THE HOUSE OF TRUTH
Resist Nothing
By Ellen Chun
What is stress other than resistance to the events in one’s life? The event itself is almost
never the problem. It is the mind’s reaction to it that determines whether there is a
problem or not. To put it another way: Resistance is what causes psychological pain. No
resistance = no psychological pain; no matter what the circumstance happens to be.
For every event that stresses someone out, that same event may cause no negativity for another. For example, one
person may feel intense anxiety on missing a flight while another person may view it as “time to read” or “time for
a nap”. Even if those two people were going to the same meeting and knew that there would be stiff
consequences for being late. The one who feels stress has allowed his mind to wander into “what if” scenarios
while the stress free person knows that the situation was out of his control and chose to remain calm. We could
take this line of reasoning to the extreme as in someone being locked up and in solitary confinement. Most would
feel absolute misery in this situation. But there are others, Ghandi, for instance, who used this scenario as a tool for
spiritual growth. Same situation, vastly different reactions…
The reason that Ghandi did not feel stress was because he did not resist his situation. He did not assign mental
problems to what was happening. He simply flowed with it. Ghandi knew that peace is ALWAYS an option,
regardless of outside circumstances.
Sometimes we believe that we must feel stress in order to do what needs to be done but alas, this is not so. Just
think of any time when you performed some feat without stress. You usually perform the feat even better than
usual, not worse. One example of this is when one of my daughters was an infant and pushed through the gate
blocking off the top of the stairs. It was a very high, steep staircase and there was a large vase at the bottom of the
steps that would have cracked on impact. My daughter, went tumbling down the stairs, heading directly towards
the vase and the hard tile below. A force came over me that caused me to simply act without any resistance to
what was happening in that moment. I jumped down the staircase and grabbed her just before her head hit the
floor. What could have resulted in a very serious injury left my daughter without a scratch. After the fact I
shuddered at the thought of what might have been the outcome had I stressed out and froze or panicked while
trying to save my daughter.
When we resist some thing or some thought,
we are stopping the flow of it from affecting
us because of the discomfort that it creates in
us. How you deal with this energy flow has a
direct impact on how much peace or how
much stress you will experience. The phrase
“Let go and let God” is a reminder that peace
is lurking underneath the façade of control.

HEALTHY PERSPECTIVES FOR VIBRANT LIVING
Honoring Rites of Passage
By Charlotte Carreira
It is the end of the year and I am moving. The place I have cherished as home for the
past 18 years is returning to its rightful owners as they retire. I am looking, choosing,
packing, letting go. As I take down window coverings and pictures and begin to sell
furniture and mementos of the past, I see how the amazing place I once called home becomes a standard box of
walls, floors and windows. It really is true. Home is what we make it and where our heart is.
As I started listing items to sell and eager buyers showed up, I experienced the sacred participation of completing
my past and helping others to create their future. As I sold the antique dining table and chairs my history
presented itself: it was used in my first business office, then it changed its usefulness to the first home after getting
married, and then became the centerpiece where my life as a single parent with 2 children shared many
discussions and meals as we grew together, and then finally back to a home office where clients shared their
concerns, dreams and desires in consultation and healing. Whoosh! After 35 years of being an active part of my
family, the simple table and chairs becomes an instrument of love for an excited young couple with a toddler to
start their own rituals for family meals. Their first dining set represented a sort of rites of passage from my past
memories to create their new memories.
It is only a piece of furniture, an inanimate object, but it is most certainly an energetic part of the life we create…it
is just as important as we are live beings growing and moving in this universe. The place I called home for the past
18 years has its own purpose in serving those who come to abide.
As I let go, not knowing what the specific future holds, I become less fearful and certainly more excited and
hopeful. The form in which my life expresses itself will unfold, and the essence of what we create lies within our
hearts. For me, peace filled with love, joy, trust, comfort, friendship, family, partnership, humor, and adventure will
be the container for my future. As it shows up I will know it. It will ring yes in my being.
I look forward to the incredible opportunities that await me to create my new rites of passage. Writing for Sibyl
during this past year has been a journey of listening and expressing the Divine that has served all of us who
read this magazine of spiritual empowerment. I look forward to hearing how life unfolds for all our sisters on this
planet and the powerful impact we will make for generations to come.
Happy sacred holidays to everyone.

LIVE –– LOVE –– LIBERATE
Christmas … and Making Merry
By Tori Kayson
While our children were growing up, we lived in Florida, where winters and cooler
temperatures were non-existent. So, every winter break we loaded the car with snow
sleds, Christmas presents, and our portable fake tree and traveled to some faraway state,
a place guaranteed to find snow.
After arriving at our rental condominium, we’d tuck all the presents under that miniature tree. Then, we’d snuggle
in front of the fireplace and cheer for our favorite football teams or watch a movie, sipping hot chocolate loaded
with whipped cream and sprinkles.
In the morning, we’d rush to the window to catch that first glimpse of a newly fallen snow. We rarely saw snow in
Florida, so to us, it was beautiful. So clean, perfect and unspoiled, and always shimmered like diamonds.
On one particular trip to Minnesota, we discovered the destructive nature of those beautiful white flakes. During
our two-day drive through single digit temperatures, it snowed and soaked through some of the items secured on
top of the car. Then, they froze. Care to guess what we packed on top of the car? Exactly! The gifts. How do you tell
your children that they’ll have to accept an IOU for Christmas?
We learned a few lessons that year. One, always pack the presents inside the car, everything else on top. Second,
that snow isn’t always pristine. It can be dirty and destructive and wreak havoc, not just on the roads, but hits you in
the wallet. Lastly, that Christmas is not all about brightly wrapped packages nestled under a tree. All those frantic
trips to the mall before we left, including the last minute binges to search for the perfect gift for that family member
who has everything, made no difference in the bigger picture.
No. Because Christmas is not all about making merry.
Christmas is about a baby boy born in a musty stable and wrapped in swaddling clothes. It’s about heaven’s best,
God-man, coming down to mingle among sin, smelly animals and poop. Christmas is about hope and grace, about
Jesus. It’s about a perfect love that rights all wrongs, about a love that knows no bounds, a love that gives and
never gives up. Christmas is true love, amazing, limitless, powerful. Christmas is the season for miracles and a
chance for a fresh start. Through His precious Son, God takes a giant eraser and wipes away our grunge. Unlike our
gifts, His gift never spoils.
Wishing you a love-kissed Christmas,
friends, and a blessed 2017! Thank you for
faithfully reading my articles this year!
God bless!

PEACE, POWER, AND MIRACLES
If You’re Seeking Balance, You’re Settling
By Dawn Petalino
In 2006, I hit burnout in a big way. My marriage crashed, my career crashed, and I
crashed. So, for nine months I stepped out of life. With no agenda and no
responsibilities beyond myself, I caught my breath. I felt my heartbeat for the first time in
a long time.
However, as Spirit would have it, resting came to an end and it was time to work again. I opened my own tutoring
business in 2007 and coaching/healing business in 2011. Many times along the way, I drove myself too hard. Like
impatient children tugging at my sleeves, something always seemed to need my attention. As a result, I’d fill up
my “down time” with errands, household chores, or paperwork and emails. Too tired to think, I’d settle down with
a glass of wine and bag of pretzels at eleven o’clock at night, numbing myself out just to refuel.
I spent the better part of my life vacillating between doing too much and doing nothing. Bravely, I started making
changes, taking chances, and setting aside time to rest. This was an improvement. I now took naps during the
day, stopped in my day for coffee, or made play dates with friends. Nonetheless, I still looked forward to Friday
nights, felt more alive on Saturdays, and mentally prepped myself for Monday’s arrival. Work, chores, and free-
time were still separate categories in my life.
Why is it, I wondered, do Saturdays feel different? Why am I more eager? Does it really depend upon the day’s
agenda whether I feel alive or not? This didn’t make sense to me. Why would our soul feel more free in play and
not work? Though I didn’t agree with the widely accepted division between the two, for a long time I believed
that’s just how things were.
Then came a time when the work I loved no longer motivated me. Depression weighed down each pursuit like
hardened cement. In a desperate act to feel better, I stopped doing whatever felt heavy. I let go of the goals I
strove to make happen, the future I envisioned, and the determination to push through. In a word, I quit.
I finally let go of my plans and surrendered to whatever was trying to get my attention. Paradoxically, when I let go
of my attachment to making anything happen in the world, I began enjoying my life. ALL OF IT! Without a
separation between work, chores, family, and play, there was only me doing what I was doing at any given
moment. Without a future to get to, I could enjoy where I was. Without an agenda, I simply showed up, open
without expectation. Life became a series of
moments, an interchange between me and
the Universe, only this time, I wasn’t in
charge. And suddenly, every day became
Saturday.

THE ART OF EMPOWERMENT
The Divine Always Supports You
By Deborah Austin

Life is about actualizing our God given potential and going beyond our often self-
imposed limits. Remember that The Divine created you for greatness! If you stay stuck
within the status quo you are not growing personally, professionally or spiritually. Why is
it then, do some of us feel that we have to remain limited, when that is simply not the
case? As human beings, each of us is designed to shine in our way.
Daring and taking risks is something that most people grapple with throughout their lifetime for a variety of
reasons. Most people have not achieved their heart’s desire because they stay stuck within the status quo and
don’t try new things. Through maintaining the status quo in life, you will become stagnant if you are not using your
gifts and talents to their fullest capacity. We all know that anything in life that is worth having involves hard work,
determination, and relentless pursuit of goals.  How then can you accelerate your journey to realizing your
dreams. There are numerous ways that this can be done.
The first is to be conscious of  your mortality. The truth of the matter is that we all know that we are living on
borrowed time. Instead of living in fear of the inevitable, let’s use this knowledge to free ourselves in order to live
the best possible life. If one day we are going to leave the mortal coil, we shouldn’t be intimidated or scared to try
to new things. Be purposeful, dare and take calculated risks. Make each day count! The second thing we can do to
accelerate the trajectory towards our dreams is to eliminate or let go of the need for external approval for how we
live our lives.  As long as we are not breaking any laws or  hurting anyone how we live our lives is our choice.  Let
go of your need to be approved of and liked all the time.  Pursue your dreams and heart’s desire with passion and
determination. The third way that we can accelerate our journey is through committed, strategic action!
Each of you has something special to contribute to the planet based on  your unique gifts. The fact that you are on
the planet means that you already beat the odds to be here. You are here because of God’s Divine plan for your
life. You have what it takes to be a success in life. For some of you that means being an excellent parent, spouse,
child or family member. It could mean being a great friend, active in your faith or volunteer community, creating
art, or being successful in your career among
many possibilities.
Always remember to pursue your dreams and
never give up. The Divine will always support
your endeavors for your highest good.

LET’S GET REAL AND HEAL
Mirror, Mirror … On the Wall
By Wanda L. Brown
Although people often remarked that I was beautiful, (my outward appearance), for
years, I resented looking into the mirror. I did not see what others saw. Rather, I peeked
at pain, guilt, and shame. The larger the mirror, the more magnified my flaws and
sorrows were for just being me. One day, I awakened, identified my story, and decided that a much-needed
change was going to happen.
I had resented looking in the mirror so much that I never learned how to correctly apply make-up, but I asked no
questions and began to remove my mask. As I began to pull layers of wounds off of myself, I began to get in touch
with the essence of who I am as I washed my face daily.
As I began to sort my dirty laundry, looking inside provided me with a wealth of opportunities to get in touch with
my core, as I removed liabilities that did not belong to me. I placed these upon the shoulder of them who they
belonged without resentment. I took ownership of my mistakes, and I laid down the quilt, as I allowed guilt to be
what it should be; a red flag that alerted me that I needed to change my direction. Eventually, I found the perfect
opportunity for transformation, which no silver or gold could compete…Absolutely, change is priceless. I began
to identify and alter behaviors that were not befitting to a queen.
Previously in my life, I isolated, and the cloud over my head would not move. Now, I embrace opportunities to be
in the company of those who love themselves and accept me. I keep my space sacred because I understand that
my sanctuary is not a church, but rather it is inside of me.
Now when I look in the mirror, I no longer see a victim, but rather a beautiful and strong woman who has
overcome many challenges. My beauty is from the inside out. The physical features that I possess are a
mysterious dynamic of genes, but that which is on the inside is what I was created to be. In order to find that, I
needed to unclutter my gut, and become free to be and love myself.
From the day that I was born, I was fearlessly and wonderfully made, but the mirror did not present that to me. Or
was it that I was blind and could not see? I still do not wear make-up, nor did I take a class as a cosmetologist,
because I understand that make-up does not
change who I am at my core. That my
friends, cannot be painted. Today, I look to
God with eyes of love, and I thank Him for the
beautiful person that He created me to be,
because I do not despise who I see in the
mirror inside or outside of me.

DANCING ACROSS THE RAINBOW BRIDGE
Let There Be Light
By Pauline Hadley
And so the year comes full circle ….. December is a time when New Light comes onto
the Earth on the Winter Solstice of 21st
December, but first we must step through the
final double digit Gateway of the 12.12…… open your heart and let a higher vibration
enter your life on this significant day.
The Winter Solstice is a doubly special day for me as it is the birthday of my beautiful twin granddaughters. Being
a ‘twin birth’ an earlier delivery is chosen by the doctor rather than waiting full term and I spent many hours
wondering how this worked when a ‘birth day’ was chosen by the doctor rather than waiting for baby deciding to
come into the world at their given moment in time. There was the option to have them before or after Christmas.
When it was decided to bring them before Christmas I checked my numerology and suggested to my son that the
21st
would be a good day! Only to be told it would take place when the doctor chose! Okay – so I put it up to the
Universe and waited! After the final scan a date was given, and guess what – it was the 21st
December!! I let out a
rather loud YEEESSS on hearing the news! I do love it when a plan comes together in divine timing!
The night before the birth I sat and tuned into these two beautiful souls who were coming to join our family and I
had the most wondrous vision. I saw Mother Mary holding one in each arm descending through the angelic
realms into the Earth plane. She was surrounded by a host of golden angels, it was the most incredible sight I
have ever seen and tears just rolled down my face at such beauty.
The magic doesn’t stop there as the following day the birth was scheduled for 9am but there was an emergency and
they were moved to the next slot and born at 11am – 11 being master number! And so it was that this new light
came onto the Earth through my twin granddaughters and they have been such a joy and a magical gift for us all.
Christmas lights shine through the whole of this month as people decorate their homes with a myriad of colourful
lights. I love seeing all these beautiful rainbow colours dancing. Let us remember to take this light into our hearts
then send it out across the world to all those
who are not so fortunate to be surrounded
in this magical Christ-mas light. Let’s send a
prayer that we bring light and joy and
lasting PEACE to every corner of this sweet
Earth and all who live upon her.
It has been a joy to Dance Across the
Rainbow Bridge with you throughout 2016.
I send you all radiant blessings for a magical
Christmas and a most Joyful New Year.

