3. Neurology
Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system.
Neurology deals with the diagnosis and treatment of all categories of conditions and
disease involving the central and peripheral nervous systems (and their subdivisions,
the autonomic and somatic nervous systems), including their coverings, blood vessels,
and all effector tissue, such as muscle.
4. Role of manager
A manager works to organize and direct the operations of the facilities provided in neurology
department.
A manager helps in providing staff with the leadership that they need to manage all of the teams who
collaborate together .
A manager will schedulethe shift of staff.
A manager will manage the team and help in performing their activities efficiently.
A manager will also review customer complaints, address concerns and determine if disciplinary action
is necessary when policies are broken.
It is also the managers responsibility to select and train staff members who work with patients in the
facility.
A manager should be up to date with yhe knowledge of laws and policies in case if any legal situation
arises.
A manager will learn about changes in the law and then convey these changes in procedures and
policies with staff. If the facility does not comply and the manager does not educate the staff of new
programs and procedures, the facility could be penalized.

In a neurology ward
Each bed should have an area of 6*6 sqr.ft.
A distance of minimum 4 ft and ideally 6ft should be there in 2 adjacent bed.
The ward should have an installed central oxygen and suction supply for each bed
In recovery
The arrangement should be in “U” shape. Nurses station in the center and beds on
either sides
The beds should have monitors installed above it.
The monitors should be centrally installed on nurses station
8. In post-op recovery
There should be at least 3 beds in recovery.
All the beds should have a crash cart.
All the beds should be installed central supply of oxygen and suction
