What is Anxiety ?
Anxiety is a feeling of ner vous ness , fear, or w or r y.
Everyone has feelings of anxiety at s ome point in their life. For example, you
may feel worried and anxious about s itting an exam, or having a medic al tes t or
job inter view.
In other w or d Anxiety c an be explained as : -
Anxiety is a natur al human r es pons e to s tr es s or danger, and it's a feeling of
fear or uneas e about future events or s ituations . Anxiety is a c ommon emotion
exper ienc ed by almos t ever yone at s ome point in their life, but it bec omes a
pr oblem w hen it is exc es s ive or out of pr opor tion to the ac tual thr eat pos ed by
a s ituation .

What are the symptoms of Anxiety?

dis order, s oc ial anxiety dis order, and s pec ific phobias , and eac h has its own
unique featur es and diagnos tic c r iter ia .

 Having a s ens e of impending danger, panic or doom.
 H aving an inc r eas ed hear t r ate.
 Br eathing r apidly ( hyper ventilation)
 Sw eating.
 Trembling.
 Feeling w eak or tir ed.
 Tr ouble c onc entr ating or think ing about anything other than t h e p r e s e n t wo r r y.

What causes Anxiety?

Anxiety can be caused by a combination of factors, including genetic, environmental, and psychological factors. Some
common causes of anxiety include:-
 Genetics: Anxiety can run in families, suggesting a genetic predisposition to the disorder.
 Brain chemistry: Chemical imbalances in the brain, particularly involving neurotransmitters like serotonin
and dopamine, can contribute to the development of anxiety.
 Life experiences: Traumatic or stressful life events such as abuse, neglect, or the death of a loved one
can trigger anxiety.
 Personality traits: People with certain personality traits, such as perfectionism, low self-esteem, or a
tendency to worry, may be more prone to developing anxiety.
 Medical conditions: Certain medical conditions, such as thyroid disorders or heart disease, can cause
anxiety symptoms.
 Substance abuse: Alcohol and drug abuse can lead to or exacerbate anxiety.
 Environmental factors: Certain environmental factors, such as high levels of stress at work or in the home
environment, can contribute to anxiety.
 It's important to note that while these factors can contribute to the development of anxiety, not everyone
who experiences them will develop the disorder. Additionally, anxiety can sometimes occur for no clear

How to deal with Anxiety?
Anxiety can be treated through various forms of therapy, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT),
exposure therapy, and medication, such as anti-anxiety medications and antidepressants. It's important to
seek help from a mental health professional if you are experiencing excessive or prolonged anxiety that is
interfering with your daily life.

a relief.
Try to manage your worries add.
Look after your physical health add.
Try breathing exercises add.
Keep a diary add.
Complementary and alternative therapies add.

Can Anxiety Be Cured ?

What Foods are Anti Anxiety ?
