In May 2014, HEE invited stakeholders to comment on its draft HEE Research and Innovation Strategy. Over 70 organisations responded & feedback has been incorporated in to the revised Strategy & implementation plan. The final version will be presented to the HEE Board for approval in September.

Clinical Academic Training Programme - review
•One task for the CACSG was to review the CAT Programme – 4 levels
•A questionnaire was circulated to key stakeholders to establish a baseline position for the CAT Programme, and identify key issues relating to areas of good practice or barriers to access to the various CAT Programme schemes
•The existing scheme was opened up to include pharmacists as a pilot
•A new CAC Framework is being developed that consolidates existing schemes into one programme for all healthcare professionals outside medicine and dentistry – also open to a wider range of professions
