events, local politics, education, health and the environment.
NOWCastSA sponsors are branded as supporters of civic engagement, independent nonprofit
media and education.

Sponsored Content
Category Pages
Category underwriters and sponsors are critical to NOWCastSA’s mission, and support the
production of content that you are most passionate about, from stories and maps to webcasts
and videos.
NOWCastSA content is curated so it can be viewed by category. Current categories include:
Affordable Care Act (ACA), Health & Environment, Politics, Culture and Education. New
categories can be created for special projects, such as SA2020, or by request on a case-by-
case basis.
Category Underwriter - $30,000
Be recognized for supporting relevant local news initiatives and promoting civic engagement.
Initiative sponsors enjoy prominent recognition on the NOWCastSA category page of their
choice and select related content for one year. Includes one approved webcast or video
production of the sponsor’s choosing.
Category Sponsor - $15,000
Be recognized for supporting relevant local news initiatives that relate to your organization’s
philosophy. Includes recognition on the NOWCastSA category page of your choice and text
recognition on select related content for one year.

Funds the white listing of all of NOWCastSA’s community resource maps for a one-year period,
making maps ad-free and branded with NOWCastSA’s logo. Enables NOWCastSA to expand its
mapping capabilities with advanced editing features.
Premium Map Underwriters will be recognized with a custom banner ad on each map page on
NOWCastSA.com, and logo recognition on the maps category page (a $15,000 value):

Standard Map Underwriter - $1,000
Removes ads and third party branding from the map of your choice. Standard Map
Underwriters will be recognized with a custom banner ad on the map page, and text
recognition on the map for a one-month period.
Map Sponsor - $500
Sponsors will be recognized with a standard banner ad and text link on the map page of the
sponsor’s choosing for a one-month period.

Live Webcasts and Video Productions
NOWCastSA produces live webcasts and archived videos of civic events throughout the San
Antonio Metropolitan Area, covering a wide range of topics and themes. Sponsors can opt to
be recognized in an upcoming webcast or video production of their choice: Webcasts and
videos cannot be sponsored retroactively. Unless otherwise specified, all live webcasts are
archived as public videos on YouTube. Some events cannot be webcast live due to Internet
connectivity issues at event venues and/or unforeseen technology difficulties, in which case
NOWCastSA will digitally record video of the event and archive the video to YouTube after the
fact.
Premium Underwriter - $4,000
Supports the production costs of one premium webcast and/or archived video (usually for
events from four to eight hours).
Standard Underwriter -$2,500
Supports the production costs of one standard webcast and/or archived video (usually for
events up to four hours).
Underwriters are recognized with their logo prominently displayed at the introduction and
closing credits of the webcast and/or video of their choice, as well as with a banner ad on
related NOWCastSA.com news stories.

Underwriters can submit their own banner ad, or choose to allow NOWCastSA staff to create a
standard ad with the below template using their name and logo. Banner ad specs: 640 px X
100 px min / 640 px X 175 px max at 100 dpi - .jpg, .gif or .png.
Underwriters will also be recognized on social media, including Facebook, Twitter and
YouTube.
Webcast Sponsor - $500
Webcast Sponsors contribute towards the cost of a webcast and/or video production.
Sponsors are recognized at the introduction and closing credits of the webcast or video of
their choice, and with text links to the sponsor’s page in related NOWCastSA stories.

Online Newsletter
NOWCastSA offers a platform for brands and organizations seeking a more direct connection
with consumers via its online newsletter. Viewers who come to NOWCastSA.com via an online
newsletter visit more pages and spend more time on the site than other visitors, with an
average session length of 5:44, which makes sponsoring the newsletter a strategic way to
maximize the ROI for NOWCastSA.com sponsors.
The weekly newsletter provides summaries of recent NOWCastSA stories as well as a list of
upcoming events and future webcasts, and is sent to more than 1,000 subscribers. See
examples.
Sizes and Introductory Rates
Horizontal banner - 600 px X 200 px @ 100 dpi - $75 per issue
Vertical banner - 300 px X 500 px. @ 100 dpi - $50 per issue
Requirements
Images must include space for “sponsored content” label.

The Edge
The Edge is a short video review of the highest impact stories of the week. Quickly becoming
one of NOWCastSA’s most popular features, The Edge was launched on July 3, 2015.
Viewers spend more time viewing The Edge on NOWCastSA.com than other stories, with an
above average time on page of 3:15.
The Edge has an exceptionally broad reach, as each episode is cross-posted on Facebook and
on YouTube, and delivered to more than 1,000 subscribers via email. In its first four months,
The Edge videos reached 15,303 Facebook users, where it was watched 4,894 times. The
Edge videos were viewed 606 times on YouTube over the same period.
Sponsoring The Edge is a unique way to maximize brand exposure to NOWCastSA viewers, as
sponsorship may include recognition in the video (YouTube and Facebook) as well as in the
NOWCastSA.com story page and in a targeted email newsletter.

Guardian: $50,000

nowcastsa.com/sponsorship and in its annual report, up to six banner ad recognitions in
NOWCastSA newsletters and logo recognition on the NOWCastSA.com home page plus top-
page banner ad recognition on NOWCastSA.com for up to three days per month for a 12-
month period.

Neither NOWCastSA nor its funders or sponsors are responsible for the actual content of any
live event, video production or contributed content. The views of individual speakers and/or
contributors are their own and do not represent the opinions of NOWCastSA or its sponsors.
All financial and in-kind contributions made to NOWCastSA are disclosed to the IRS and to the
public annually.
NOWCastSA will clearly label any paid sponsorship content/sponsor recognition. Sponsors
and underwriters do not have any editorial control over NOWCastSA content beyond the
display of their own logos and messaging.