IF NOT NOW WHEN
Be Peace: Gratitude + Forgiveness + Passion
By Carol Lukitsch
Marcus Aurelius said “Our life is what our thoughts make it”. These are wise words to guide us
through this tumultuous post-election period. We must BE peace in order to move forward in a
meaningful way. If we give in to ongoing expressions of fear, anger and hatred, that is all we will
be capable of manifesting in reality. On the other hand if we hold an intention to be
compassionate, open-minded and open-hearted, we can transcend the toxic atmosphere which surrounds us. Only love can
resolve the climate of fear we are in right now. And each of us must choose between love and fear because it is one or the
other; the two cannot coexist.
I have just returned from the Sibella Writers’ Retreat in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. How good it was to be in an
environment that is grounded in faith, art, tradition and family. At the same time, San Miguel is a town with a creative and
sophisticated expat community that knows how to party, laugh and have fun and is inclusive of different lifestyles. The expats I
met were inspiring in their genuine caring and dedicated giving, both one on one to individuals as well as supporting the
community through non-profit charitable organizations. People there are not whining about politics and the government, but
seem to try to be the change they want to see. Volunteerism is widespread and help for those caught in the cycle of poverty is
a priority. I also observed an open and moving intimacy among friends.
In giving of ourselves we feel useful, empowered and free. Depending on government to solve all our needs and problems is
unrealistic and counterproductive. Compassion, empathy and good character still cannot successfully be legislated. But
generosity of spirit can work miracles. Maybe the simple biblical dictum to “Love your neighbor as yourself” is pretty much the
secret to living well. Miscommunication is at the root of so many problems. We must listen to one another, express ourselves
clearly and keep our word. We can do these things whether our leaders do or not.
Here in our own country, many of us actively volunteer our time and resources to help those less fortunate and hopefully we
can focus on expanding that involvement. Unfortunately, too many of us have gotten caught up in a tribal us-versus-them
mentality, where a person’s political affiliation substitutes for a true identity. In this polarized environment, any dissenting
opinion subjects a person to name-calling and ridicule. This is a way insecure persons make themselves feel superior to
others. It really is time to unite and work together.
Let’s hope that as 2016 comes to a close we can
put an end to the intolerance that has taken hold
of our citizens. Sometimes things have to get
worse before they can get better. In 2016 things
got worse for our nation. Here’s hoping that in
2017 each of us will personally do something
radically positive to make things better.

TRUE BEAUTY SHINES WITHIN YOU
What Do You Choose in Life?
By Sandy Townsend
I remember the day I received the email about my article being accepted by Sibyl
Magazine. I was really excited. Then I found out I would be required to write monthly
articles for the entire year. Fear crept in! I replied back to Sibyl saying, “can I say no, I do
not even know what I would write about”. She replied back by simply stating it’s my
choice. You do have something to share.
How often do we all do this in our lives? We are so stopped by fear, by the feeling of not being good enough or
by thinking we do not have anything to contribute, as I did. The mental process of doubt and lack of self-esteem
overtake us. We stop ourselves from doing or becoming what we really want to do or become. Yet we know that
if we took that leap of faith it would bring us growth and open us up to those passionate expansive moments in
our lives. We all know this on some level, but we still want to keep ourselves clinging to the safety of the old way.
We feel it is the best place for us to be. Why do we do this?
Every decision we make creates our circumstances in life. When we push ourselves to move forward in our lives
all our emotional stuff comes up. We blame others for the reason that we are not doing what we want to do. We
make excuses. We want change but get frustrated and we try to blame things outside of ourselves instead of
ultimately taking responsibility for ourselves.
Everything we have in our lives exists because of our actions, behaviors, habits, words, and thoughts. There is
always a fork in the road and we have a choice. We can do things the same or we can take a different path and
open up to an amazing possibility. The simple action of taking a chance will open you up to those possibilities.
I am thankful that I made the choice to step up to the challenge of writing for this magazine to see what I could
create. I feel that I have grown from the opportunity to write monthly articles. Having to search deep within and see
what wanted to be expressed each month has given me a sense of self-worth. Although at times it was a challenge, I
feel achievements are not created easily but often take work. The greatest athletes spend countless hours
perfecting their game. To achieve anything in
life you must also have the dedication and
drive to accomplish. As this yearlong journey
of writing articles comes to an end, I know this
experience will help me in the future with my
next experience. Just as a house is built one
brick at a time our lives and learning is done
in a similar order. Learn to enjoy and do your
best in all that you do in life.

UNLOCK YOUR SOUL TREASURE AND SHINE
If Ever There Was a Time ...
By Bobbe Bramson
True confession: I voted for Hillary Clinton. Not because I loved her (I didn’t), but
because I felt the other choice was too horrifying to even contemplate. I also voted for
her because she was a she, and at minimum I thought we might finally crash through the
big glass ceiling America seems so reluctant to shatter. I fell asleep the night of
November 8th
in one reality and woke up on November 9th to a world changed, literally overnight!
I felt like a deer in headlights…stunned and frozen with shock. I felt physically ill, unable to process the
magnitude of the shift that had just occurred. Grieving, angry, and confused, I wondered how on earth I was
going to make it through the next week, much less the next four years. All this emotional turmoil stirred up an
inevitable flood of questions:
How could we as Americans have voted for a man who by all appearances, words, and deeds is a demagogue, a
bigot, an inciter and fomenter of hatred and violence, and a misogynist to boot? How had the divide in America
become so deep and wide that over half of its citizens and none of the ‘experts’ were aware of it? Would it be
possible to fix a system so obviously broken? Could this disruptive, turned-inside-out world actually be the
wakeup call…the wound to let the Light in?
Meditating on these questions I do my best to undo the hard knots of fear, disbelief, and heartache at my core. I
sense that it’s imperative I do so: whatever I find
objectionable ‘out there’ in the collective is probably a
projection of my own disavowed dark stuff. Think about it.
If our outcast projections have brought us to this juncture
in history then hadn’t we better do our inner work before
it’s too late?
So how do we stay openhearted and centered during
revolutionary times like these, accepting what is, yet not
slipping into denial and complacency? I don’t know how
you will answer this. But for me, I must walk that fine line
with as much courage and love, integrity and decency,
hope and faith as I can muster. I will aspire to maintain my
vessel of Light by clearing my own darkness and fear as
they arise, by allowing others their points of view, and by
exercising my spiritual activism.
If ever there was a time to hold the highest and best vision
for our world; to plant seeds of love, inclusion, and peace
so they might take root and blossom… this is that time. If
ever there was a time to believe that our voices lifted up in
service to what’s just and good can make a miraculous
difference; to be FOR and not rail against…this is that time.
And if ever there was a time to look for and find the visage
of The One in every person you meet...this is that time.

SOUL MESSAGES FROM WITHIN
Dance Me to the End of Love
By Alison Strandberg
I have just read that Leonard Cohen has passed away. I followed the words of this
passionate and wise poet and artist from teenage years and beyond. He spoke of
love, which to me in my early teenage years, was not always something I fully
understood, but the words he chose moved me and lit up my soul. I wanted that
sense of passion in my life, no matter whether I understood it or not. His words followed me through each part
of my life and illuminated each emotional upset or trauma with the understanding that someone else had been
there and knew where I was and what I was feeling.
Having always been a romantic and more aware of the sad side of life, I empathized with the words and felt there
was a door or a portal he looked through to come to the depths from where his soul was speaking. It ignited the
fire in me to connect with that source – the source of course is love. That source is always present within us
whether we know it or not. In those times of deep, deep soul-searching and feeling lost, this presence, which I will
call Love, held me and cajoled me to keep going no matter what. It cannot be seen, but oh how it can be felt. The
lost soul in the desert of the soul need no longer feel lost, for every grain of sand is calling out that one is loved.
As I dance on on this path, which we call life, I become more and more aware of this loving presence, which is in
fact a part of me. I can choose to experience the depths of loss and turmoil, for I know that I will always be safe
even when I feel most afraid. As a soul, who is learning from each experience, I do not need to fear any more. In
this dance I am always accompanied and by a dance partner who dearly loves me and wants me to learn from
each painful experience, in order that we can dance a more joyful and passionate dance.
I know now that the dances will be many along the way; some will be filled with magic and intricate foot work and
others will render me almost immovable, but each dance will be part of my learning and my life experience and I
welcome each dance as it teaches me. My dance partner knows the steps and helps me to put my feet forward
even when I don't dare or have lost the will to do so. I need never fear this Dance. My dance partner will never
leave me.
The words of encouragement came softly.”
Never let the dance make you fearful, for
your dance partner is Love. Love will never
let you go.”

GODDESS TEMPLES OF GOLDEN LIGHT
Inner Peace and Love Yourself
By Linda Jarrett
Finding Inner Peace sounds easy but it can be difficult as the days seem shorter
because time has speeded up and life seems more complicated than it used to be,
and this can cause much stress. So simplify your life, make things easy, and take one day
at a time, as simplifying your life will create inner peace and harmony.
Have acceptance of others, their behaviour, their views, their looks, as this will give you inner peace and calm
instead of anger and resentment. When you accept other people for who they are then you will feel a stillness
inside of you. This does not mean give up or put up with, but know that you will be able to change any situation
by your calm approach. Getting stressed does us no good at all, so why do it in the first place all it does is make
us think emotionally and irrationally. You cannot change those around you but you certainly can change yourself
so start by loving yourself. Let go of the past, old patterning, old ways of thinking, old programming, and start to
be your authentic self, the real you.
Forgive others as forgiving others is very important as you cannot move forward if you are always living in the
past, equally do not live in the future either. When you forgive others its make it so much easier to forgive yourself
for what you did or did not do last year or many years ago. Try to live from day to day in a calm grounded way. Do
not give way to distractions, keep to what you had originally planned for that day that way you will feel as if you
have made progress and achieved something. So live in the present moment, live Now.
Enjoy life make it pleasurable, do what you enjoy doing, whether that’s yoga, going to the gym, singing in a choir,
drawing, painting, meditating, going for a walk in nature, visiting a family member or neighbour or anything else
that you enjoy, do it as this will give immense pleasure. Take time for you time to love yourself. Do not do anything
in a hurry, be still, be quiet, be calm. Be happy do not do things that make you sad, or if you need to do
something sad see the good in the sadness and lift up your spirits by thinking positive thoughts.
Inner Peace or inner calmness refers to a state of being mentally and spiritually. Inner Peace brings serenity,
calmness, balance, harmony and stillness of mind. You will be stress free if you live life simply, accept, forgive,
enjoy life and to keep you in this frame of mind meditate or go for a walk in nature.
So - bring towards you Inner Peace and
Love Yourself always.

BE FULLY ALIVE
That Word Love
By Mikaya Heart

When I was very young, the man who molested me said, "I love you." At first, I loved
him, because he was attentive and kind to me. Then I realized that when he said "I love
you", he meant, "My sexual desire is out of control, and I must use your body in this
fashion whatever the cost. If you love me, which you should, you will let me do these
things to you without resistance or complaint, and you will forgive me, and you will never tell anyone."
In my teens, when boys said, "I love you,” they clearly meant, "You're mine, I own you, and when we appear in
public together you will behave in an appropriate manner. I'll have sex with you whenever I want, and you must at
least make an appearance of enjoying what I do to you." Or sometimes, they just meant, "I'm really horny right
now, give me access to your body so that I can come."
When I asked my mother what sex was, she told me that when a man loved a woman, his penis got bigger. I
decided that if love was what that made that happen, then I didn’t want anything to do with it.
When my father said, "I love you," he meant, "I'm sorry you seem to be hurt by the things I do and say, but
someone must bear the brunt of my frustrated rage, so you'd better just endure it."
When my mother said, "I love you," she meant, "I'm sorry that I’m not able to protect you like good mothers
should, and that I haven't adequately been able to hide the fact that I never wanted to have you. I really need your
forgiveness."
When my female lovers said, "I love you," they meant, "I admire who you are and I want to have access to you
whenever I desire so that your qualities will be seen as mine too. I want to control everything you do, so that you
will never leave me."
What did I mean when I said, "I love you"? I certainly meant, “Please don't hurt me.” I meant, “Life is too hard,
please make it easier for me, and overlook all the times I nag and bitch at you.” I meant, “Please see more of me
than the tough exterior I present, and love that other side of me, or, at least, please don't make fun of it.”
Now that I’m older and wiser, I want those
three words to mean, "I see the wholeness
of all that you are in this moment, and I
accept you without judgment, honoring
your unique infinite beauty. In this moment
my heart is joined with yours and I know
that we are not separate beings. I support
you absolutely in being fully who you are,
even if that means that you will go away and
I will never see you again."

FINDING BALANCE & HARMONY
The Heart of Balance and Harmony
By Donna Adams
The past 11 months have been rich with opportunities of lessons and growth. The
year began with the decision to take my career path on a new direction with the
excitement of enhancing and growing my energy medicine practice and the prospect
of a business partnership. However, the partnership was not meant to be. The lesson I
learned from that experience is that I am capable of running my own business and look forward to doing so in
the coming year.
Writing for Sibyl Magazine has been a rewarding experience in that I found myself comfortable in being able to
express and share my personal and professional experiences and knowledge with each and everyone one of you.
Such a joy it has been, even though at times it was challenging to discern what new article to write each month.
I left the comfort of my oncology nursing career and took on a new venture in the gastrointestinal world. I truly
enjoy working with this patient population and have enjoyed getting to know my colleagues at this practice
over the past 9 months. This is a part time position for me, which affords me the ability to pursue the growth of
my energy medicine practice while keeping my nursing skills up.
I have provided editing services to several holistic mentors in my life and have assisted with the publishing of
books and training programs to include Healing Touch Program, meditation training, and other various energy
medicine practices. I also edited my late husband’s novel, Waypoint to Revenge, which is published in his
memory and now available on Amazon as an e-book.
I experienced a fall in late August, injuring my face and right hand. This was during a time when I felt like
everything was going my way, I had a lot of decisions to make and ideas I wanted to move on. It was clear to
me that the Universe was telling me to slow down and take some time to reflect and focus on my own healing. I
realized that I was constantly focused on others’ needs and not taking time for myself.
I was introduced to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico in October and met some fabulous writers from Sibyl
Magazine who are from Boston, California, Indiana and Virginia. I am so grateful to have experienced the beauty
and charm of San Miguel with these women and value the friendships that blossomed during our time together. If
you’ve never been to San Miguel or to
Mexico, I highly recommend you visit San
Miguel for you will enjoy the locals, the
culture, architecture and charm of this
magnificent city that sits atop quartz crystals.
As the year comes to a close, my heart as
well as my body, mind and spirit feel
completely in balance and harmony. I wish
you all the best for the New Year!

CONNECTING HEART AND SOUL
Holiday Visitors
By Sarina Baptista

The stress of the holidays can be overwhelming at best. When you have lost someone
you love, it can be hard to find the magic of the season. All you think about are the times
with your loved one and what joy they brought to your life, and how that is gone now.
This is our tenth year without our oldest child, J.T. In March 2007 at the age of seven, he
made his way back home, joining my father who passed in 1995 and my husband’s mother who passed in 1983. I
am one of the blessed ones as I have communication with my son, which has made a huge difference in how I look
at this time of year.

My schedule fills quickly in November and December with grieving clients who miss their loved ones and just
want to know they are alright. I can tell you from my experience, they are more than “alright”—they are wonderful!
One of the most important messages I hear time and time again is, “We are with you. We celebrate, too. Look for
us during your celebrations. Where else would we be?” This is true for all of our loved ones who have passed.
Helping us with our grief is the most important job for them. Yes, they are doing other things as well, but they are
never too busy to “stop by” and help us remember how much they love us.

So, what does this look like? It could be the smell of your mom’s cookies. Maybe a bird who sings to you. A breeze
that comes out of nowhere. That song on the radio that was your dad’s favorite. These are all ways our loved ones
try to reach us.

