The reporting verb will always be changed by the
nature of the reported speech.
16. Examples on different sentences
01) Teacher said to his student, “ You have to
follow my order.” ( Assertive sentence)
(02) Mother said to her son, “ Do not mix with
bad company.” ( Imperative sentence).
Indirect speech: mother advised her son not
to mix with bad company.
(03) I said to Saiful,“ May Allah bless you.” (
opt.)
Indirect: I prayed that Allah might bless him.
