Micropenis Definition:
Micropenis is a medical term used to
describe an extremely small penis. The
most commonly used criterion is a dorsal
erect penile length of 9 cm (around 3.5
inches) or less. For newborns, the mean
stretched penile length is around 3.5 cm
while any baby with a length of less than
2.0 cm should taken to a doctor to check
for the condition. According to current
estimations, around around 1 in every
200 men suffers from micropenis. The
condition is also known as microphallus.

Diagnosing a micropenis:
Diagnosing the condition is very easy and
can be done at any age. All that is needed
is an examination by a doctor. A man can
also educate him about how to measure
his penis and see by himself whether or
not he has a micropenis. Still, more tests
may be required, as many times the
condition is the result of other conditions.

Micropenis Causes 1/2:
Why micropenis occurs largely remains a
mystery. However, scientists believe it is
the result of various hormonal
abnormalities (sex-chromosomes related)
that occur during the second and third
semester.

Micropenis Treatments:
As of now there are three clinically
proven ways to enlarge a man’s
micropenis:
- Testosterone treatment (only for
children)
- Phalloplasty (Adult treatment only)
- Penis extender (adult children only)

Phalloplasty:
Phalloplasty is a surgical technique that
may be used for penis enlargement. There
are many micropenis cases that were
successfully treated with this kind of
operation.
Although in the past the procedure
yielded poor results, recent advances
have made it a perfect option for treating
micropenis

Testosterone therapy:
When the micropenis condition is
diagnosed early on (e.g. right after birth)
hormone therapy (testosterone) usually
yields very good results
Testosterone therapy usually consists of
3 intramuscular injections (25-50 mg
each), one per month. Depending on the
results, the attending doctor may decide
to continue or discontinue treatment