I remember one Christmas, before I knew I was a medium, we were celebrating Christmas Eve where we always
did, my husband’s Godparents. We were opening presents, having a wonderful time, when the clock fell off the
wall. There was no reason for this to happen—nail was intact, no sign of a problem. At the moment it happened, I
said to my husband, “It’s your mom. She’s letting us know she is celebrating with us.” How did I know this? It came
out of my mouth with conviction and authority. I knew it was true, but had no idea why. Later, I would find this was
just part of the gifts I now share with others.

The point is they are here. They love us, they
celebrate with us, and they want us to know
they are okay. So the next time something
like this happens to you, and you think of
your loved one, believe it is them, and say, “I
love you, too.” Know they are with you,
celebrating in ways we can only imagine.
Where else would they be?

THIS TOO SHALL PASS
By Sibyl English
There comes a time to say goodbye
To let go, bid farewell to the past
Realize ... the pain you’re going through right now
It didn’t come to last
Now, close your eyes and say a prayer
Whisper softly, “this too shall pass”
Understand … this trying season, is but for a reason
And you’ll get through this challenging task
Usually, at the end of a road there’s a winding
That will lead you to a safe and sacred space
But you mustn’t get lost in the heartache and pain
Time is precious; not a moment to waste
Keep in mind, there will be good days and bad days
And some unsavory days mixed in between
No matter how dark the night, press through to the Light
It’s NEVER as dark as it may seem

BENEFITS OF SPIRITUAL SUBTLETIES
Sabbatical
By Kim Pentecost
Looking back over this year, it has been one dedicated to writing my heart’s truth and
also, a sabbatical, of sorts.
Like most self-employed people, I’m a type A personality – many things going on,
several projects in development and always working. Typically, this invigorates me and I
am fulfilled. A year ago, that came to a screeching halt. My interest in anything all but
disappeared. My brain went silent and I had no creativity. Not surprisingly, I was more
than a little freaked out. Worse, I was too tired to care. It was a bizarre time.
At first I thought I might be dying. As that notion passed, I developed concern that my
mind had suddenly become old. After a seemingly inordinate amount of time, I finally
understood that I was experiencing a Shamanic death and rebirth. That comforted my
heart and released my fear. I began to give myself permission to be, to not drive to
accomplish, and to enjoy watching the sunrises and wildlife on my creek.
Slowly, I gained a new perspective on life. I relished my time to breathe, walk and play
with the kitties. I read more. I laughed more. I began to understand the abyss I had
created to insulate myself from the world. But I still couldn’t feel anything beyond the
present moment.
During this time, I heard from colleagues around the globe that they were on similar
sabbaticals. We discussed being troubled and confused as to whether we actually
wanted to reconnect with the world in some significant way. If so, how would we do
that? We bounced from yes to no, and back, depending on where we were in the
transmutation of our old selves.
I truly understand why so many people die shortly after retiring. Moving into stillness is
a tough adjustment. It is scary, lonely and totally disconcerting. It takes an enormous
amount of self-love, self-forgiveness, patience and perseverance into what – one
doesn’t know!
I am far enough through the process that I can begin to feel myself being reborn. I see
glimmers of my future and new self. I have moments building into minutes of
reassurance and confidence. My mind is starting to whisper ideas.
My commitment to and quality of work with my clients never wavered through this
sabbatical, though the number of clients I could work with dramatically decreased.
Continuing to be of service has been a great comfort and joy.
The lessons and epiphanies continue to come fast and furiously. One huge and joyful
discovery is that I want more from life. As a friend put it, I want a full life, a life where
nothing is left on a bucket list. I know that when I am on the other side of this partial
sabbatical, I will have the energy, ability, connection and passion to live my fullest life.

MAXIMAL LIVING
Trust and Enjoy Your Journey

By Maxima May Forslund
It is important to trust our journey.  When we are at peace and placing love and light in every
situation, things continue to manifest unexpectedly especially when we least expect it.  Before,
during and after my Belgium trip where I had the honor to speak at the Holistic Health Congress
for Edgar Cayce A.R.E., I could not believe the number of things that manifested along the way.  I
had the feeling that my angels were working overtime.
As I packed for my trip I was thinking, “If only I had a nice scarf to wear since it may be cold in Europe?”  Living in Hawaii,
we don’t need warm items like this.  To my surprise, a few days later, a friend whom I just met gifted me with a beautiful
laced scarf.  It was more than I expected.  I was also thinking that needed a pair of shoes since the rubber soles of the
shoes I owned had deteriorated because of the warm Hawaii weather.  In Hawaii, I mainly wear sandals and flip flops.  It
was just a coincidence that Macy’s was having a huge sale.  I was so excited since I was able to purchase a pair of shoes
that I would never wear in Hawaii.
My trip included a 10 hour layover in Washington, D.C., so I had time to visit the National Mall and Memorial Parks.  I had
scheduled a Segway tour beforehand but it was not exactly what I wanted.  At the check-in counter, the tour guide
mentioned that I was the only one registered so he would be able to tour me anywhere I wanted.  It was a tour I dreamed
of doing.  It was a gorgeous day with the President flying over our heads as he left for a trip from the White House.  I
couldn’t have asked for a better tour.
After an 11 hour flight home from Frankfurt, Germany to San Francisco, I missed my connecting flight to Kona.  The next flight home
was not until the next day.  I contacted my husband to let him know my situation.  I made the comment that I just checked my
luggage in and if I would have known, I would have transferred a few things to my carry-on, such as a change of clothes and
toothbrush.  Little did I know that a woman in a wheelchair was listening to my conversation.  As soon as I hung-up, she came over
to hand me a small leather like bag.  She mentioned
that she got it from business class and there was a
toothbrush in it.  It included a toothbrush,
toothpaste, socks, and other useful items.  It was
more I than needed.  I was also thankful for my
cousin living only 15 minutes away from the airport
to be able to visit and sleep over his place.
It has been a blessing for me to write for Sibyl
Magazine so that I could connect and share my
blessings with you.  Aloha and mahalo for an
amazing journey!

MEANINGFUL MOMENTS SHARED WITH LOVE
The Power of Love
By Sue Malcolm
Ten days ago I was asked to help a very poorly 22 year old cat. She’d had a good life
but was suffering from heart failure and had collapsed as a result of a suspected stroke.
The vet had been booked for a final home visit, when this dearly beloved family member
would peacefully leave our world.
The owner asked if I could possibly send some Reiki to her cat Mia, knowing this holistic complementary had
helped her stress, headache and discomfort and the ‘fear of unknown people’ her other cat had suffered. “Of
course” I replied and I sent ‘distant healing’. The owner rang me on the Monday morning to say that her dear
companion had a new spring in her step and the vet’s visit had been cancelled.
Whilst offering Reiki I communicated with Mia. She shared her knowledge of ill health and nervousness of what
would follow. I was able to put her at ease regarding the departure from earthly life that comes to us all. She then
told me about her seeing her sister in the corner of the room, watching over her and protecting her. She informed
me that this other cat, who had been very close to her, was going to be waiting to meet Mia as she arrived in
heaven. Her fear subsided as I felt a sense of serene calmness take its place. I experienced a release from my
body and Mia apparently let out an enormous sigh simultaneously. She told me “I’m ready to go now. I’m not
frightened any more”. I could have cried with joy and simply asked if there was anything I could do. “Please keep
sending me Reiki” came her reply.
Nearly two weeks on from that phone call, she is pottering around, enjoying cuddles and savouring life far too
much to be ready for her spirit to ascend and I am sending a daily dose of lovely relaxing energy.
Reiki came into my life totally out of the blue as it does with so many practitioners, when the time is right for us to
serve our Creator and fulfil our desires of helping others. What’s so lovely is that anyone can learn this technique.
Learning to offer Reiki led to me discovering from a dying dog that humans can communicate with animals in a
way I never dreamed possible too. When we feel deep and unconditional love amazing things can happen.
Seeing how holistic and complementary therapies can transform the lives of animals encouraged me to drive
forward what I know to be my life’s purpose – setting up a charity holistic animal hospital, pet therapy centre
(where we will train therapists too) and rescue venture to change the face of animal care in the UK. Friends Of
Baxter is my dream and it’s starting to
become a reality. If you are not fulfilled and
have something you’d really love to do, do it!
You’ve been given that feeling for a reason.
You only live this life once - make it truly
AMAZING!

SOUL JOURNEYS
The Morning After
By Roberta Z. Gilgore
As I reflect on this past year, which was marred by a brutal presidential election, I
suspect that instead of the typical post-New Year’s Eve hangover, most people will be
ushering in the New Year with a severe case of post-traumatic stress. Ralph Waldo
Emerson once said “We learn geology after an earthquake.” Fortunately, my past
experiences in politics have taught me how to take a wider view of the current state of affairs and damaging fallout
that is sweeping across the nation.
There was a time in my life when I was actively involved in both state and local political campaigns in upstate New
York, including working for both the Governor and Attorney General. While desiring to make a positive difference
in my community, I regrettably witnessed the seedier side of politics and government, where campaigns are about
winning above all else, even to the point of political parties throwing their own candidates under the bus.
Unfortunately, once an election is over, the opposing parties go back to business as usual without any lingering
affects while the electorate is left feeling beaten up, abused and even traumatized.
As I watched the political drama unfold this past year, I found myself observing, rather than getting caught up in a
flawed system that was quickly imploding. By not allowing fear to cloud my vision, I was able to see that an
implosion was just what the doctor ordered. The ensuing fallout from my perspective is the final wake-up call our
country needed to shake itself out of complacency.
Witnessing the fear and anger that is bleeding onto our streets, I am reminded just how deep the wounds of racism,
economic slavery and endless wars still exist in each of us. The real enemy, however, is not something to be found
outside of us or in a broken political system. The real enemy lives deep within our own personal wounding. If we
have the courage to look deeper within ourselves, however, we will find that we have more in common with our
perceived enemies than differences. Let’s be honest. Have we never unfairly judged another person? Have we never
said or acted in a way that was hurtful to another? Until we have the courage to face our shadows and wounding, we
cannot begin the healing process that can ultimately help us create positive changes in our communities.
As we move into 2017, we are all being called upon to look deeper into the darkest corners of our soul in order to
free ourselves from painful experiences and destructive patterns we give so much power to and project onto
others. It’s time to walk our talk—expressing unity and loving resolve to create positive solutions and results.
Together, we can do so much more, and
perhaps as time goes by, forgiveness and
acceptance will give birth to a more
compassionate and loving world.
Today, I choose love over fear. I hope you will
join me.

TAKE SOUL POWERED LEAPS
Stand Up
By Diana Lovitt
The US election made it clear, now is the time for us to step into what we women are here to do. I
feel it so strong in my bones. It’s a call to action, to love, to seek truth, to caretake, to serve, to
gather, to strengthen, and to understand.
It is a definitive time to stand for what and who we want to be as women and a people. What’s not
working? We can no longer hide in the little safe patches we’ve created…we need to step out, step up, stand up, and show
up for what we believe. For the truth, the love, the beauty, and the healing that is ready to come into being.
This will be different for each of us and that is okay. This is a lesson too.
It is not going to be easy. It is not going to be effortless. It’ll probably get worse before it gets better. Drop into your heart
and know your truth when this happens. This is where you know who you are. And showing up authentically is powerful.
I believe what’s most necessary right now is for us to be strong in our being. To find that inner knowing, truth, and support
that you have inside. Embrace the tools you need to get here. I know I will be putting my spiritual tools and practices to
greater use. I will also be leaning on my community of friends and family more. I will take advantage of healing sessions and
consultations, spa days, healthy foods, and deep inner work to be there for myself and others as we all heal and grow. And as
a healer and spiritual coach, I feel the call to be fierce in helping others show up to their highest calling more than ever.
Life needs to get real in ways that matter. In our communities, our families, the way we use the resources of Gaia (Mother
Earth), our priorities/values, and the ways we help others we share this world with.
Ask yourself these questions:
How can I take care of myself and my loved ones in these times? How can we show up to from a place of strength, courage,
and integrity? Plan some steps and personal practices now.
How can I take steps that secure the things I believe in for our world? Donating, volunteering, activism, and creation.
Research and take action.
How am I not listening to or choosing to ignore what doesn’t fit in my safe small patch? And am I supporting, in all ways, what
I do believe in?
Do these in big or small ways. Do what feels best for you now.
It’s hit many of us very hard. It’s okay to be angry,
disheartened and lost. I know you are a warrior
goddess and you will rise. You’ll rise to meet the
desires and dreams that are ready to come forth.
It’s exposed all the worst in us. And now, we
have the opportunity for the best to come
through. When we stand up and be vigilant
about what we want it to be.
It has challenged us. Challenges bring
opportunity. Stand up warrior goddesses!

MINDFULNESS IS A DANCE OF HAPPINESS
My Healing Prayer
By Dr. Melissa Samartano
As this year comes to an end, I reflect back on all the articles I have shared on holistic health and healing,
I would like to thank Sibyl Magazine for this AMAZING opportunity and leave you with a Healing Prayer.
Healing Prayer: Mind, Body, & Spirit
I open my heart center with love to explore the spirit which lives within my body. I realize my body is the temple of
my being. I am not just this body but an expression of the spirit in visible form.
During this yoga and mindfulness practice, my intention is to be totally present in my body, mind, and spirit.  When
I move in life I move with great respect, love, grace, and appreciation toward my body.
I open my heart inviting whatever arises in awareness. I pay close attention on purpose, deeply moving my body
slowly through a gentle sun salutation, without judgment to whatever thoughts enter into the present moment. By
intentionally practicing yoga and mindfulness, I pay more careful moment to moment attention on how my body
feels and what thoughts enter into my mind. I can live more fully recognizing this as an opportunity to release all
my fears of failure, disappointment, sorrow, sadness, grief,
loss, or any success I may have.
Because of my mind’s tendency to be scattered and easily
distracted, I use the breath as an anchor to the present
moment. I rest in my breath during this yoga and
mindfulness practice. I try to counteract strong forces of
distraction while training my body, heart, and mind to settle
down working on the unification of one moment at a time.
During this time I am fully present within myself in
each moment. I make a commitment to myself during this
practice to engage my attention and awareness in the
experience of the present moment.
The union of the body, mind, and spirit is a gift. It helps me
connect with my intuition providing me wisdom and insight
into better ways of taking care of myself.

