maintenance support, troubleshooting, and repair of all equipment
used in clinical simulations. Nady Rizkallah is a member of the Society

advancing the application of simulation in healthcare.
Simulation is used in various disciplines, whether related to health care
or not, for the same reason: to reproduce a system or event before it
happens or before the required skills for that system are determined.
Simulation is used to anticipate potential problems or issues that
might be encountered in actual scenarios.

3. HEALTH CARE
 Most anything can be simulated. Some of the most common areas
where simulation is used are flight training, the modeling of car
crashes, and in manufacturing. Simulation is used to solve problems or
understand a phenomenon. Simulation is also an alternative way to
experiment with complex situations while minimizing cost and risk.
In health care, simulation is used to improve patient safety. A study
proved that repeating medical situations over and over again can
improve team performance.This concept, known as “the concept of
deliberate practice,” focuses on quantity as well as on the quality of
practice. Simulation also helps in creating a standard to ensure that all
participants have exactly the same experience.
Simulation tends to challenge the assumption that clinical skills are
best acquired in a clinical setting through actual situations with live
patients. However, a little skepticism might make the difference in
ensuring that patients benefit from planning, training, and rehearsing.
