Plant Specifications:
OTPC is a 726.6 MW CCPP at Palatana, Tripura, India. The Gas based Power plant is having two Stages of 232.39MW
GE 9FA Gas Turbine Generators and 130.91MW BHEL Steam Turbine Generators with 400kV Switch yard (1-1/2 Breaker
system) 230MVA & 150MVA, 15.75/420kVgenerator transformers, 16MVA Unit transformers (oil Cooled), LCI and GE
Excitation system, HT motors and VCB's (BHEL), LT motors and ACB's (GE,C&S,L&T), Steam turbine drives, EDG, Motor
operated valves and interface with DCS, Over head cranes, hoists, H2 Plant and its Auxiliaries etc.
Key Deliverables as Engineer – Electrical:
 Maintenance of all 400KV, 132KV switchyard equipment and the relay/control panel, operational interlocks trouble
shooting.
 Maintenance of Turbo Generator, 230MVA & 150MVA Transformers, 25 MVA Station transformers (oil Cooled), Boilers
and Its Auxiliaries Preventive, Corrective and Breakdown Maintenance
 CT, CVT and Transformer ratio, winding resistance tests.
 Transformer Stability test includes REF and SEF.
 Maintenance and troubleshooting of 6.6KV (BHEL Make)MV panel VCB's, Motors EDG sets, Over head cranes, 415V
switchgears, MCC’s, 48V, 110V,125V,220V Battery Chargers & Battery banks, Plant lightning, Fire protection system etc.
 Commissioning of new Ni-Cd battery banks for the station, switchyard and sub-sequent testing of the banks for the
capacity assessments.
 Involved in testing of 400KV CT’s, PT’s, 230MVA & 150MVA power transformer protection checks
 Co-ordination for the start-ups/shut downs activities.
 Involved in Testing of Generator protection, Transformer protection and Line protection relay co-ordination schemes.
 Carried out maintenance of all Gas and Steam turbine auxiliary drives and their LT/HT feeders.
 Maintenance of BOP system includes Gas booster compressor, DM Plant, cooling system and Hydrogen system.
 Responsible for planning and executing of weakly maintenance schedule, coordinating the start-ups/shut downs, trouble
shooting, preparing spares list as per maintenance requirement and making PTW as job nature & attending defects as
issued by Operation Department.
Safety Assurance: Conducting regular pep talks, toolbox talk induction programs and ensuring the work permits being
followed.

central electricity authority, ministry of power, govt. of India.
