is the king. So writing and sharing good content would definitely rank your page.
SEO or Generic SEO: For generic terms or keywords
SEO or Generic SEO is type of seo which takes time and effort. You have to build backlinks from high
domain authority websites and also your domain age defines the ranking. An example of a Generic SEO
would be searching for term “cars” here cars is a generic term or keyword. You can see the result below:

Here you can see that we have typed in “cars” in our search console box. It is showing different results
like an article related to cars, Wikipedia page, videos, local car dealer’s information and more. Since it is
generic terms we can see that Google ads are not showing up as it is generic term and articles are giving
a user results related to cars.
Similar do the search for “new cars India” you will see results as seen below:

Images SEO: For images to be ranked
Images play an important role in SEO. Having good HD quality images is must. You need to have a good
image representation along with content to attract traffic to your website.
Always rename your images as your keywords or terms you want to rank for in the Google.

You can see in the above screen we can see ads as we as in Images section watches with high quality
picture and link attach to it redirecting to the seller website. If an user likes an image he or she is liking
to click on it and directed to your website and make an purchase which you what our motto is.

Video SEO: For Videos ranking
Video SEO is great technique if used properly can bring abundance of traffic to our website. Now a day’s
Google gives preference to YouTube videos. YouTube has greatest traffic on the internet after Google. It
is recommended to create a channel and upload videos on YouTube on regular basis. Always mention
your website and keywords in the video title and description so that it can be easily searched and
viewed upon. It is recommended to have short videos which are less than 10 mins duration with
interesting content related to your product or services.
Let us look at example. Here we will search for term “learn cake making”. We can see below result.

SEO Parts:
SEO is divided into 2 parts:
 ON Page
 OFF Page
ON page is defined as changes done to website pages for optimization. ON page is very important, if you
do proper ON page SEO you have won 60% of SEO battle and definitely your website would rank higher
in search engine.
ON Page helps search engine understand what the website is and what it speaks about.
ON Page have 3 parameters:
 Title
 Description
 Keywords
Title: As name suggest it is title of the web page of your website. Each page should have different title
and always make use of your primary keyword in the title of your webpage. Let us look at an example.

As you can see in the above screen. The company is into software development and has software named
as Fixed Asset Management software. Here in the page title they have used their keyword as “Fixed
Asset Management, Asset Tracking, Depreciation Software System in India”.
Title is to written this way in the header section of the webpage.

The title clearly is visible and indicates the search engine that the page is about fixed asset software. In
the above case if someone searches for fixed asset management, fixed asset software India, fixed asset
depreciation India or any it will show this page as result as it answers the user query.
Tile length should be 55 to 60 characters. It should clearly specify your keywords in sentencing format.
Tip: Never stuff keywords in title section of your page, will never rank as it is considered spamming and
Google will penalize your website.
Description:
Description should always be unique and should contain keywords. Each page of website should have
different description. Ideal Description should contain 120 to 125 characters.

Here in this screen we can see description written as ” India’s leading online fixed asset management
software company in Mumbai, India offer Cheque Printing, Gst Bill software, Fingerprint time
attendance machine at affordable prices”.
The description contains a combination of different keywords like fixed asset management software
Mumbai, india, cheque printing software Mumbai and other. But they are not stuffed but are written in
sentence format for user and search engine to easily understand when results appears on the page.
Description is to written this way in the header section of the webpage.

You can use different keywords in title and description of same page this helps in ranking same page for
different keywords.
Keywords: As we have learnt earlier about keywords research same keywords can be used for
mentioning keywords on a webpage.
Keyword density should not be more than 4%. Always use 5 to 7 keywords on a webpage.

In the above screen we can see the keywords mention as "fixed asset management software, asset
tracking software, fixed asset tracking software’s, depreciation software" this are the keywords for
which this page ranks.
Tip: Google doesn’t give importance to keywords whereas other search engine like Yahoo, Bing etc still
consider keywords as one of the ranking factor.
NOTE:
Title: Limit 55 to 60 characters
Description: Limit 120 to 125 characters
Keywords density: Not to be more than 4% on a page
Mention only 5 to 7 keywords on a page for ideal SEO.
Google Webmasters:
Google Webmaster Tools is a free service that helps you evaluate and maintain your website's
performance in search results. Offered as a free service to anyone who owns a website, Google
Webmaster Tools (GWT) is a conduit of information from the largest search engine in the world to you,
offering insights into how it sees your website and helping you uncover issues that need fixing.
You do not need to use GWT for your website to appear in search results, but it can offer you valuable
information that can help with your marketing efforts.

