Panic disorder is a
type of anxiety
disorder where you
experience
unexpected and
repeated panic
attacks. S y m p t o m s
c a n include
sweating, paleness,
racing heart, or
feeling like you are
g o i n g to die.
Obsessive-
compulsive
disorder, or OCD, is
an anxiety disorder
characterized by
uncontrollable
thoughts and
behaviors.
S y m p t o m s can
include excessive
cleaning, counting,
or c h e c ki n g to
m a k e sure things
are locked or off.
Social anxiety
disorder, or social
phobia, is a type of
anxiety disorder
characterized by
intense anxiety or
fear of being
judged, negatively
evaluated, or
rejected in social
situations.
Post-traumatic
stress disorder, or
PTSD, is a disorder
that c a n develop
after experiencing
or witnessing a
traumatic event.
S y m p t o m s can
include flashbacks,
nightmares, and
severe anxiety.
Stressful or traumatic events such as
abuse, death, or divorce c a n contribute to
anxiety. S o m e people m a y also develop
anxiety due to environmental factors like
pollution, noise or odors.
Anxiety c a n also b e caused by biological
factors such as an overactive fight-or-
flight response, genetic factors, a n d the
brain chemistry imbalances.
People with certain personality traits such
as perfectionism or a tendency towards
negativity m a y b e more susceptible to
anxiety.
Sweating, racing heart,
chest pain, rapid
breathing, trembling, and
dizziness.
Excessive fear, obsessive
thoughts, difficulty
concentrating, a n d racing
thoughts.
Avoiding anxiety-
provoking situations,
compulsive behaviors, out
of character behaviors,
a n d trouble sleeping.
Effective treatments for anxiety disorders include psychotherapy, medication a n d lifestyle
c h a n g e s such as regular exercise a n d mindfulness practices. Treatment success rates vary
d e p e n d i n g on the type of disorder a n d individual.
Regular meditation or
mindfulness exercises can
help reduce s y mp t o ms of
anxiety by helping you to
focus your m i n d and
b e c o m e more present.
Deep breathing a n d other
relaxation techniques can
help to relax your b o d y and
m i n d during an anxiety
attack.
K e e p i n g a journal c a n help
you identify patterns in
your anxiety, as well as
provide a space to explore
your feelings and
emotions.
Anxiety disorders are c o m m o n , a n d c a n b e the result of various
factors such as biology, personality, or environment.
Effective treatments, such as psychotherapy or medication, c a n help
alleviate anxiety symptoms.
Self-help strategies, such as meditation or journaling, c a n also be
beneficial. However, it is important to seek professional assistance if
s y m p t o m s are persistent.

Post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD, is a disorder that c a n develop after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event. S y m p t o m s can include flashbacks, nightmares, and severe anxiety.

S o m e people m a y also develop anxiety due to environmental factors like pollution, noise or odors.
