RAK Goats Pitch Sponsorship 2015-16
1. Rugby’s values of Teamwork
Respect, Enjoyment,
Discipline and Sportsmanship
are what makes the game
special for those who enjoy the
environment and culture they
create. They define the game and
define Rugby.
2. Rugby is for everyone, male or female, large or small, short or tall, from
mini level to under 11's to senior to veterans. Different formats favour
different styles from the traditional 15 a side, 10’s favoured by veterans, 5’s
beach rugby and of course the new Olympic Sport, Rugby 7’s.
Rugby is a social sport. As part of the rugby tradition, the home team
hosts the visiting team in an after game social, which is filled with good
cheer and camaraderie.
Rugby is a hugely popular international worldwide sport with over 400
million fans supporting the recent 2015 Rugby World Cup which had the
best 20 international teams in the world competing against each other.
Rugby has been played in the UAE before the federation was even formed
and is growing exponentially in the region. The Dubai Sevens attracts over
100,000 attendees and is broadcasted to over 230 million homes in 120
countries. The national team competes in the Asia Rugby Second Division
and the UAE Rugby Federation is making great strides to bring the Emirati
community into the game.
All the talent in the world won’t take you
anywhere without your teammates” Anonymous
3. We are the only club in the Northern Emirates with roots going back as far
back as 1979. The recent brand was revived in 2013 after an eight year
break by a small group of enthusiasts. The Goats ended the 2014 - 2015
season with over 30 playing members and a growing social following.
Our Veterans team played at tournaments in Doha, Bahrain Sharjah and of
course in the Emirates Airlines Dubai Sevens.
We have players from the local Community ranging from a number of
Local Emirati Players that are learning the game with us to players from a
multitude of countries including; England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland,
Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, Syria, Egypt, Japan, Sweden - Any
nationality is welcome.
We pride ourselves of being a Community / Family based club with many
Social Events outside of Match Day's and Training
Whilst the Goats are growing each year, we face challenges ahead;
continuous growth in a transient community and the securing of a
permanent rugby pitch to train and play on being the top priorities on
the list.
4. To meet these challenges, the new management team have achieved the
following:
We have joined the UAE Rugby federation ‘Community League’, a
grass roots tournament for Senior Players playing 10 games across
the country in the full 15's format throughout the season.
We have forged a partnership with the Bin Majid Hotel group
establishing a Club House for social events, potential use of their
existing pitch and the use of the beach for the annual beach rugby
tournament.
We held a number of ‘Social’ events in our new club house
showing; the Rugby Championship, Rugby World Cup and Six
Nations. We have brought in new friends, social members and an
initial but relatively small revenue stream to the club.
We have engaged a professional company to build a new web and
social media presence. From recent analysis we have achieved the
second most interest of any Rugby Club in the UAE on our media
channels. We are of course striving to be the first!
We have secured assistance from a number of new sponsors from
both local and international companies and have reciprocated their
kindness via multiple marketing opportunities that have arisen.
5. We have a lot of work to do to achieve our objectives. At the moment our
top priority is to have a regular home pitch to train and play on
Our partners the Bin Majid Beach Resort have generously granted us use
of their existing pitch facility which is within the resort that we have been
making use of.
The Bin Majid Pitch has a former soccer pitch in a fantastic setting 200
meters from the sea and 100 meters from our clubhouse. Unfortunately,
the field hasn't been used or maintained for several years and has fallen
into a state of disrepair.
We are currently striving to complete the pitch to a playing standard
within the World Rugby regulations for the Community League and a
number of potential friendly fixtures.
6. The clear-up work has been completed (care of APT Global) and we have
erected Rugby Posts (care of BAM International) and entrance Flagpoles
(care of Tempest) ourselves.
However, to complete the field so
that it is fit to play rugby on it, we
need to find someone to fund an
earthworks package for the playing
surface.
The RAK Goats sees massive potential
in this pitch and are now looking for
partners and sponsors that see the
same opportunities as us.
We are not aiming high and am
looking at a minimum maintenance
model for the pitch at this stage. We
are intending to play on a sand
surface which is how all major clubs
in the region started off and is within
World Rugby Regulations.
Our best quotation so far is in the region of AED 81,000 from a
Local Construction Company.
7. Teams in the UAE Community League that are based all over the
UAE will come to Ras AL Khamiah, enjoy the Emirate's attractions
and play Rugby on our Pitch.
Social Teams from outside the UAE will also be able to come and
play. We already have had interest from the Bahrain, Doha, Riyadh,
Muscat and even some travelling teams from visiting British Naval
vessels docked in the RAK Ports.
The generation of interest in Rugby for the local Emirati
Community to learn and play the game (this initiative is fully
encouraged by the UAE Federation).
An opportunity to start a mini, youth and women’s rugby section
for our children.
An annual Ras Khamiah Goats Tens Tournament open to the entire
GCC region.
The hosting of other Expat Sports such as Gaelic Football and
Hurling with the RAK Irish Society.
Expat and Local Community based Social events to be centred
around the pitch area such as Music Festivals, Bonfire Nights etc.
We are positive that once the pitch is completed, the Local Emirati
and Expat community will fully support the RAK Goats.
8. Your Company Name and Logo at the Front centre of our playing Jersey's,
training / touring shirts and kit bags in a prominent position.
The Goats strip and your logo will be marketed on our shirts across the
UAE at the 10 community clubs that we play at during the season. Not to
mention across the GCC as we play tournaments in Doha, Bahrain, Sharjah
and of course the Dubai Rugby Sevens.
Your Company Name and Logo on prominent Advertising Hoardings at
the entrance and sides of the Pitch.
Your Company Flag on our Flagpole at the Entrance to the pitch.
As we develop, communication of your company name by pitch-side PA
System.
As we develop, your company name in our match program.
Your Company Logo and Website URL on a prominent position on our
Website and Facebook Site.
Regular Newsletter, Letterhead & Email Template advertising.
Advertising in our Clubhouse for home games and Social Events.
Beach Rugby Tournament advertising.
9.
10. Changing Facilities and Showers adjacent to the pitch
Transform the Sand Pitch to a Grass Pitch which will lead to inviting
International Sevens Teams to Train at our Facilities away from the Hustle
and Bustle of Dubai.
Scrummaging Machine.