How GWT can help monitor your website's performance
1. It verifies that Google can access the content on your website.
2. GWT makes it possible to submit new pages and posts for Google to crawl and remove content you
don't want search engine users to discover.
3. It helps you deliver and evaluate content that offers users a more visual experience.
4. You can maintain your website without disrupting its presence in search results.
5. It allows you to discover and eliminate malware or spam problems that may not be easily found
through other means.
How GWT helps you understand how Google search views your website
1. It tells you the most popular queries causing your website to appear in search results.
2. It tells you which queries are driving the most traffic.
3. You can see which websites are linking to yours.
4. You can evaluate how well your mobile website is performing for people searching on tablets and
phones.
Let us get started:
1. Go to google and type webmasters
2. Put in your gmail email id and password
3. You will see an page similar to below page:
Here click on add property to add your website. You can add multiple websites using same webmasters
tool. E.g. You can see www.qelocityindia.com is added already.

4. Click on the website it will direct you inside the website here you can view status, no of clicks,
submitted url’s and indexed url’s statistics
5. Click on the menu of crawl and select Fetch as Google and submit all pages of websites
6. Here you can check your robots.txt, sitemap file status

7. Add and test sitemaps so that bots can come to your website and scan for information

Robots.txt file creation:
A robots.txt file is a file at the root of your site that indicates those parts of your site you don’t want
accessed by search engine crawlers. The file uses the Robots Exclusion Standard, which is a protocol
with a small set of commands that can be used to indicate access to your site by section and by specific
kinds of web crawlers (such as mobile crawlers vs desktop crawlers).
Sample robot.txt
A robots.txt file consists of one or more rules. Each rule blocks (or or allows) access for a given crawler
to a specified file path in that website.
Here is a simple robots.txt file with two rules, explained below:
User-agent: *
Allow: /
Disallow:/___________(write webpage url which is not to be searched)
Always name the file as robots.txt and use a text document. It needs to be uploaded to your web server
where website pages are uploaded for hosting.
Open a text file and copy the above code and paste it and save the file as robots.txt.
Please check robots.txt file for any website.

Sitemaps:
A sitemap is a file where you can list the web pages of your site to tell Google and other search engines
about the organization of your site content. Search engine web crawlers like Googlebot read this file to
more intelligently crawl your site.
Also, your sitemap can provide valuable metadata associated with the pages you list in that sitemap:
Metadata is information about a webpage, such as when the page was last updated, how often the page
is changed, and the importance of the page relative to other URLs in the site.
You can use a sitemap to provide Google with metadata about specific types of content on your pages,
including video and image content. For example, you can give Google the information about video and
image content:
 A sitemap video entry can specify the video running time, category, and age appropriateness
rating.
 A sitemap image entry can include the image subject matter, type, and license.
Sitemaps are created to let search engines know about all pages of our website.

Just follow guidelines given on the website and your sitemaps would be created.
Create sitemap and submit it in Google search console.

Tip: Whenever new page or blog is written on website create sitemap and submit updated file to search
console.
Additional Information:
 Content should be unique
 400 words at least on each page minimum
 Make use of keywords in content
 No. of keywords should not be more than 3% in total content
 Use keywords in title, description and urls
 Rename Images with keywords
 Rename videos with keywords
 Create Google business page
 Create Business page on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter
 Use social media icons on websites
 Make mobile friendly websites
 Don’t do keyword stuffing
 Update and write regular blog post on your website with fresh content
 Google loves new and readable content
 FTP: File transfer Protocol ,software is to be used for uploading your website files to hosting
company’s server
 Robots.txt file is to be uploaded to web hosting servers
 Create sitemap.xml file
 Submit your website or new page to search engine through webmasters

OFF Page
OFF page is another important factor in seo of a website. OFF page seo can be termed as building links
to your website from external factors. There are various techniques which we need to learn to do an off
page seo. Lets dive into the off page seo.
Note: Start OFF page activities only after completing ON page.
Technique 1: Directory Submission
Directories are websites were you can submit your website. They are collection of different websites.
Similar to yellow pages in old days when we use to search for information related to business by
referring yellow pages. Google
 Put keywords in title of directory
 Enter description in the description box related to your website
 Make directory submission in related directories recommended
 10-15 per month is ideal scenario

Technique 2: Article Submission
Article submission plays vital role in seo. You need to create and submit unique articles on different
article submission websites.
 Use targeted keyword in your content
 Give proper title and description
 Make sure article is unique and not copy pasted
 Google doesn’t rank pages with duplicate content
 500 minimum words in article
 Use less than 4% density of keyword
 Don’t write ugly
 Write for users and not search engine
 No grammatical or spelling mistake to be made in article
 Create a blog page in website and post articles on it
 Share article on social media pages
 2 articles per month to be written

Social bookmarking is a centralized online service which allows users to add, annotate, edit, and share
bookmarks of web documents. Basically social bookmarking is the website where you can share the
WebPages which interest you and can be found easily by people having similar interest.

