Editor's Notes
Welcome to this presentation about Wildcare. Here is some information about our trust. We were set up in 2005 with the aim of saving animals from extinction. We are a charity and rely on our members for financial support to continue our work. Our membership fees are supported by animal adoptions and donations. Our plan is to develop a database of all the endangered species around the world which will then be downloaded and used by our members.
On this next slide is some information about endangered species. Scientists have estimated that there could be more than 30 million species of animal around the world. In the United states alone there are 496 species of animal (do not mention plants) that are listed as threatened or endangered, our trust is aiming to decrease this number. Worldwide there are over 1,000 endangered species in all. There are 3,500 protected areas that cover 3% of the whole Earth’s land. All this information was sourced from Endangeredspecie.com which was originally sourced from The National Wildlife Federation, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service
On this slide there is an extract from our database. For example the bigeye tuna is at risk from hunting. (Pause to let people look at the table)
On this slide there is information about WildCare Teens and WildCare Kids. Teens will receive a welcome pack and will be able to download a database full of information to do with endangered species. The pack will include a membership card, sample reports and a leaflet. They will also receive a magazine twice a year. WildCare Kids will receive a welcome pack as the teens did but they will have a badge, a membership card and stickers. They will also receive activity sheets twice a year.
These are the membership options as of now and what are proposed in the future. We are adding two new membership options, WildCare kids and WildCare teens. They will be £15.97 and £9.97, these are very good prices for how much it helps the animals. These options are planned for next year. Thanks for listening any questions? (Answer any questions)