REACHING FOR THE LIGHT
Let Us Play!
By Kirstin Nussgruber
When was the last time you played so hard you forgot about…well everything
around you? Time, location, commitments, responsibilities to-do lists. You were
simply lost in the unbounded exhilaration of play, a timeless and mindless zone only
the young seem to have privileged access to.
Most of us these days are caught up in the merciless grind of needing to achieve and accomplish in order to meet
deadlines of all sorts, be it business, family, socially or financially related. Those of us in this community understand
we need to find time to be “calm-in-mind” or perhaps “wordless-in-head”, there are many ways to describe this
peaceful and rejuvenating process that is so vital to recharging our batteries, keeping us going, surviving.
It is a cornerstone of my mentoring approach, helping my clients become aware of this state of being we have
been systematically taught to ignore, starting at school where kids these days are taught to fill their time with
busy work rather than acquire real skills to navigate problems that includes allowing quiet time to refocus and
re-energize.
By the time we are caught up in the midst of the responsibilities of adult life, we have forgotten what it feels like
to have nothing in our minds except a single sensation that gives us peace and pleasure. Many of us turn to
meditation, and it is an extremely effective tool to get to that sought-after place. But for some, meditation in
itself becomes a chore, as it is essentially a skill that needs to be learned and practiced in order to reap the
benefits. For some, having other options to attain this state of nothingness in the mind is sometimes a necessity.
I currently attend a puppy play group with our newest family member Max. Watching them engage in this
unburdened and rambunctious playfulness allows me to submerge myself with them in an experience that
leaves no room for strategic or worrying thoughts. Best still, I want to play like that again, where everything
else is shut out for a little while.
Last summer our family launched a puzzle mania period, quite spontaneously, over several weeks we managed
to complete six, all in joint effort, taking over all large surfaces we had access to. Works in progress, whenever
we could make time. Not only was it hugely bonding for all of us, but in that time in which you were searching
for that missing piece, and contributing to the whole, nothing else mattered. Although your mind was engaged,
it was singularly focused, and a very peaceful and grounding state to be in, even for just a brief moment.
Don’t you agree it’s time we give
ourselves permission to lose ourselves in
playful moments we once had unlimited
access to? What was once just fun has
indeed become an essential tool for
mental and physical survival.

MY QUANTUM HEALTH TRANSFORMATION
My Super Powers
By Karen Holton
Super powers: everyone has them but few are even aware of them. Super powers
come from within and are supplied by Source Energy, also known as Holy Spirit,
which is ever present regardless of our current state of consciousness. We do not
need the assistance of religious paradigms to access this unlimited power; all we
need do is to keep open to the concept by creating sacred space within. During this often confusing shift
from old paradigm to new, we experience both realities for a while, but we also have the assistance of
spiritual technologies to see us through.
Rather than learning to do something specific, new paradigm realities emerge all on their own as we remove
that which is not really a part of us. Bad programming, patriarchy, religiosity, self-doubt, and poor health can
hold us back by lowering our overall resonant frequency. Waiting within the authentic self lies everything we
need to know, do, be and express.
One of our super powers is in finding and utilizing our Inner Guru. Our Inner Guru resides as the Observer in
the presence of the Now. When we stop looking backward and forward, time becomes creative magic. The
road to mindful, conscious living is the quickest route to find our Inner Guru. Once we become a permanent
unit, our Inner Guru will reveal more super powers, as we see for ourselves what only new paradigm reality
can make possible.
The first thing I learned from my Inner Guru was how to self-diagnose and repair my own self-defeating
patterns of thought and behaviour, which were holding me back. I soon became aware of “just noticeable”
differences in my life; and as I became aware of these changes, I strengthened my resolve to continue with
this fascinating ascension process. The effects are always physical, mental/emotional, and spiritual – all at the
same time.
I discovered the powerful influence of a biologically appropriate diet, which includes blue-green algae and
wild plants. They supply advanced nutrition and medicines for our bodies, but they also alter our DNA,
assisting with our ascension process by raising our overall resonant frequency.
Then I discovered crystals and Zen Domes orgonite (which amplify the power and influence of crystals).
Think of crystals as beautiful, spiritual friends with diverse personalities, which communicate at hundreds of
thousands of KHz – they pulse faster than the speed of light! Further, angels are connected to specific crystal
frequencies, which is why they are used as spiritual communicators. Crystals exist on a continuum which
bridge the realms of heaven and earth.
Since finding my Inner Guru, I have
developed an amazing array of super
powers like: becoming a channel, a
shamanic healer, and have the ability to
create in the abstract and bring this into our
shared reality. Work with me and let me
introduce you to your Inner Guru. Once a
mind has expanded, it never goes back, and
the reward within new paradigm living is
super powers, which will never let you down.

ACCESS YOUR INNER ADVISORY BOARD
Right or Wrong
By Gina Medvedz
When it comes to God, there is no such thing as right and wrong regarding human
behavior. God is only good, and on this earthly plane we have all been given free will.
But, we are all souls. As we simultaneously run around lying, stealing and killing, we
move further and further from the part of us that is God, and ground ourselves in ego.
Our ego is like an invisible part of the body, created by the brain and based on our opinion of ourselves and the
opinions of others about us.
Our ego is not real and it is not who we truly are. Young children are ego-free, following their hearts and fluently
speaking imagination, the language of Spirit. The moment we begin to worry what others will think of our
behavior is the moment ego kicks in and we align ourselves not with God, but with our false sense of self.
Ego is not your friend. Like a seven-year-old child, your ego will judge you and everyone it encounters. It will call
you names like stupid and unworthy to keep you from stepping into the truth of who you are. Ego is the only
reason we judge others when we think they are wrong. If we release ego and stay in our soul, we are able to know
true love. From that place of love, our fear and judgment convert to compassion. As we stop judging others, we
are able to turn our focus inward and begin to heal our own disconnections from God.
I was one of the most judgmental people you could meet. I gossiped about others and worried constantly about
what everyone else was saying about me. I never followed through on anything, wouldn’t step out of my comfort
zone and I didn’t make friends easily. I trusted no one, but it was only because I couldn’t trust myself. I blamed
everyone for who I was. It wasn’t until I was in my akashic records and Spirit showed me the beautiful soul I am
that I came to understand the truth about ego and how I had allowed it to run my life for forty years. That’s a long
time to take direction from something which isn’t even real.
One of the first lessons that Spirit taught me was to take responsibility. The finger that I had been pointing at
others my whole life needed to be pulled back in my own direction. I was forced to examine where it was that I
myself was not aligned with love. Gossiping, laziness, lying, drinking, letting myself down, beating myself up and
judging others all had to go. Not because it is
the right thing to do, but because I desire to
be aligned with God. I want to do good, and
God is only good. But, that’s my story. Not
everyone will choose to align themselves with
good in this lifetime. Like God, I will love them
anyway.

MOVING FROM DARKNESS INTO LIGHT
Ending Prejudice in 2017
By Marsha Hankins
Sexism, racism, ageism, nationalism, religionism, politicism. Are your isms blocking you
from moving into your full light? They are for most folks.
I was raised in the south in the 1950s and 60s when sexism and racism were pushed to
the front burner of American consciousness. Bra burnings and civil rights marches left American forever
changed. However, I remember hearing a multitude of prejudicial isms tossed about my entire life. If people
were not being judged by their gender or the color of their skin, they were being judged for their nationality,
their religion, their political affiliations, their social and economic situations, their education, and more.
People would ask the origin of someone’s name or who their parents voted for or what church they attended so
that everyone could be put into the proper category. If someone was Jewish or Catholic or Irish or German or
democrat or republican, then we would know exactly who they were, what they believed, and into which box we
could put them. We could know who we should like and who we should not. Based on their labels, we would
know who we could trust and who we could not.
I remember being the only girl in one of my high school classes who would take missed assignments to one of
our sick classmates because she was a lesbian. After all, everyone knew she might infect us if we got too close. I
have not always been so brave in the face of prejudices and have given into my isms throughout my life more
often than I would like to admit.
On the other side of the coin, I have traveled to places in the
world where I was labeled the ugly American. I have been
talked about behind my back in a Mexican grocery store and
more. None knew anything about me except my color and
nationality.
We all have isms to heal. We have all been raised with
prejudice of one form or another, not to mention what we
have brought with us from past lives. Each ism (and each
resulting stereotype) creates judgment, anger, fear, and,
therefore, separation. We can never know Oneness if we
hold any form of separation.
I know from my own experience that our isms can be subtle.
I am often surprised when I notice a touch of prejudice
creeping into my thoughts. I always try to be very conscious
of my thoughts so that I know what remains to be healed.
People ask what they can do to heal the separation they feel
in this country and around the world. I recommend that we
each set our intentions to identify and heal every stereotype,
every ism we still hold so that we know only love. Let’s make
this our New Year’s resolution and be only love.

IN JOY THIS MOMENT
Together
By Ruth Mroch
Some of the wisest things I’ve learned, I’ve learned from dogs. Masters at both
celebrating and comforting. they are innately wise and kind. Puck, my sister’s dog,
modeled this in such a tender way, it has stayed with me.
My beloved beagle, Boji, passed two years ago, but while she lived she was always by my side. We had great
conversations, and I was often struck by her uncanny ability to understand. Rarely did I leave her behind, but on a
visit to my sister, I left Boji at Margaret’s house while I went to an appointment. She howled when I left. My sister
told me the rest of the story when I returned.
It seems Boji sat at the door howling for quite some time and Puck, Margaret’s bichon frise, got worried. He ran
back and forth from Boji to my sister, barking and distraught. “Do something!” he seemed to say. Margaret tried to
console Boji, to coax her away from the door, but she wouldn’t have it. She just sat there, howling. Marg finally left
her there, but Puck continued to pace back and forth between Boji and Marg. At last, he planted his fanny next to
Boji, and howled with her. When Boji moved to the window seat where she could watch the driveway, he sat there
with her too, staring out the window, waiting for me. When I finally came home, Puck celebrated with Boji, joined
her in her doggy happy dance, and delighted that their vigil had ended.
Puck couldn’t fix Boji’s problem, but he stayed with her while she dealt with it. That’s meaningful. No one should
feel alone in this world. Letting someone know she isn’t alone, ever, is the deepest kind of comfort.
This is a powerful lesson on the power of empathy and compassion. Humans could learn a lot from Puck when it
comes to how we treat each other, especially now as some of our neighbors are persecuted for their religion,
gender, the color of their skin, or even their political views. Standing with them, letting them know they are not
alone, is a powerful message.
I recently read an article about a school where all the student wore hijab in support of their Muslim friends. In
another school, students shaved their heads in support of a classmate undergoing cancer treatments. It moves me
to see gestures of solidarity that express we are all in this together. It may sometimes require courage to speak
when injustice is done, but the gestures don’t have to be grand. Simple kindness or a caring presence is often all
that’s required. Sometimes we may howl together and sometimes we may dance, but the key word is “together”.
Together, we can create a new world where
everyone is valued, respected, and able to
contribute. What a celebration that will be!

EXPLORING THE DYNAMICS OF MYSTICAL TRANSFORMATION
The Birth of the Divine
By Mischa V Alyea
Over the past year, I have tried to outline the framework of mysticism. One of my first
realizations was that mystical writings tell of the feelings and sensations that a spiritual
student encounters as they travel the path of transformation. As we explored further, it
became clear that mystical transformation requires that we weave the masculine and
feminine energies into a wholeness or Holiness within ourselves. Later, we found that the Divine Feminine energy
rises up from Mother Earth and the Divine Masculine energy falls down from Father Sky.

The ancients believed that women were naturally endowed with the Divine Feminine energy from birth. This
meant that her transformation would require that she enhance the masculine essence that is latent within her
spiritual system. We learned that the first mystical initiation of any female was The Wedding. In this ceremony, the
initiate is married to the male deity. From an energetic point of view, the purpose of this ceremony is to open the
gate at the top of the head and allow the Divine Masculine essence of Father Sky, known as Grace to most
Christians, to flow downward into her soul. As the energy flows downward to the area of the throat, the initiate
feels as if she is being kissed. This is just the beginning of the mystical journey.

The ceremonies of the goddess were usually tied to the planting and harvesting. The ancient cultures considered
the earth to be the womb of Mother Earth, from which she brought forth grain. Then one day, it dawned on me
that the mystical ceremonies were celebrating a process of spiritual transformation that is similar to the process of
pollination. The ancients believed that crops grew and trees bore fruit because of the blessing that fell from
Father Sky. Since this type of conception comes from above, the virginity of the woman is not compromised. Here
is the reasoning behind the Immaculate Conception and Virgin Birth. The child that is born of this union is always
male because the divine child is described as the pure essence of Father Sky. For those who practice the mystery,
once the inner being is filled with Grace, the excess energy pools in the abdominal area. Over time, this energy
will coalesce in to a moving ball of energy that feels like a baby kicking in the womb.

What most people do not know is that when we celebrate Christmas, we are actually celebrating the culmination
of a woman’s spiritual transformation. So, this Christmas may you be so filled with the Grace of the Father that you
conceive and give birth to the divine male child within yourself.

PALACE OF POSSIBILITIES
Closer to the Heart
By Donna Tobey
Another election year has come and gone. Thank God for that. The reactions and
dramas that have people reeling in emotional outbursts, lashing out to defend their
positions has been fascinating to observe. So much overreaction to a presidency that
is still completely unknown. So many protests being held before an official decision
has been made about anything. I can’t help but ask, what the hell is going on?
It’s a fair question. Have we gotten so far off the beaten path that we fail to understand WHO truly is in charge? It
is as if people have made government their god. And in doing so, are perpetrating a world of fear, a world full of
negativity. They are creating the world they say they do not want. Be observant. Do you not see the warfare? We
have all just come from a battleground. And now it is over.
Or is it? Each of us has a responsibility to one another, as human beings living in a society of challenge and
change. That means we have a choice on how WE want to live. WE, the people. The challenge IS change. And
that may mean pulling our energy out of the warfare and investing in ways that actually bring more life into the
world. How can we rebuild and restructure a world of oneness and peace? We are responsible for our thoughts,
words and ACTIONS.
Challenge yourself to see beyond this natural world of “reality “and understand that there is a bigger picture and
bigger plan. Now more than ever, we are faced with OURSELVES. Yes, you. You the individual and you the
collective have power baby! You are a Divine magnificent creator. How will you invest your creative life force
Energy? Will you go it alone and glom onto the collective spin that has gone so far astray? Will you give
agreements to what others are bringing into this world?
Or will you stand? Sometimes in life we are called to stand even if we are the only ones standing. Sometimes we
have to voice what our heart is communicating and say, “Hey, wait a minute. There is another way.” Pull your
energy out of what is going on right now and choose peace for ALL, love for ALL, kindness for ALL. All means all.
Partner with the one true God and ask your Higher Self how you can be part of the solution instead of part of the
problem. If you aren’t part of the solution, you are part of the problem.
Closer to the heart we will receive the wisdom
for our right next step towards a world of
wonder, oneness and peace. The possibilities
are endless! “And the men who old high
places, must be the ones to start to mold a
new reality, closer to the heart.” Amen.

