4. Abstract
In this project we are purposed to design a UPS(Uninterruptable Power supply)
using IGBT’s and others components
We will use only IGBT’s for the step down and step up voltages to overcome on
weight
Our expected power will be 500W to 800W
5. Introduction
An uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is an electrical apparatus that provides
emergency power to a load when the input power source fails
It use wapda supply for the charging of batteries which is connected with UPS and
while load shedding UPS take current from batteries and provide a power to our
load
By this we can use our fans, lights, TV, fridge and other necessary electronics.
6. Problem Statement
The major problem we faced is that too much load shedding in Pakistan most of
the time wapda supply will be not available.
In summers without supply most of the food in refrigerator will be wasted due to
fungus.
So by these problem we design an UPS which will charge the batteries in the
presence of wapda and then provide output power by batteries to our appliances
7. Scope
Uninterruptible power supplies are used wherever power disturbances can lead
to life-threatening, critical conditions. Typical applications of uninterruptible
power supplies are therefore computers in data centers and hospitals, as well as in
public authorities and other security-relevant areas.
