Title & Problem/Need
Make up an interesting title; gin up a logo if possible; borrow one as a placeholder Identify an overall problem/need – short, sweet statement – You can present your “one sentence pitch” here. Same as slide 7. MUST PUT YOUR TEAM NAME ON SLIDE 1 MUST PUT YOUR TEAM MEMBER’S NAMES ON SLIDE 1 MUST PUT: 441fall2021 Section MUST PUT A 1 SENTENCE DESCRIPTION OF YOUR PROJECT ON SLIDE 1
3 Issues
Identify 3 issues that are at the core of the problem/need/pain; USE PICTURES – State issues as 3 short bullets (no sentences; only short phrases)
Example of 1 issue
Give a CONCRETE example of one of the 3 issues that is at the core of the problem/need for your app
Solution of 1 issue Screen Mock UP
Create a mock up of the screen that addresses the issue in slide 3. The mock up doesn’t have to be beautiful; just good enough to give a CLEAR sense of how your app will address the issue in slide 3.
Have pointers in the slides to show which interface element addresses which issues (from slide 2)
Gotchas
A short list of 2-4 issues that will need to be addressed: where are you going to get the information for the database on deals at bars? where are you going to find users to match cooks with eaters?
Competition
Who else is dealing with the same sort of issues? Make a “feature comparison matrix chart.” See below. Where “product x” are the names of other apps that “do the same thing” – or something similar.
Weekly Goals Time Line
Fill out the attached “weekly project goals” spreadsheet. Include a screenshot of the spreadsheet in your preso. NOTE: you can’t say the same goal week after week; also you can’t say EVERY team member is working on the same goal – each team member is working on his/her own goal!
8 Your Vision
Repeat the one sentence pitch – as a summary. You will be practicing your one sentence pitch on Friday, 1-19. (see the references below) This slide should have ONE SENTENCE on it. ONE SENTENCE. Get it? How many sentences on the last slide? Thank you… (Use the format for the one sentence pitch from the Tech Crunch article)