HOPE –– HEAL –– THRIVE
Faith, Tsunamis, and Rainbows
By Sónia Trejo
In Every Moment we have the power to choose our reactions and attitudes about our
experiences. As the plane began the decent into Leon, Mexico, my heart was
pounding with excitement in anticipation of our Sibella Circle Women’s Retreat in San
Miguel de Allende.
I had the great pleasure to arrive a day early as Sibyl’s guest. And, I immediately felt the
“Magic” of San Miguel de Allende she had been writing to us about for months!
Spending the day with Sibyl was akin to reuniting with a long lost friend. We shared
stories, laughter and a few tears well into the evening. I couldn’t wait to share this
journey with my best friend and meet the other guests arriving the following day!
Day1: Gathering around the beautifully decorated table for lunch, we each discovered a
card at our place setting with an artistically written “Quality word.” Each of us would then
share what the meaning of our “Quality” held for us. As each person shared, it became
even more apparent, that I could clearly see and feel a reflection of “Me” within each of
them. My card read, “Trust.” For me, Trust and Faith are entwined as one and the same
struggle throughout most of my life. The next seven days would test my Faith and
change my life in ways I had never imagined.
I believe that Every Day presents a blank canvas that we paint with brush strokes of
thoughts from our experiences and/or experiences of our thoughts. I made a
commitment to myself to allow each day to unfold without expectations or attachments
for the duration of the retreat. That required Trust and Faith.
For the first time ever, I presented my speech without notes or tele-prompters. I spoke
from my heart, and though I was a bit nervous, I was ok!
Little did I expect a series of “First time” events throughout the remainder of this
extraordinary retreat!
Another “First” was a reading of my Akashic records. This experience unleashed a
Tsunami of tears I haven’t experienced since my husband passed away 12 years ago.
Even then, the Tsunamis were a private event. The difference being that until this
particular day, “I” had never allowed myself to Trust again, to be held, cradled and
comforted through the storm.
Most importantly, I have rediscovered Trust in F.A.I.T.H. (Finding Answers In The Heart).
I’ve learned to embrace my vulnerability and TSUNAMIS in the arms of those who care.
And, the RAINBOWS I love are not just those that light up the sky after the rain. They are
the ones who share this extraordinary journey of life with me.
I write this message With Heartfelt Gratitude to Sibyl for your love, encouragement and
creating a gateway for women to shine their beauty, their voice, heart and soul. To my
new sisters Donna, Marilee, Lynn, Melissa, Carol and last but not least, my dearest
“Gurufriend” and soul twin Terri, thank you all for being the Rainbows of light and love!

TRANSFORMING OURSELVES … TRANSFORMING OUR WORLD
Our Most Inspired Lives Await Us
By Lynn Ely
As I sat in front of the blank page of my computer screen, I noticed familiar thoughts
and feelings arising once again. Each and every month before writing my article for
SIBYL I would ask my higher guidance….What is highest for me to write about this
month? Empty space would usually arise followed by subtle anxiety. As I stayed with this,
softening and opening, material would eventually begin to arise. This was a beautiful process of learning to trust
and let go. Today is no different. Writing monthly articles this year has not been easy-breezy for me. Often, it felt
like I was wrestling a tiger as I worked and reworked my article, my faith and trust tested time and again. But each
month, I would eventually complete my article feeling uplifted and satisfied.
I began writing at age 11 when I was given my first journal. Over the years, journaling has allowed me to integrate
my thoughts and feelings while documenting the events of my life. ‘I wonder what I will be saying about my life at
the end of this journal?’  I would usually write on the first page.  After completing  a journal, I would read it cover
to cover. Much like a book or movie, I saw the storylines of my journaled life unfold….. Beginning, middle and
endings. Journaling throughout my lifetime taught me time and again about the impermanent nature of our
world, the constancy of change within it and how my suffering usually involved resistance to change. It also
helped me resolve and let go of my past which helped me to come more fully into the present..

Arriving back in the States the week before the election after giving my talk at Sibyl’s Wellness and Spirituality
Expo in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, I was met by a burst of intensity both on the home and national front. My
talk regarding change proved timely and also helpful to me personally as I met my unfolding circumstances.
Many said the outcome of our election was a direct result of peoples deep desire for change. While the changes
needed in our external world are obvious to most, what is oftentimes less acknowledged, yet equally if not more
important, is our need for internal change.
The outcome of this election has initiated an important, albeit, painful process. Although I had hoped we would
choose a gentler way, sometimes pain can be the most powerful motivator. Our shadow, our collective
unhealed trauma, repressed for eons, is now coming to the surface for revealing and healing. This is good. It
has been curtailing our evolutionary growth. If we are to survive, thrive and live our most inspired lives here on
the planet, we need to take the next
evolutionary step in consciousness so that
our decisions issue forth from love, not fear.
And that is an inside job.
We are co-creators in this unfolding storyline.
… Our most inspired life awaits us.  Let the
healing begin.

  • 7. Sibella Circle Member & Visionary Leader THE HOUSE OF TRUTH Resist Nothing By Ellen Chun What is stress other than resistance to the events in one’s life? The event itself is almost never the problem. It is the mind’s reaction to it that determines whether there is a problem or not. To put it another way: Resistance is what causes psychological pain. No resistance = no psychological pain; no matter what the circumstance happens to be. For every event that stresses someone out, that same event may cause no negativity for another. For example, one person may feel intense anxiety on missing a flight while another person may view it as “time to read” or “time for a nap”. Even if those two people were going to the same meeting and knew that there would be stiff consequences for being late. The one who feels stress has allowed his mind to wander into “what if” scenarios while the stress free person knows that the situation was out of his control and chose to remain calm. We could take this line of reasoning to the extreme as in someone being locked up and in solitary confinement. Most would feel absolute misery in this situation. But there are others, Ghandi, for instance, who used this scenario as a tool for spiritual growth. Same situation, vastly different reactions… The reason that Ghandi did not feel stress was because he did not resist his situation. He did not assign mental problems to what was happening. He simply flowed with it. Ghandi knew that peace is ALWAYS an option, regardless of outside circumstances. Sometimes we believe that we must feel stress in order to do what needs to be done but alas, this is not so. Just think of any time when you performed some feat without stress. You usually perform the feat even better than usual, not worse. One example of this is when one of my daughters was an infant and pushed through the gate blocking off the top of the stairs. It was a very high, steep staircase and there was a large vase at the bottom of the steps that would have cracked on impact. My daughter, went tumbling down the stairs, heading directly towards the vase and the hard tile below. A force came over me that caused me to simply act without any resistance to what was happening in that moment. I jumped down the staircase and grabbed her just before her head hit the floor. What could have resulted in a very serious injury left my daughter without a scratch. After the fact I shuddered at the thought of what might have been the outcome had I stressed out and froze or panicked while trying to save my daughter. When we resist some thing or some thought, we are stopping the flow of it from affecting us because of the discomfort that it creates in us. How you deal with this energy flow has a direct impact on how much peace or how much stress you will experience. The phrase “Let go and let God” is a reminder that peace is lurking underneath the façade of control.   www.egracecoaching.com ellenchun@egracecoaching.com Massachusetts –– USA
  • 8. Sibella Circle Member & Visionary Leader HEALTHY PERSPECTIVES FOR VIBRANT LIVING Honoring Rites of Passage By Charlotte Carreira It is the end of the year and I am moving. The place I have cherished as home for the past 18 years is returning to its rightful owners as they retire. I am looking, choosing, packing, letting go. As I take down window coverings and pictures and begin to sell furniture and mementos of the past, I see how the amazing place I once called home becomes a standard box of walls, floors and windows. It really is true. Home is what we make it and where our heart is. As I started listing items to sell and eager buyers showed up, I experienced the sacred participation of completing my past and helping others to create their future. As I sold the antique dining table and chairs my history presented itself: it was used in my first business office, then it changed its usefulness to the first home after getting married, and then became the centerpiece where my life as a single parent with 2 children shared many discussions and meals as we grew together, and then finally back to a home office where clients shared their concerns, dreams and desires in consultation and healing. Whoosh! After 35 years of being an active part of my family, the simple table and chairs becomes an instrument of love for an excited young couple with a toddler to start their own rituals for family meals. Their first dining set represented a sort of rites of passage from my past memories to create their new memories. It is only a piece of furniture, an inanimate object, but it is most certainly an energetic part of the life we create…it is just as important as we are live beings growing and moving in this universe. The place I called home for the past 18 years has its own purpose in serving those who come to abide. As I let go, not knowing what the specific future holds, I become less fearful and certainly more excited and hopeful. The form in which my life expresses itself will unfold, and the essence of what we create lies within our hearts. For me, peace filled with love, joy, trust, comfort, friendship, family, partnership, humor, and adventure will be the container for my future. As it shows up I will know it. It will ring yes in my being. I look forward to the incredible opportunities that await me to create my new rites of passage. Writing for Sibyl during this past year has been a journey of listening and expressing the Divine that has served all of us who read this magazine of spiritual empowerment. I look forward to hearing how life unfolds for all our sisters on this planet and the powerful impact we will make for generations to come. Happy sacred holidays to everyone. www.Radiant-Wellness.com Charlotte@Radiant-Wellness.com California –– USA
  • 9. Sibella Circle Member & Visionary Leader LIVE –– LOVE –– LIBERATE Christmas … and Making Merry By Tori Kayson While our children were growing up, we lived in Florida, where winters and cooler temperatures were non-existent. So, every winter break we loaded the car with snow sleds, Christmas presents, and our portable fake tree and traveled to some faraway state, a place guaranteed to find snow. After arriving at our rental condominium, we’d tuck all the presents under that miniature tree. Then, we’d snuggle in front of the fireplace and cheer for our favorite football teams or watch a movie, sipping hot chocolate loaded with whipped cream and sprinkles. In the morning, we’d rush to the window to catch that first glimpse of a newly fallen snow. We rarely saw snow in Florida, so to us, it was beautiful. So clean, perfect and unspoiled, and always shimmered like diamonds. On one particular trip to Minnesota, we discovered the destructive nature of those beautiful white flakes. During our two-day drive through single digit temperatures, it snowed and soaked through some of the items secured on top of the car. Then, they froze. Care to guess what we packed on top of the car? Exactly! The gifts. How do you tell your children that they’ll have to accept an IOU for Christmas? We learned a few lessons that year. One, always pack the presents inside the car, everything else on top. Second, that snow isn’t always pristine. It can be dirty and destructive and wreak havoc, not just on the roads, but hits you in the wallet. Lastly, that Christmas is not all about brightly wrapped packages nestled under a tree. All those frantic trips to the mall before we left, including the last minute binges to search for the perfect gift for that family member who has everything, made no difference in the bigger picture. No. Because Christmas is not all about making merry. Christmas is about a baby boy born in a musty stable and wrapped in swaddling clothes. It’s about heaven’s best, God-man, coming down to mingle among sin, smelly animals and poop. Christmas is about hope and grace, about Jesus. It’s about a perfect love that rights all wrongs, about a love that knows no bounds, a love that gives and never gives up. Christmas is true love, amazing, limitless, powerful. Christmas is the season for miracles and a chance for a fresh start. Through His precious Son, God takes a giant eraser and wipes away our grunge. Unlike our gifts, His gift never spoils. Wishing you a love-kissed Christmas, friends, and a blessed 2017! Thank you for faithfully reading my articles this year! God bless! www.ToriKayson.com ToriKayson@gmail.com North Carolina –– USA

  • 11. Sibella Circle Member & Visionary Leader PEACE, POWER, AND MIRACLES If You’re Seeking Balance, You’re Settling By Dawn Petalino In 2006, I hit burnout in a big way. My marriage crashed, my career crashed, and I crashed. So, for nine months I stepped out of life. With no agenda and no responsibilities beyond myself, I caught my breath. I felt my heartbeat for the first time in a long time. However, as Spirit would have it, resting came to an end and it was time to work again. I opened my own tutoring business in 2007 and coaching/healing business in 2011. Many times along the way, I drove myself too hard. Like impatient children tugging at my sleeves, something always seemed to need my attention. As a result, I’d fill up my “down time” with errands, household chores, or paperwork and emails. Too tired to think, I’d settle down with a glass of wine and bag of pretzels at eleven o’clock at night, numbing myself out just to refuel. I spent the better part of my life vacillating between doing too much and doing nothing. Bravely, I started making changes, taking chances, and setting aside time to rest. This was an improvement. I now took naps during the day, stopped in my day for coffee, or made play dates with friends. Nonetheless, I still looked forward to Friday nights, felt more alive on Saturdays, and mentally prepped myself for Monday’s arrival. Work, chores, and free- time were still separate categories in my life. Why is it, I wondered, do Saturdays feel different? Why am I more eager? Does it really depend upon the day’s agenda whether I feel alive or not? This didn’t make sense to me. Why would our soul feel more free in play and not work? Though I didn’t agree with the widely accepted division between the two, for a long time I believed that’s just how things were. Then came a time when the work I loved no longer motivated me. Depression weighed down each pursuit like hardened cement. In a desperate act to feel better, I stopped doing whatever felt heavy. I let go of the goals I strove to make happen, the future I envisioned, and the determination to push through. In a word, I quit. I finally let go of my plans and surrendered to whatever was trying to get my attention. Paradoxically, when I let go of my attachment to making anything happen in the world, I began enjoying my life. ALL OF IT! Without a separation between work, chores, family, and play, there was only me doing what I was doing at any given moment. Without a future to get to, I could enjoy where I was. Without an agenda, I simply showed up, open without expectation. Life became a series of moments, an interchange between me and the Universe, only this time, I wasn’t in charge. And suddenly, every day became Saturday. www.newraise-of-light.com newraiseoflight.dawn@gmail.com North Carolina –– USA
  • 12. Sibella Circle Member & Visionary Leader THE ART OF EMPOWERMENT The Divine Always Supports You By Deborah Austin   Life is about actualizing our God given potential and going beyond our often self- imposed limits. Remember that The Divine created you for greatness! If you stay stuck within the status quo you are not growing personally, professionally or spiritually. Why is it then, do some of us feel that we have to remain limited, when that is simply not the case? As human beings, each of us is designed to shine in our way.  Daring and taking risks is something that most people grapple with throughout their lifetime for a variety of reasons. Most people have not achieved their heart’s desire because they stay stuck within the status quo and don’t try new things. Through maintaining the status quo in life, you will become stagnant if you are not using your gifts and talents to their fullest capacity. We all know that anything in life that is worth having involves hard work, determination, and relentless pursuit of goals.  How then can you accelerate your journey to realizing your dreams. There are numerous ways that this can be done.  The first is to be conscious of  your mortality. The truth of the matter is that we all know that we are living on borrowed time. Instead of living in fear of the inevitable, let’s use this knowledge to free ourselves in order to live the best possible life. If one day we are going to leave the mortal coil, we shouldn’t be intimidated or scared to try to new things. Be purposeful, dare and take calculated risks. Make each day count! The second thing we can do to accelerate the trajectory towards our dreams is to eliminate or let go of the need for external approval for how we live our lives.  As long as we are not breaking any laws or  hurting anyone how we live our lives is our choice.  Let go of your need to be approved of and liked all the time.  Pursue your dreams and heart’s desire with passion and determination. The third way that we can accelerate our journey is through committed, strategic action!   Each of you has something special to contribute to the planet based on  your unique gifts. The fact that you are on the planet means that you already beat the odds to be here. You are here because of God’s Divine plan for your life. You have what it takes to be a success in life. For some of you that means being an excellent parent, spouse, child or family member. It could mean being a great friend, active in your faith or volunteer community, creating art, or being successful in your career among many possibilities. Always remember to pursue your dreams and never give up. • 13. Sibella Circle Member & Visionary Leader LET’S GET REAL AND HEAL Mirror, Mirror … On the Wall By Wanda L. Brown Although people often remarked that I was beautiful, (my outward appearance), for years, I resented looking into the mirror. I did not see what others saw. Rather, I peeked at pain, guilt, and shame. The larger the mirror, the more magnified my flaws and sorrows were for just being me. One day, I awakened, identified my story, and decided that a much-needed change was going to happen. I had resented looking in the mirror so much that I never learned how to correctly apply make-up, but I asked no questions and began to remove my mask. As I began to pull layers of wounds off of myself, I began to get in touch with the essence of who I am as I washed my face daily. As I began to sort my dirty laundry, looking inside provided me with a wealth of opportunities to get in touch with my core, as I removed liabilities that did not belong to me. I placed these upon the shoulder of them who they belonged without resentment. I took ownership of my mistakes, and I laid down the quilt, as I allowed guilt to be what it should be; a red flag that alerted me that I needed to change my direction. Eventually, I found the perfect opportunity for transformation, which no silver or gold could compete…Absolutely, change is priceless. I began to identify and alter behaviors that were not befitting to a queen. Previously in my life, I isolated, and the cloud over my head would not move. Now, I embrace opportunities to be in the company of those who love themselves and accept me. I keep my space sacred because I understand that my sanctuary is not a church, but rather it is inside of me. Now when I look in the mirror, I no longer see a victim, but rather a beautiful and strong woman who has overcome many challenges. My beauty is from the inside out. The physical features that I possess are a mysterious dynamic of genes, but that which is on the inside is what I was created to be. In order to find that, I needed to unclutter my gut, and become free to be and love myself. From the day that I was born, I was fearlessly and wonderfully made, but the mirror did not present that to me. Or was it that I was blind and could not see? I still do not wear make-up, nor did I take a class as a cosmetologist, because I understand that make-up does not change who I am at my core. That my friends, cannot be painted. Today, I look to God with eyes of love, and I thank Him for the beautiful person that He created me to be, because I do not despise who I see in the mirror inside or outside of me. www.letsgetrealandheal.com Wanda@letsgetrealandheal.com Pennsylvania –– USA The attraction of our Light connected with the essence of your Light! • 14. Sibella Circle Member & Visionary Leader DANCING ACROSS THE RAINBOW BRIDGE Let There Be Light By Pauline Hadley And so the year comes full circle ….. December is a time when New Light comes onto the Earth on the Winter Solstice of 21st December, but first we must step through the final double digit Gateway of the 12.12…… open your heart and let a higher vibration enter your life on this significant day. The Winter Solstice is a doubly special day for me as it is the birthday of my beautiful twin granddaughters. Being a ‘twin birth’ an earlier delivery is chosen by the doctor rather than waiting full term and I spent many hours wondering how this worked when a ‘birth day’ was chosen by the doctor rather than waiting for baby deciding to come into the world at their given moment in time. There was the option to have them before or after Christmas. When it was decided to bring them before Christmas I checked my numerology and suggested to my son that the 21st would be a good day! Only to be told it would take place when the doctor chose! Okay – so I put it up to the Universe and waited! After the final scan a date was given, and guess what – it was the 21st December!! I let out a rather loud YEEESSS on hearing the news! I do love it when a plan comes together in divine timing! The night before the birth I sat and tuned into these two beautiful souls who were coming to join our family and I had the most wondrous vision. I saw Mother Mary holding one in each arm descending through the angelic realms into the Earth plane. She was surrounded by a host of golden angels, it was the most incredible sight I have ever seen and tears just rolled down my face at such beauty. The magic doesn’t stop there as the following day the birth was scheduled for 9am but there was an emergency and they were moved to the next slot and born at 11am – 11 being master number! And so it was that this new light came onto the Earth through my twin granddaughters and they have been such a joy and a magical gift for us all. Christmas lights shine through the whole of this month as people decorate their homes with a myriad of colourful lights. I love seeing all these beautiful rainbow colours dancing. Let us remember to take this light into our hearts then send it out across the world to all those who are not so fortunate to be surrounded in this magical Christ-mas light. Let’s send a prayer that we bring light and joy and lasting PEACE to every corner of this sweet Earth and all who live upon her. It has been a joy to Dance Across the Rainbow Bridge with you throughout 2016. I send you all radiant blessings for a magical Christmas and a most Joyful New Year. www.rainbowlight.org.uk paulinehadley33@hotmail.com England –– UNITED KINGDOM Did you know that by becoming a Sibyl Magazine SUBSCRIBER you immediately gain access to join us on exciting events and spirituality retreats?!?!

