Hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver that is most commonly caused by viral infections. There are several types of hepatitis named after the virus that causes them, such as hepatitis A, B, or C. Symptoms of viral hepatitis are generally similar and can include jaundice, fever, fatigue, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, joint pain, dark urine, clay-colored stool, and diarrhea in the case of hepatitis A.
