EGR110- Introduction to Engineering II
We were tasked with designing and fabricating a battery powered car, which
must be able to travel 100 meters in the least amount of time as possible. In
addition to that the car must be able to carry a load of one kilogram and have at
least one 3D printed part.
Name Job title Responsibilities
Zach Dennin CAD Design Assuring the Quality of 3D
print
Tasin Choudhury Designer Headed design selection
Kyle Coats Communications Managing team
communication and keeping
the team on track
Daniel Esteves Fabrication Responsible for assuring the
fabrication part & pricing
Requirements Specification
Cost Less than $100
Distance Must be able to travel 100m
Speed Travel as quickly as possible
Load Must be able to carry up to 1kg
Build Time Must be fabricated by April 21st
3D print One component must be 3D printed
Resources Must be purchased through RC Planet,
B&G HW, Hostetters
Circuitry Create a circuit involving a switch and
resistor suitable for running the carts

Fabrication
• Different 3D part than originally planned
• Replaced body with plywood
• Used crimped connection for circuit
• Included 5ohm resistor and switch
Obstacles
• Cracking of resistor
• Motor too high off axle
• Gears became worn
• Axle shifted and wouldn’t sit correctly