  • 16. Sibella Circle Member & Visionary Leader IF NOT NOW WHEN Be Peace: Gratitude + Forgiveness + Passion By Carol Lukitsch Marcus Aurelius said “Our life is what our thoughts make it”. These are wise words to guide us through this tumultuous post-election period. We must BE peace in order to move forward in a meaningful way. If we give in to ongoing expressions of fear, anger and hatred, that is all we will be capable of manifesting in reality. On the other hand if we hold an intention to be compassionate, open-minded and open-hearted, we can transcend the toxic atmosphere which surrounds us. Only love can resolve the climate of fear we are in right now. And each of us must choose between love and fear because it is one or the other; the two cannot coexist. I have just returned from the Sibella Writers’ Retreat in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. How good it was to be in an environment that is grounded in faith, art, tradition and family. At the same time, San Miguel is a town with a creative and sophisticated expat community that knows how to party, laugh and have fun and is inclusive of different lifestyles. The expats I met were inspiring in their genuine caring and dedicated giving, both one on one to individuals as well as supporting the community through non-profit charitable organizations. People there are not whining about politics and the government, but seem to try to be the change they want to see. Volunteerism is widespread and help for those caught in the cycle of poverty is a priority. I also observed an open and moving intimacy among friends. In giving of ourselves we feel useful, empowered and free. Depending on government to solve all our needs and problems is unrealistic and counterproductive. Compassion, empathy and good character still cannot successfully be legislated. But generosity of spirit can work miracles. Maybe the simple biblical dictum to “Love your neighbor as yourself” is pretty much the secret to living well. Miscommunication is at the root of so many problems. We must listen to one another, express ourselves clearly and keep our word. We can do these things whether our leaders do or not. Here in our own country, many of us actively volunteer our time and resources to help those less fortunate and hopefully we can focus on expanding that involvement. Unfortunately, too many of us have gotten caught up in a tribal us-versus-them mentality, where a person’s political affiliation substitutes for a true identity. In this polarized environment, any dissenting opinion subjects a person to name-calling and ridicule. This is a way insecure persons make themselves feel superior to others. It really is time to unite and work together. Let’s hope that as 2016 comes to a close we can put an end to the intolerance that has taken hold of our citizens. Sometimes things have to get worse before they can get better. In 2016 things got worse for our nation. Here’s hoping that in 2017 each of us will personally do something radically positive to make things better. www.carollukitsch.com carollukitsch@aol.com Virginia –– USA https:// www.paypal.com/cgi- bin/webscr?cmd=_s- xclick&hosted_button_i d=DWFJ5DA5PKBDQ One of the greatest gifts you can give yourself is to take responsibility for the choices you’ve made in your life; sit with them, allowing your mind to make sense of all the colorful hues within your soul, then move on. ~ Sibyl English
  • 17. Sibella Circle Member & Visionary Leader TRUE BEAUTY SHINES WITHIN YOU What Do You Choose in Life? By Sandy Townsend I remember the day I received the email about my article being accepted by Sibyl Magazine. I was really excited. Then I found out I would be required to write monthly articles for the entire year. Fear crept in! I replied back to Sibyl saying, “can I say no, I do not even know what I would write about”. She replied back by simply stating it’s my choice. You do have something to share. How often do we all do this in our lives? We are so stopped by fear, by the feeling of not being good enough or by thinking we do not have anything to contribute, as I did. The mental process of doubt and lack of self-esteem overtake us. We stop ourselves from doing or becoming what we really want to do or become. Yet we know that if we took that leap of faith it would bring us growth and open us up to those passionate expansive moments in our lives. We all know this on some level, but we still want to keep ourselves clinging to the safety of the old way. We feel it is the best place for us to be. Why do we do this? Every decision we make creates our circumstances in life. When we push ourselves to move forward in our lives all our emotional stuff comes up. We blame others for the reason that we are not doing what we want to do. We make excuses. We want change but get frustrated and we try to blame things outside of ourselves instead of ultimately taking responsibility for ourselves. Everything we have in our lives exists because of our actions, behaviors, habits, words, and thoughts. There is always a fork in the road and we have a choice. We can do things the same or we can take a different path and open up to an amazing possibility. The simple action of taking a chance will open you up to those possibilities. I am thankful that I made the choice to step up to the challenge of writing for this magazine to see what I could create. I feel that I have grown from the opportunity to write monthly articles. Having to search deep within and see what wanted to be expressed each month has given me a sense of self-worth. Although at times it was a challenge, I feel achievements are not created easily but often take work. The greatest athletes spend countless hours perfecting their game. To achieve anything in life you must also have the dedication and drive to accomplish. As this yearlong journey of writing articles comes to an end, I know this experience will help me in the future with my next experience. Just as a house is built one brick at a time our lives and learning is done in a similar order. Learn to enjoy and do your best in all that you do in life. www.diamondascension.net sandy@diamondascension.net New Jersey –– USA And when at last you come to the end of yourself and begin to think about what you might have done if … Fear and regret are both very paralyzing enemies. • 18. Sibella Circle Member & Visionary Leader UNLOCK YOUR SOUL TREASURE AND SHINE If Ever There Was a Time ... By Bobbe Bramson True confession: I voted for Hillary Clinton. Not because I loved her (I didn’t), but because I felt the other choice was too horrifying to even contemplate. I also voted for her because she was a she, and at minimum I thought we might finally crash through the big glass ceiling America seems so reluctant to shatter. I fell asleep the night of November 8th in one reality and woke up on November 9th to a world changed, literally overnight! I felt like a deer in headlights…stunned and frozen with shock. I felt physically ill, unable to process the magnitude of the shift that had just occurred. Grieving, angry, and confused, I wondered how on earth I was going to make it through the next week, much less the next four years. All this emotional turmoil stirred up an inevitable flood of questions: How could we as Americans have voted for a man who by all appearances, words, and deeds is a demagogue, a bigot, an inciter and fomenter of hatred and violence, and a misogynist to boot? How had the divide in America become so deep and wide that over half of its citizens and none of the ‘experts’ were aware of it? Would it be possible to fix a system so obviously broken? Could this disruptive, turned-inside-out world actually be the wakeup call…the wound to let the Light in? Meditating on these questions I do my best to undo the hard knots of fear, disbelief, and heartache at my core. I sense that it’s imperative I do so: whatever I find objectionable ‘out there’ in the collective is probably a projection of my own disavowed dark stuff. Think about it. If our outcast projections have brought us to this juncture in history then hadn’t we better do our inner work before it’s too late? So how do we stay openhearted and centered during revolutionary times like these, accepting what is, yet not slipping into denial and complacency? I don’t know how you will answer this. But for me, I must walk that fine line with as much courage and love, integrity and decency, hope and faith as I can muster. I will aspire to maintain my vessel of Light by clearing my own darkness and fear as they arise, by allowing others their points of view, and by exercising my spiritual activism. If ever there was a time to hold the highest and best vision for our world; to plant seeds of love, inclusion, and peace so they might take root and blossom… this is that time. If ever there was a time to believe that our voices lifted up in service to what’s just and good can make a miraculous difference; to be FOR and not rail against…this is that time. And if ever there was a time to look for and find the visage of The One in every person you meet...this is that time. www.AngelHeartToHeart.com bramsongs@verizon.net New York –– USA
  • 19. Sibella Circle Member & Visionary Leader SOUL MESSAGES FROM WITHIN Dance Me to the End of Love By Alison Strandberg I have just read that Leonard Cohen has passed away. I followed the words of this passionate and wise poet and artist from teenage years and beyond. He spoke of love, which to me in my early teenage years, was not always something I fully understood, but the words he chose moved me and lit up my soul. I wanted that sense of passion in my life, no matter whether I understood it or not. His words followed me through each part of my life and illuminated each emotional upset or trauma with the understanding that someone else had been there and knew where I was and what I was feeling. Having always been a romantic and more aware of the sad side of life, I empathized with the words and felt there was a door or a portal he looked through to come to the depths from where his soul was speaking. It ignited the fire in me to connect with that source – the source of course is love. That source is always present within us whether we know it or not. In those times of deep, deep soul-searching and feeling lost, this presence, which I will call Love, held me and cajoled me to keep going no matter what. It cannot be seen, but oh how it can be felt. The lost soul in the desert of the soul need no longer feel lost, for every grain of sand is calling out that one is loved. As I dance on on this path, which we call life, I become more and more aware of this loving presence, which is in fact a part of me. I can choose to experience the depths of loss and turmoil, for I know that I will always be safe even when I feel most afraid. As a soul, who is learning from each experience, I do not need to fear any more. In this dance I am always accompanied and by a dance partner who dearly loves me and wants me to learn from each painful experience, in order that we can dance a more joyful and passionate dance. I know now that the dances will be many along the way; some will be filled with magic and intricate foot work and others will render me almost immovable, but each dance will be part of my learning and my life experience and I welcome each dance as it teaches me. My dance partner knows the steps and helps me to put my feet forward even when I don't dare or have lost the will to do so. I need never fear this Dance. My dance partner will never leave me. The words of encouragement came softly.” Never let the dance make you fearful, for your dance partner is Love. Love will never let you go.” www.alisonstrandberg.co.uk alistran@gmail.com Scotland –– UNITED KINGDOM Regular cost for a one (1) year subscription is $102. • 21. Sibella Circle Member & Visionary Leader GODDESS TEMPLES OF GOLDEN LIGHT Inner Peace and Love Yourself By Linda Jarrett Finding Inner Peace sounds easy but it can be difficult as the days seem shorter because time has speeded up and life seems more complicated than it used to be, and this can cause much stress. So simplify your life, make things easy, and take one day at a time, as simplifying your life will create inner peace and harmony. Have acceptance of others, their behaviour, their views, their looks, as this will give you inner peace and calm instead of anger and resentment. When you accept other people for who they are then you will feel a stillness inside of you. This does not mean give up or put up with, but know that you will be able to change any situation by your calm approach. Getting stressed does us no good at all, so why do it in the first place all it does is make us think emotionally and irrationally. You cannot change those around you but you certainly can change yourself so start by loving yourself. Let go of the past, old patterning, old ways of thinking, old programming, and start to be your authentic self, the real you. Forgive others as forgiving others is very important as you cannot move forward if you are always living in the past, equally do not live in the future either. When you forgive others its make it so much easier to forgive yourself for what you did or did not do last year or many years ago. Try to live from day to day in a calm grounded way. Do not give way to distractions, keep to what you had originally planned for that day that way you will feel as if you have made progress and achieved something. So live in the present moment, live Now. Enjoy life make it pleasurable, do what you enjoy doing, whether that’s yoga, going to the gym, singing in a choir, drawing, painting, meditating, going for a walk in nature, visiting a family member or neighbour or anything else that you enjoy, do it as this will give immense pleasure. Take time for you time to love yourself. Do not do anything in a hurry, be still, be quiet, be calm. Be happy do not do things that make you sad, or if you need to do something sad see the good in the sadness and lift up your spirits by thinking positive thoughts. Inner Peace or inner calmness refers to a state of being mentally and spiritually. Inner Peace brings serenity, calmness, balance, harmony and stillness of mind. You will be stress free if you live life simply, accept, forgive, enjoy life and to keep you in this frame of mind meditate or go for a walk in nature. So - bring towards you Inner Peace and Love Yourself always. www.templeofgoldenlight.co.uk templeofgoldenlight@gmail.com England –– UNITED KINGDOM
  • 22. Sibella Circle Member & Visionary Leader BE FULLY ALIVE That Word Love By Mikaya Heart   When I was very young, the man who molested me said, "I love you." At first, I loved him, because he was attentive and kind to me. Then I realized that when he said "I love you", he meant, "My sexual desire is out of control, and I must use your body in this fashion whatever the cost. If you love me, which you should, you will let me do these things to you without resistance or complaint, and you will forgive me, and you will never tell anyone." In my teens, when boys said, "I love you,” they clearly meant, "You're mine, I own you, and when we appear in public together you will behave in an appropriate manner. I'll have sex with you whenever I want, and you must at least make an appearance of enjoying what I do to you." Or sometimes, they just meant, "I'm really horny right now, give me access to your body so that I can come." When I asked my mother what sex was, she told me that when a man loved a woman, his penis got bigger. I decided that if love was what that made that happen, then I didn’t want anything to do with it. When my father said, "I love you," he meant, "I'm sorry you seem to be hurt by the things I do and say, but someone must bear the brunt of my frustrated rage, so you'd better just endure it." When my mother said, "I love you," she meant, "I'm sorry that I’m not able to protect you like good mothers should, and that I haven't adequately been able to hide the fact that I never wanted to have you. I really need your forgiveness." When my female lovers said, "I love you," they meant, "I admire who you are and I want to have access to you whenever I desire so that your qualities will be seen as mine too. I want to control everything you do, so that you will never leave me." What did I mean when I said, "I love you"? I certainly meant, “Please don't hurt me.” I meant, “Life is too hard, please make it easier for me, and overlook all the times I nag and bitch at you.” I meant, “Please see more of me than the tough exterior I present, and love that other side of me, or, at least, please don't make fun of it.” Now that I’m older and wiser, I want those three words to mean, "I see the wholeness of all that you are in this moment, and I accept you without judgment, honoring your unique infinite beauty. In this moment my heart is joined with yours and I know that we are not separate beings. I support you absolutely in being fully who you are, even if that means that you will go away and I will never see you again." www.mikayaheart.org mikayaheart@gmail.com Hawaii –– USA
  • 23. Sibella Circle Member & Visionary Leader FINDING BALANCE & HARMONY The Heart of Balance and Harmony By Donna Adams The past 11 months have been rich with opportunities of lessons and growth. The year began with the decision to take my career path on a new direction with the excitement of enhancing and growing my energy medicine practice and the prospect of a business partnership. However, the partnership was not meant to be. The lesson I learned from that experience is that I am capable of running my own business and look forward to doing so in the coming year. Writing for Sibyl Magazine has been a rewarding experience in that I found myself comfortable in being able to express and share my personal and professional experiences and knowledge with each and everyone one of you. Such a joy it has been, even though at times it was challenging to discern what new article to write each month. I left the comfort of my oncology nursing career and took on a new venture in the gastrointestinal world. I truly enjoy working with this patient population and have enjoyed getting to know my colleagues at this practice over the past 9 months. This is a part time position for me, which affords me the ability to pursue the growth of my energy medicine practice while keeping my nursing skills up. I have provided editing services to several holistic mentors in my life and have assisted with the publishing of books and training programs to include Healing Touch Program, meditation training, and other various energy medicine practices. I also edited my late husband’s novel, Waypoint to Revenge, which is published in his memory and now available on Amazon as an e-book. I experienced a fall in late August, injuring my face and right hand. This was during a time when I felt like everything was going my way, I had a lot of decisions to make and ideas I wanted to move on. It was clear to me that the Universe was telling me to slow down and take some time to reflect and focus on my own healing. I realized that I was constantly focused on others’ needs and not taking time for myself. I was introduced to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico in October and met some fabulous writers from Sibyl Magazine who are from Boston, California, Indiana and Virginia. I am so grateful to have experienced the beauty and charm of San Miguel with these women and value the friendships that blossomed during our time together. If you’ve never been to San Miguel or to Mexico, I highly recommend you visit San Miguel for you will enjoy the locals, the culture, architecture and charm of this magnificent city that sits atop quartz crystals. As the year comes to a close, my heart as well as my body, mind and spirit feel completely in balance and harmony. I wish you all the best for the New Year! www.softlandinghealing.com softlandinghealing@gmail.com Maryland –– USA