Forum Submission is also called as Question & Answer Submission. Most important SEO factor in today’s
SEO world. Replying to a question asked can get good amount of traffic as user might click on your link.
As Google is a search engine it does the same, answer queries. So built Q & A related to your product or
services on Q & A websites.

Off page SEO. It is use to create backlinks of websites. Web 2.0 are publisher type sites that allow its

Web 2.0 submission is technique where you create an image of your website. You just need to post
content on this website similar to your WebPages.

Websites are your company presence in digital world of internet. In this competitive world most of businesses are turning their presence online through website for future potential growth and thus opening new channel of acquiring business which can increase revenue. Websites are built on various platforms like Wordpress, Joomla, PHP, Html and more. What are keywords Keywords are the search terms which we want our website or blog to rank for in the search engine. Keywords are the heart of the SEO or any digital marketing campaign on which we going to work for. Let us look at an example of keyword.

Keywords types:  Long tail Keyword  Short tail keyword Long tail keyword: This type of keywords can be easily ranked and are more likely to give conversions. They are specific to user requirement. The chance of making an sale is higher in case of long tail as user is specific about the thing he wants to purchase alongwith budget whereas in case of short tail it might be random search looking for information. TIP: Whenever we start a SEO Campaign or Digital marketing Campaign go with Longtail keywords as it would require less time and result will come up faster.

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. For understanding Search Engine Optimization we need to first understand what Search Engines are. Search engines are programs built by companies like Google, Yahoo and Bing. They are directories which hold data related to different websites or blog in there system with related information of different niche. The most popular search engine as we know is Google. Let us dig deep into how Google works? E.g. If we search for “Best mobile phone” we get following results as shown in the screenshot below: Please do this exercise.

Results mention as sponsored are paid ads also called as Google ads. 2. Organic results which are not paid but are articles or websites which contain information related to our search query are displayed below sponsored ads. This organic result’s which are not paid comes under SEO or Search Engine optimization section of Digital Marketing. SEO Types: 1. Local SEO 2. SEO or Generic SEO 3. Images SEO 4. Video SEO SEO can be done for websites, images and videos also. TIP: A rule which is needed to be followed is to make good content. If your content is good and easily readable Google will definitely rank it on 1st page it is as simple as that. Local SEO: It is done for business located locally. e.g. Google search for “Ladies Salon in Mulund”. Please do the exercise.

For that you need to register your business on Google my business page and then Google would send an verification code to verify your business and link your website or blog page to Google so whenever someone searches query similar to your service your website or page can be visible. Recommended is to have a website or Facebook page to share content as said earlier content is the king. So writing and sharing good content would definitely rank your page. SEO or Generic SEO: For generic terms or keywords SEO or Generic SEO is type of seo which takes time and effort. You have to build backlinks from high domain authority websites and also your domain age defines the ranking. Since it is generic terms we can see that Google ads are not showing up as it is generic term and articles are giving a user results related to cars. Similar do the search for “new cars India” you will see results as seen below:

Always mention your website and keywords in the video title and description so that it can be easily searched and viewed upon. It is recommended to have short videos which are less than 10 mins duration with interesting content related to your product or services. Let us look at example. SEO Parts: SEO is divided into 2 parts:  ON Page  OFF Page ON page is defined as changes done to website pages for optimization. ON page is very important, if you do proper ON page SEO you have won 60% of SEO battle and definitely your website would rank higher in search engine. ON Page helps search engine understand what the website is and what it speaks about. ON Page have 3 parameters:  Title  Description  Keywords Title: As name suggest it is title of the web page of your website. Each page should have different title and always make use of your primary keyword in the title of your webpage. Let us look at an example. Please do the exercise.

The company is into software development and has software named as Fixed Asset Management software. Here in the page title they have used their keyword as “Fixed Asset Management, Asset Tracking, Depreciation Software System in India”. Title is to written this way in the header section of the webpage. <title>Fixed Asset Management, Asset Tracking, Depreciation Software System in India</title> The title clearly is visible and indicates the search engine that the page is about fixed asset software. In the above case if someone searches for fixed asset management, fixed asset software India, fixed asset depreciation India or any it will show this page as result as it answers the user query. Tile length should be 55 to 60 characters. It should clearly specify your keywords in sentencing format. Tip: Never stuff keywords in title section of your page, will never rank as it is considered spamming and Google will penalize your website. Description: Description should always be unique and should contain keywords. Each page of website should have different description. Ideal Description should contain 120 to 125 characters.
