ACHIEVEMENTS OF INDIA AFTER 1947
 Democracy :
India has been able to
develop its democracy
beautifully by giving
universal franchise to
its citizens irrespective
of their economic and
social status.
ACHIEVEMENTS OF INDIA AFTER 1947
 India is among the select
few space powers in the
world to launch foreign
satellites and eye a big
chunk of the $ 200 billion
commercial rocket launch
industry. India has sewn
up space agreements
with over 20 countries.
More importantly, it is now
preparing for its Mars
Mission in December
2013.
ACHIEVEMENTS OF INDIA AFTER 1947
 India was net importer of
food grains and depended
upon international food aid
upto mid-1960s. Today
India has self sufficiency in
food production and exports
various food grains. We are
largest producers of fresh
fruits, milk,pulses and oil
seeds,sunflower seeds and
second largest producers of
wheat,rice
sugarcane,potato,tea,cotton
etc in the world.
ACHIEVEMENTS OF INDIA AFTER 1947
 We have successfully
eradicated various
epidemics and Polio from
our nation.Life
expectancy is 68.89
years which was only 32
years at the time of
independence. This is
one of the major
achievement taking into
account that we comprise
17% of world population.
ACHIEVEMENTS OF INDIA AFTER 1947
 Indians have learnt
lessons from history very
well and focussed their
energy in developing
strong deterrent in the
form of their armed
forces.
 India is one of
four largest military
powers in the world today
and has got one of most
sophisticated missile
programmes in the world.
RECENT PROBLEMS IN INDIA:-
CAUSES FOR POVERTY
IN INDIA:-
 Rapid growth of
population
 Lack of motivation
 Low agricultural
productivity
 Unequal distribution of
land and other assets
 Lack of employment
opportunities
RECENT PROBLEMS IN INDIA:-
 Today, when India is free, these
officials representing all
government departments are very
close to the most corrupt
businessmen who are too
unscrupulous to let any
opportunity of amassing profits
slip. This collusion broadens the
base of the vicious circle and
corruption spreads 'like wild fire to
engulf the entire society. The
political and social guardians
depend only too much on the
richer communities and they look
indulgently on while these
communities hold the entire
society and the government to
ransom.
RECENT PROBLEMS IN INDIA:-
Effects of Over Population
 Unemployment.
 Manpower utilisation.
 Pressure on
infrastructure
 Resource utilisation.
 Decreased production
and increased costs.
 Inequitable income
distribution.
RECENT PROBLEMS IN INDIA:-
 Now a days , all
talented Indians move
to foreign in search of
job with more salary.
Indians in foreign
companies ,
40% at NASA
34% at Microsoft
28% at IBM
17% at Intel (company)
13% at Xerox.
OUR RESPONSIBILITIES:-
 Obey Laws and Respect Authority-Don’t break
laws and also refrain others for doing so.
 Civic and Social Duty should be performed-Be
aware about the issues affecting the society and
provide solutions to them,Vote intelligently and
Pay Taxes by proper means and use acts like
RTI,RTE for the good of the society.
 Keep your surroundings and locality clean,Use
Dustbin,Care for Public Property and Other
People’s Property.
 Be Honest to your Country and Fellow Citizen.
OUR RESPONSIBILITIES:-
 Develop a deep sense of Patriotism towards our
Country,Respect our Country’s Social and
Economic Policies,Always contribute to the
Welfare of our Country.
 Must be able to teach the Younger Generation
to show Respect and Love towards the
Country.
 Make our Country Proud when visiting other
Nations,Never speak bad about our Country.
 Help the Poor and Needy and Provide great
Hospitality to both Foreign and Local Tourist.
CONCLUSION:-
So as an Indian,let us
work,struggle
and die for India and for its development .So
whatever work you do , DO IT FAVOURABLE
TO THE COUNTRY.So on this independence
day that lets take a pledge that we will work
for India’s development.JAI HIND!
