Re: Nadee Wickramarachchi
I have known Nadee Wickramarachchi as a teaching colleague at the International School of
Stuttgart since starting my position as Grade 5 teacher in August 2009, and latterly through a
collaborative curriculum planning and development capacity in my role as Primary Years Program
(PYP) coordinator. Throughout this time I have found her to be a highly reliable, organised,
conscientious and honest colleague, and she has been a pleasure to work with.
Her commitment to the development of the children she teaches as well her professional attitude to
the wider school community have been apparent in many aspects of her work, and I believe she has
demonstrated a wide range of professional skills required to foster a positive learning experience for
young children. She is also highly regarded by parents of children she has taught, reflecting the
positive impact she has had.
Nadee has a sound working knowledge of the PYP and the inquiry based learning approach and she
draws on her own background and experience in International education as she continually reflects
and develops her own teaching practice. Nadee is also a problem solver and she tackles things with
a sense of humour, developing positive working relationships with people around her, but also being
clear and confident about how and why something might need to be changed or done in a different
way. Much thought goes into the things she does, and she often has the ability to notice what others
overlook.
I would highly recommend Nadee as a teacher and feel that while she would be an asset to have as
a member of staff at your school, her experience and competence would certainly be sorely missed
here at Stuttgart. I would, of course, be happy to provide further information as required.
