3. My name is Miguel Rodriguez and I use the name “Mike”. I am retired from an outstanding
U.S. Government career as wartime Disabled Veteran. I completed my education with a
Doctorate in Homeland Defense (Armed Forces College), a Master’s in Political Management
from George Washington University. In addition have my Bachelors Degree from the University
of Massachusetts with an area of concentration in Ichthyology. I also completed an Associate’s
Degree in the field of General Sciences, a technical certificate in Aquaculture from Harbor
Branch Oceanographic Institute and Indian River Community College.
In two thousand nine and ten I received my Doctorate in Homeland Defense from Armed
Forces College. This placed an emphasis on the security of our nation, taking it beyond our
borders and into globalization. It was through the George Washington University in 2008 – 2009
that I received a Graduate Degree from the School of Professional Studies with an area of
concentration in International Advocacy.
It was in the year of 1998 to 2004 that I took on the studies at the University of
Massachusetts, studying Ichthyology with a major and a minor in public affairs and public
relations.
I am the proud owner of CR Fish Farm. I had the opportunity in two thousand and four
though two thousand and six, to study at Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute, Fort Pierce,
Florida. Part of my independent study was in collaboration with the U.S. Department of
Agriculture and I received a Technical Certificate in Ichthyology. I consider Fish Farming as one
of my passions and hobbies when I am not engaged with political management.
I conducted a work-study program sponsored by the University of Massachusetts as the
assistant Biologist with the Department of Interior at Cronin Salmon Station, Sunderland,
Massachusetts. My next career path would place me as a consultant at Los Pescadores Seafood
Distribution Company, our family owned business, from nineteen eighty five through two
thousand and four. From this, rose the position of Director of farm operations at Queen Lake
Trout Farm.
My government career path during my time in service was exceptional. From 1991 through
1994, I was serving as a White House Escort in Washington DC, within the Executive Branch of
our government. From 1984 to 1991, I served working in the Office of the Chairman of the
Joint Chiefs as personal security to the Chairman himself. From 1982 till 1984, I was a US
Army Drill Sergeant. This was the most gratifying position I held, molding young and training
young soldiers. In 1980 till 1982, I was assigned to the US Army Service Center for the Armed
Services, The Pentagon, Washington DC.
I was the Noncommissioned Officer in charge of Reenlistment and Training for the 501st
Transportation Company, Kaiserslautern, Germany and a heavy vehicle operator for the same
company from 1977 – 1980. Before my military career, I was a tobacco crop picker in the fields
of Windsor Locks, Connecticut.
