Stroke Hypertension is the commonest risk factor followed by smoking, excessive use
of alcohol, diabetes mellitus and transient ischemic attack, obesity and lack of
exercise are predominantly risk factors for stroke in sari Lanka.
Ischemic Heart Diseases The risk factors include unhealthful nutrition, hypertension, physical inactivity,
dyslipidaemia, hyperglycaemia, high blood pressure, obesity, consideration of
select populations (older age, race/ethnicity, and sex differences),
thrombosis/smoking, kidney dysfunction and genetics, familial
hypercholesterolemia.
Chronic Respiratory Diseases Urbanization and increase of motorcycles vehicles are blamed for outdoor air
pollution while firewood are blamed for indoor air pollution both are consider
risk factors for COPD in sari Lanka, smoking (including second hand smoking)
allergens, poor dietary habits, physical inactivity, poverty are also consider risk