  • 24. Sibella Circle Member & Visionary Leader CONNECTING HEART AND SOUL Holiday Visitors By Sarina Baptista     The stress of the holidays can be overwhelming at best. When you have lost someone you love, it can be hard to find the magic of the season. All you think about are the times with your loved one and what joy they brought to your life, and how that is gone now. This is our tenth year without our oldest child, J.T. In March 2007 at the age of seven, he made his way back home, joining my father who passed in 1995 and my husband’s mother who passed in 1983. I am one of the blessed ones as I have communication with my son, which has made a huge difference in how I look at this time of year.   My schedule fills quickly in November and December with grieving clients who miss their loved ones and just want to know they are alright. I can tell you from my experience, they are more than “alright”—they are wonderful! One of the most important messages I hear time and time again is, “We are with you. We celebrate, too. Look for us during your celebrations. Where else would we be?” This is true for all of our loved ones who have passed. Helping us with our grief is the most important job for them. Yes, they are doing other things as well, but they are never too busy to “stop by” and help us remember how much they love us.   So, what does this look like? It could be the smell of your mom’s cookies. Maybe a bird who sings to you. A breeze that comes out of nowhere. That song on the radio that was your dad’s favorite. These are all ways our loved ones try to reach us.   I remember one Christmas, before I knew I was a medium, we were celebrating Christmas Eve where we always did, my husband’s Godparents. We were opening presents, having a wonderful time, when the clock fell off the wall. There was no reason for this to happen—nail was intact, no sign of a problem. At the moment it happened, I said to my husband, “It’s your mom. She’s letting us know she is celebrating with us.” How did I know this? It came out of my mouth with conviction and authority. I knew it was true, but had no idea why. Later, I would find this was just part of the gifts I now share with others.   The point is they are here. They love us, they celebrate with us, and they want us to know they are okay. So the next time something like this happens to you, and you think of your loved one, believe it is them, and say, “I love you, too.” Know they are with you, celebrating in ways we can only imagine. • 26. Sibella Circle Member & Visionary Leader BENEFITS OF SPIRITUAL SUBTLETIES Sabbatical By Kim Pentecost Looking back over this year, it has been one dedicated to writing my heart’s truth and also, a sabbatical, of sorts. Like most self-employed people, I’m a type A personality – many things going on, several projects in development and always working. Typically, this invigorates me and I am fulfilled. A year ago, that came to a screeching halt. My interest in anything all but disappeared. My brain went silent and I had no creativity. Not surprisingly, I was more than a little freaked out. Worse, I was too tired to care. It was a bizarre time. At first I thought I might be dying. As that notion passed, I developed concern that my mind had suddenly become old. After a seemingly inordinate amount of time, I finally understood that I was experiencing a Shamanic death and rebirth. That comforted my heart and released my fear. I began to give myself permission to be, to not drive to accomplish, and to enjoy watching the sunrises and wildlife on my creek. Slowly, I gained a new perspective on life. I relished my time to breathe, walk and play with the kitties. I read more. I laughed more. I began to understand the abyss I had created to insulate myself from the world. But I still couldn’t feel anything beyond the present moment. During this time, I heard from colleagues around the globe that they were on similar sabbaticals. We discussed being troubled and confused as to whether we actually wanted to reconnect with the world in some significant way. If so, how would we do that? We bounced from yes to no, and back, depending on where we were in the transmutation of our old selves. I truly understand why so many people die shortly after retiring. Moving into stillness is a tough adjustment. It is scary, lonely and totally disconcerting. It takes an enormous amount of self-love, self-forgiveness, patience and perseverance into what – one doesn’t know! I am far enough through the process that I can begin to feel myself being reborn. I see glimmers of my future and new self. I have moments building into minutes of reassurance and confidence. My mind is starting to whisper ideas. My commitment to and quality of work with my clients never wavered through this sabbatical, though the number of clients I could work with dramatically decreased. Continuing to be of service has been a great comfort and joy. The lessons and epiphanies continue to come fast and furiously. One huge and joyful discovery is that I want more from life. As a friend put it, I want a full life, a life where nothing is left on a bucket list. I know that when I am on the other side of this partial sabbatical, I will have the energy, ability, connection and passion to live my fullest life. www.wisdomdance.com kim@wisdomdance.com South Carolina –– USA
  • 27. Sibella Circle Member & Visionary Leader MAXIMAL LIVING Trust and Enjoy Your Journey   By Maxima May Forslund It is important to trust our journey.  When we are at peace and placing love and light in every situation, things continue to manifest unexpectedly especially when we least expect it.  Before, during and after my Belgium trip where I had the honor to speak at the Holistic Health Congress for Edgar Cayce A.R.E., I could not believe the number of things that manifested along the way.  I had the feeling that my angels were working overtime. As I packed for my trip I was thinking, “If only I had a nice scarf to wear since it may be cold in Europe?”  Living in Hawaii, we don’t need warm items like this.  To my surprise, a few days later, a friend whom I just met gifted me with a beautiful laced scarf.  It was more than I expected.  I was also thinking that needed a pair of shoes since the rubber soles of the shoes I owned had deteriorated because of the warm Hawaii weather.  In Hawaii, I mainly wear sandals and flip flops.  It was just a coincidence that Macy’s was having a huge sale.  I was so excited since I was able to purchase a pair of shoes that I would never wear in Hawaii. My trip included a 10 hour layover in Washington, D.C., so I had time to visit the National Mall and Memorial Parks.  I had scheduled a Segway tour beforehand but it was not exactly what I wanted.  At the check-in counter, the tour guide mentioned that I was the only one registered so he would be able to tour me anywhere I wanted.  It was a tour I dreamed of doing.  It was a gorgeous day with the President flying over our heads as he left for a trip from the White House.  I couldn’t have asked for a better tour. After an 11 hour flight home from Frankfurt, Germany to San Francisco, I missed my connecting flight to Kona.  The next flight home was not until the next day.  I contacted my husband to let him know my situation.  I made the comment that I just checked my luggage in and if I would have known, I would have transferred a few things to my carry-on, such as a change of clothes and toothbrush.  Little did I know that a woman in a wheelchair was listening to my conversation.  As soon as I hung-up, she came over to hand me a small leather like bag.  She mentioned that she got it from business class and there was a toothbrush in it.  It included a toothbrush, toothpaste, socks, and other useful items.  It was more I than needed.  I was also thankful for my cousin living only 15 minutes away from the airport to be able to visit and sleep over his place. It has been a blessing for me to write for Sibyl Magazine so that I could connect and share my blessings with you.  Aloha and mahalo for an amazing journey! www.MaximaMay.com Maxima@MaximaMay.com Hawaii –– USA
  • 28. Sibella Circle Member & Visionary Leader MEANINGFUL MOMENTS SHARED WITH LOVE The Power of Love By Sue Malcolm Ten days ago I was asked to help a very poorly 22 year old cat. She’d had a good life but was suffering from heart failure and had collapsed as a result of a suspected stroke. The vet had been booked for a final home visit, when this dearly beloved family member would peacefully leave our world. The owner asked if I could possibly send some Reiki to her cat Mia, knowing this holistic complementary had helped her stress, headache and discomfort and the ‘fear of unknown people’ her other cat had suffered. “Of course” I replied and I sent ‘distant healing’. The owner rang me on the Monday morning to say that her dear companion had a new spring in her step and the vet’s visit had been cancelled. Whilst offering Reiki I communicated with Mia. She shared her knowledge of ill health and nervousness of what would follow. I was able to put her at ease regarding the departure from earthly life that comes to us all. She then told me about her seeing her sister in the corner of the room, watching over her and protecting her. She informed me that this other cat, who had been very close to her, was going to be waiting to meet Mia as she arrived in heaven. Her fear subsided as I felt a sense of serene calmness take its place. I experienced a release from my body and Mia apparently let out an enormous sigh simultaneously. She told me “I’m ready to go now. I’m not frightened any more”. I could have cried with joy and simply asked if there was anything I could do. “Please keep sending me Reiki” came her reply. Nearly two weeks on from that phone call, she is pottering around, enjoying cuddles and savouring life far too much to be ready for her spirit to ascend and I am sending a daily dose of lovely relaxing energy. Reiki came into my life totally out of the blue as it does with so many practitioners, when the time is right for us to serve our Creator and fulfil our desires of helping others. What’s so lovely is that anyone can learn this technique. Learning to offer Reiki led to me discovering from a dying dog that humans can communicate with animals in a way I never dreamed possible too. When we feel deep and unconditional love amazing things can happen. Seeing how holistic and complementary therapies can transform the lives of animals encouraged me to drive forward what I know to be my life’s purpose – setting up a charity holistic animal hospital, pet therapy centre (where we will train therapists too) and rescue venture to change the face of animal care in the UK. Friends Of Baxter is my dream and it’s starting to become a reality. If you are not fulfilled and have something you’d really love to do, do it! You’ve been given that feeling for a reason. You only live this life once - make it truly AMAZING! www.thereikiexperience.co.uk sue@thereikiexperience.co.uk England –– UNITED KINGDOM
  • 29. Sibella Circle Member & Visionary Leader SOUL JOURNEYS The Morning After By Roberta Z. Gilgore As I reflect on this past year, which was marred by a brutal presidential election, I suspect that instead of the typical post-New Year’s Eve hangover, most people will be ushering in the New Year with a severe case of post-traumatic stress. Ralph Waldo Emerson once said “We learn geology after an earthquake.” Fortunately, my past experiences in politics have taught me how to take a wider view of the current state of affairs and damaging fallout that is sweeping across the nation. There was a time in my life when I was actively involved in both state and local political campaigns in upstate New York, including working for both the Governor and Attorney General. While desiring to make a positive difference in my community, I regrettably witnessed the seedier side of politics and government, where campaigns are about winning above all else, even to the point of political parties throwing their own candidates under the bus. Unfortunately, once an election is over, the opposing parties go back to business as usual without any lingering affects while the electorate is left feeling beaten up, abused and even traumatized. As I watched the political drama unfold this past year, I found myself observing, rather than getting caught up in a flawed system that was quickly imploding. By not allowing fear to cloud my vision, I was able to see that an implosion was just what the doctor ordered. The ensuing fallout from my perspective is the final wake-up call our country needed to shake itself out of complacency. Witnessing the fear and anger that is bleeding onto our streets, I am reminded just how deep the wounds of racism, economic slavery and endless wars still exist in each of us. The real enemy, however, is not something to be found outside of us or in a broken political system. The real enemy lives deep within our own personal wounding. If we have the courage to look deeper within ourselves, however, we will find that we have more in common with our perceived enemies than differences. Let’s be honest. Have we never unfairly judged another person? Have we never said or acted in a way that was hurtful to another? Until we have the courage to face our shadows and wounding, we cannot begin the healing process that can ultimately help us create positive changes in our communities. As we move into 2017, we are all being called upon to look deeper into the darkest corners of our soul in order to free ourselves from painful experiences and destructive patterns we give so much power to and project onto others. It’s time to walk our talk—expressing unity and loving resolve to create positive solutions and results. Together, we can do so much more, and perhaps as time goes by, forgiveness and acceptance will give birth to a more compassionate and loving world. Today, I choose love over fear. I hope you will join me. www.SoulJourneysWithRoberta.com Roberta.Gilgore@yahoo.com North Carolina –– USA
  • 30. Sibella Circle Member & Visionary Leader TAKE SOUL POWERED LEAPS Stand Up By Diana Lovitt The US election made it clear, now is the time for us to step into what we women are here to do. I feel it so strong in my bones. It’s a call to action, to love, to seek truth, to caretake, to serve, to gather, to strengthen, and to understand. It is a definitive time to stand for what and who we want to be as women and a people. What’s not working? We can no longer hide in the little safe patches we’ve created…we need to step out, step up, stand up, and show up for what we believe. For the truth, the love, the beauty, and the healing that is ready to come into being. This will be different for each of us and that is okay. This is a lesson too. It is not going to be easy. It is not going to be effortless. It’ll probably get worse before it gets better. Drop into your heart and know your truth when this happens. This is where you know who you are. And showing up authentically is powerful. I believe what’s most necessary right now is for us to be strong in our being. To find that inner knowing, truth, and support that you have inside. Embrace the tools you need to get here. I know I will be putting my spiritual tools and practices to greater use. I will also be leaning on my community of friends and family more. I will take advantage of healing sessions and consultations, spa days, healthy foods, and deep inner work to be there for myself and others as we all heal and grow. And as a healer and spiritual coach, I feel the call to be fierce in helping others show up to their highest calling more than ever. Life needs to get real in ways that matter. In our communities, our families, the way we use the resources of Gaia (Mother Earth), our priorities/values, and the ways we help others we share this world with. Ask yourself these questions: How can I take care of myself and my loved ones in these times? How can we show up to from a place of strength, courage, and integrity? Plan some steps and personal practices now. How can I take steps that secure the things I believe in for our world? Donating, volunteering, activism, and creation. Research and take action. How am I not listening to or choosing to ignore what doesn’t fit in my safe small patch? And am I supporting, in all ways, what I do believe in? Do these in big or small ways. Do what feels best for you now. It’s hit many of us very hard. It’s okay to be angry, disheartened and lost. I know you are a warrior goddess and you will rise. You’ll rise to meet the desires and dreams that are ready to come forth. It’s exposed all the worst in us. And now, we have the opportunity for the best to come through. When we stand up and be vigilant about what we want it to be. It has challenged us. Challenges bring opportunity. Stand up warrior goddesses! www.innerdrop.com diana@innerdrop.com Washington –– USA
  • 31. Sibella Circle Member & Visionary Leader MINDFULNESS IS A DANCE OF HAPPINESS My Healing Prayer By Dr. Melissa Samartano As this year comes to an end, I reflect back on all the articles I have shared on holistic health and healing, I would like to thank Sibyl Magazine for this AMAZING opportunity and leave you with a Healing Prayer. Healing Prayer: Mind, Body, & Spirit I open my heart center with love to explore the spirit which lives within my body. I realize my body is the temple of my being. I am not just this body but an expression of the spirit in visible form.  During this yoga and mindfulness practice, my intention is to be totally present in my body, mind, and spirit.  When I move in life I move with great respect, love, grace, and appreciation toward my body. I open my heart inviting whatever arises in awareness. I pay close attention on purpose, deeply moving my body slowly through a gentle sun salutation, without judgment to whatever thoughts enter into the present moment. By intentionally practicing yoga and mindfulness, I pay more careful moment to moment attention on how my body feels and what thoughts enter into my mind. I can live more fully recognizing this as an opportunity to release all my fears of failure, disappointment, sorrow, sadness, grief, loss, or any success I may have. Because of my mind’s tendency to be scattered and easily distracted, I use the breath as an anchor to the present moment. I rest in my breath during this yoga and mindfulness practice. I try to counteract strong forces of distraction while training my body, heart, and mind to settle down working on the unification of one moment at a time. During this time I am fully present within myself in each moment. I make a commitment to myself during this practice to engage my attention and awareness in the experience of the present moment.  The union of the body, mind, and spirit is a gift. It helps me connect with my intuition providing me wisdom and insight into better ways of taking care of myself.  Namaste www.holistichealingmindbodyspirit.com msamartano@comcast.net Massachusetts –– USA
  • 32. Sibella Circle Member & Visionary Leader REACHING FOR THE LIGHT Let Us Play! By Kirstin Nussgruber When was the last time you played so hard you forgot about…well everything around you? Time, location, commitments, responsibilities to-do lists. You were simply lost in the unbounded exhilaration of play, a timeless and mindless zone only the young seem to have privileged access to. Most of us these days are caught up in the merciless grind of needing to achieve and accomplish in order to meet deadlines of all sorts, be it business, family, socially or financially related. Those of us in this community understand we need to find time to be “calm-in-mind” or perhaps “wordless-in-head”, there are many ways to describe this peaceful and rejuvenating process that is so vital to recharging our batteries, keeping us going, surviving. It is a cornerstone of my mentoring approach, helping my clients become aware of this state of being we have been systematically taught to ignore, starting at school where kids these days are taught to fill their time with busy work rather than acquire real skills to navigate problems that includes allowing quiet time to refocus and re-energize. By the time we are caught up in the midst of the responsibilities of adult life, we have forgotten what it feels like to have nothing in our minds except a single sensation that gives us peace and pleasure. Many of us turn to meditation, and it is an extremely effective tool to get to that sought-after place. But for some, meditation in itself becomes a chore, as it is essentially a skill that needs to be learned and practiced in order to reap the benefits. For some, having other options to attain this state of nothingness in the mind is sometimes a necessity. I currently attend a puppy play group with our newest family member Max. Watching them engage in this unburdened and rambunctious playfulness allows me to submerge myself with them in an experience that leaves no room for strategic or worrying thoughts. Best still, I want to play like that again, where everything else is shut out for a little while. Last summer our family launched a puzzle mania period, quite spontaneously, over several weeks we managed to complete six, all in joint effort, taking over all large surfaces we had access to. Works in progress, whenever we could make time. Not only was it hugely bonding for all of us, but in that time in which you were searching for that missing piece, and contributing to the whole, nothing else mattered. Although your mind was engaged, it was singularly focused, and a very peaceful and grounding state to be in, even for just a brief moment. Don’t you agree it’s time we give ourselves permission to lose ourselves in playful moments we once had unlimited access to? What was once just fun has indeed become an essential tool for mental and physical survival. www.eatholistic.com kirstin@eatholistic.com New Jersey –– USA

