2. Our Trip
• This year’s trip will take place
on May 17-18th.
• The trip begins early Friday
morning and returns late
Saturday evening.
• It is an action packed two days!
3. Chaperones
• All of the chaperones are teachers here at
the Middle School. Collectively, the four
chaperones from last years’ trip had gone
on the trip fifteen times.
• So your child is in well-qualified
experienced hands.
4. Abraham Lincoln’s Tomb
• Part of our tour of
Springfield is a
guided tour of
Abraham Lincoln’s
tomb.
5. Abraham Lincoln’s
New Salem
• New Salem is a recreation of the
village Abraham Lincoln lived in
during his early adulthood.
• The site is interactive so there will
be various displays of everyday life
when Lincoln lived there.
6. Illinois Military History
Museum
• The museum travels from the
Revolutionary War to present with
a variety of artifacts.
7. Mark Twain’s Cave
• The trip also
includes a
journey through
Mark Twain’s
cave.
8. A Cruise Along the
Mississippi
• Our tour of
Hannibal, Missouri
includes an hour
long cruise on the
Mississippi River.

10. How much does it cost?
• Last year, the total cost was
$270
11. One or Two Buses?
• Per person bus surcharges are:
$20.00 for 35-39 paid per bus
and $30.00 for 30-34 paid per
bus
13. Hotel
• We will be staying overnight in
Hannibal, Missouri.
• There will be four students per
room.
• There is hotel security.
• There is an enforced curfew.
14. Meals
• The $270 dollars included
Friday’s dinner along with
Saturday’s breakfast, lunch, and
dinner.
• It does not include lunch on
Friday, so we ask that the
students bring a sack lunch.
15. Final Meeting
• There will be a final meeting
before the trip in May.
• At that meeting I’ll share the
itinerary, specific rules, etc.
