2. Eco hydro logger is a low cost data-logging device to record water characteristics
e.g. the level and temperature of water in any part of a river or stream.

Invention of Eco Hydro Logger:
Researchers from University of British Columbia have developed a new technology
in Canada which is known as Eco Hydro Logger.The device was tested successfully
in tropical climate from May to November 2015.

3.  Working procedure of Eco Hydro Logger:
Eco hydro logger powered by solar energy is able to record data
every 10 minutes and for several months.It is a DIY(do-it-
yourself) kind of toolset that allows one to build customizable
electronic devices.It records data related to water levels,
temperatures & quality of water in a particular river or a stream.
This has the potentiality to change the way of research and the
water management officials gather data and strategic methods.

4. In Canada, meteorological and hydrological data of eco hydro
logger have used by the organizations of Environment Canada and
the provincial Hydro companies.

5. The use of Eco Hydro Logger in the perspective of Bangladesh:
 Risk mitigation in coastal areas: Coastal areas in Bangladesh if
monitored by hydrologic monitoring could save a lot of lives lost
during storms.

6.  Monitoring riverflow and obtaining data: The device can be
used real-time flow monitoring and water quality,level and
movement of streams, rivers, sewers.

7.  Reducing impact of floods: Bangladesh is a disaster prone
country.So,Data gathering would help to be disaster management effective
and control flood.

8.  Cost effective: Developing country like Bangladesh would get
benefit where resources are scarce but natural disasters are
frequent.
 Measuring water salinity: This device can be used to measure
other parameters like water salinity which is important like
farmers.

Hydrological monitoring and flood forecasting are the basis of
prevention and disaster mitigation during rainy season of
Bangladesh.

10.  Effective for data scarce regions: It can enable better understanding
of river flow patterns in data scarce regions where researchers have
found it difficult to collect their own data.
 Effective in water management: It has applicability to understand
the water patterns and its availability and manage their water usage
accordingly.
So , it can be said that Eco Hydro logger plays an important
role for disaster management effective in the perspective of
Bangladesh.