  • 34. Sibella Circle Member & Visionary Leader MY QUANTUM HEALTH TRANSFORMATION My Super Powers By Karen Holton Super powers: everyone has them but few are even aware of them. Super powers come from within and are supplied by Source Energy, also known as Holy Spirit, which is ever present regardless of our current state of consciousness. We do not need the assistance of religious paradigms to access this unlimited power; all we need do is to keep open to the concept by creating sacred space within. During this often confusing shift from old paradigm to new, we experience both realities for a while, but we also have the assistance of spiritual technologies to see us through. Rather than learning to do something specific, new paradigm realities emerge all on their own as we remove that which is not really a part of us. Bad programming, patriarchy, religiosity, self-doubt, and poor health can hold us back by lowering our overall resonant frequency. Waiting within the authentic self lies everything we need to know, do, be and express. One of our super powers is in finding and utilizing our Inner Guru. Our Inner Guru resides as the Observer in the presence of the Now. When we stop looking backward and forward, time becomes creative magic. The road to mindful, conscious living is the quickest route to find our Inner Guru. Once we become a permanent unit, our Inner Guru will reveal more super powers, as we see for ourselves what only new paradigm reality can make possible. The first thing I learned from my Inner Guru was how to self-diagnose and repair my own self-defeating patterns of thought and behaviour, which were holding me back. I soon became aware of “just noticeable” differences in my life; and as I became aware of these changes, I strengthened my resolve to continue with this fascinating ascension process. The effects are always physical, mental/emotional, and spiritual – all at the same time. I discovered the powerful influence of a biologically appropriate diet, which includes blue-green algae and wild plants. They supply advanced nutrition and medicines for our bodies, but they also alter our DNA, assisting with our ascension process by raising our overall resonant frequency. Then I discovered crystals and Zen Domes orgonite (which amplify the power and influence of crystals). Think of crystals as beautiful, spiritual friends with diverse personalities, which communicate at hundreds of thousands of KHz – they pulse faster than the speed of light! Further, angels are connected to specific crystal frequencies, which is why they are used as spiritual communicators. Crystals exist on a continuum which bridge the realms of heaven and earth. Since finding my Inner Guru, I have developed an amazing array of super powers like: becoming a channel, a shamanic healer, and have the ability to create in the abstract and bring this into our shared reality. Work with me and let me introduce you to your Inner Guru. Once a mind has expanded, it never goes back, and the reward within new paradigm living is super powers, which will never let you down. www.karenholtonhealthcoach.com QuantumHealthNow@gmail.com British Columbia –– CANADA
  • 35. Sibella Circle Member & Visionary Leader ACCESS YOUR INNER ADVISORY BOARD Right or Wrong By Gina Medvedz When it comes to God, there is no such thing as right and wrong regarding human behavior. God is only good, and on this earthly plane we have all been given free will. But, we are all souls. As we simultaneously run around lying, stealing and killing, we move further and further from the part of us that is God, and ground ourselves in ego. Our ego is like an invisible part of the body, created by the brain and based on our opinion of ourselves and the opinions of others about us. Our ego is not real and it is not who we truly are. Young children are ego-free, following their hearts and fluently speaking imagination, the language of Spirit. The moment we begin to worry what others will think of our behavior is the moment ego kicks in and we align ourselves not with God, but with our false sense of self. Ego is not your friend. Like a seven-year-old child, your ego will judge you and everyone it encounters. It will call you names like stupid and unworthy to keep you from stepping into the truth of who you are. Ego is the only reason we judge others when we think they are wrong. If we release ego and stay in our soul, we are able to know true love. From that place of love, our fear and judgment convert to compassion. As we stop judging others, we are able to turn our focus inward and begin to heal our own disconnections from God. I was one of the most judgmental people you could meet. I gossiped about others and worried constantly about what everyone else was saying about me. I never followed through on anything, wouldn’t step out of my comfort zone and I didn’t make friends easily. I trusted no one, but it was only because I couldn’t trust myself. I blamed everyone for who I was. It wasn’t until I was in my akashic records and Spirit showed me the beautiful soul I am that I came to understand the truth about ego and how I had allowed it to run my life for forty years. That’s a long time to take direction from something which isn’t even real. One of the first lessons that Spirit taught me was to take responsibility. The finger that I had been pointing at others my whole life needed to be pulled back in my own direction. I was forced to examine where it was that I myself was not aligned with love. Gossiping, laziness, lying, drinking, letting myself down, beating myself up and judging others all had to go. Not because it is the right thing to do, but because I desire to be aligned with God. I want to do good, and God is only good. But, that’s my story. Not everyone will choose to align themselves with good in this lifetime. Like God, I will love them anyway. www.wellnesstransformations.com gina@wellnesstransformations.com Pennsylvania –– USA “When people are soulful and want to come together … THEY DO!” ~ Sibyl English Click here to purchase your Lifetime Subscription –– NOW, FOR ONLY $54. • 36. Sibella Circle Member & Visionary Leader MOVING FROM DARKNESS INTO LIGHT Ending Prejudice in 2017 By Marsha Hankins Sexism, racism, ageism, nationalism, religionism, politicism. Are your isms blocking you from moving into your full light? They are for most folks. I was raised in the south in the 1950s and 60s when sexism and racism were pushed to the front burner of American consciousness. Bra burnings and civil rights marches left American forever changed. However, I remember hearing a multitude of prejudicial isms tossed about my entire life. If people were not being judged by their gender or the color of their skin, they were being judged for their nationality, their religion, their political affiliations, their social and economic situations, their education, and more. People would ask the origin of someone’s name or who their parents voted for or what church they attended so that everyone could be put into the proper category. If someone was Jewish or Catholic or Irish or German or democrat or republican, then we would know exactly who they were, what they believed, and into which box we could put them. We could know who we should like and who we should not. Based on their labels, we would know who we could trust and who we could not. I remember being the only girl in one of my high school classes who would take missed assignments to one of our sick classmates because she was a lesbian. After all, everyone knew she might infect us if we got too close. I have not always been so brave in the face of prejudices and have given into my isms throughout my life more often than I would like to admit. On the other side of the coin, I have traveled to places in the world where I was labeled the ugly American. I have been talked about behind my back in a Mexican grocery store and more. None knew anything about me except my color and nationality. We all have isms to heal. We have all been raised with prejudice of one form or another, not to mention what we have brought with us from past lives. Each ism (and each resulting stereotype) creates judgment, anger, fear, and, therefore, separation. We can never know Oneness if we hold any form of separation. I know from my own experience that our isms can be subtle. I am often surprised when I notice a touch of prejudice creeping into my thoughts. I always try to be very conscious of my thoughts so that I know what remains to be healed. People ask what they can do to heal the separation they feel in this country and around the world. I recommend that we each set our intentions to identify and heal every stereotype, every ism we still hold so that we know only love. Let’s make this our New Year’s resolution and be only love. www.theendofduality.com marshagh1999@gmail.com Colorado –– USA
  • 37. Sibella Circle Member & Visionary Leader IN JOY THIS MOMENT Together By Ruth Mroch Some of the wisest things I’ve learned, I’ve learned from dogs. Masters at both celebrating and comforting. they are innately wise and kind. Puck, my sister’s dog, modeled this in such a tender way, it has stayed with me. My beloved beagle, Boji, passed two years ago, but while she lived she was always by my side. We had great conversations, and I was often struck by her uncanny ability to understand. Rarely did I leave her behind, but on a visit to my sister, I left Boji at Margaret’s house while I went to an appointment. She howled when I left. My sister told me the rest of the story when I returned. It seems Boji sat at the door howling for quite some time and Puck, Margaret’s bichon frise, got worried. He ran back and forth from Boji to my sister, barking and distraught. “Do something!” he seemed to say. Margaret tried to console Boji, to coax her away from the door, but she wouldn’t have it. She just sat there, howling. Marg finally left her there, but Puck continued to pace back and forth between Boji and Marg. At last, he planted his fanny next to Boji, and howled with her. When Boji moved to the window seat where she could watch the driveway, he sat there with her too, staring out the window, waiting for me. When I finally came home, Puck celebrated with Boji, joined her in her doggy happy dance, and delighted that their vigil had ended. Puck couldn’t fix Boji’s problem, but he stayed with her while she dealt with it. That’s meaningful. No one should feel alone in this world. Letting someone know she isn’t alone, ever, is the deepest kind of comfort. This is a powerful lesson on the power of empathy and compassion. Humans could learn a lot from Puck when it comes to how we treat each other, especially now as some of our neighbors are persecuted for their religion, gender, the color of their skin, or even their political views. Standing with them, letting them know they are not alone, is a powerful message. I recently read an article about a school where all the student wore hijab in support of their Muslim friends. In another school, students shaved their heads in support of a classmate undergoing cancer treatments. It moves me to see gestures of solidarity that express we are all in this together. It may sometimes require courage to speak when injustice is done, but the gestures don’t have to be grand. Simple kindness or a caring presence is often all that’s required. Sometimes we may howl together and sometimes we may dance, but the key word is “together”. Together, we can create a new world where everyone is valued, respected, and able to contribute. What a celebration that will be! www.InJoyThisMoment.com ruthmroch@outlook.com Illinois –– USA
  • 38. Sibella Circle Member & Visionary Leader EXPLORING THE DYNAMICS OF MYSTICAL TRANSFORMATION The Birth of the Divine By Mischa V Alyea Over the past year, I have tried to outline the framework of mysticism. One of my first realizations was that mystical writings tell of the feelings and sensations that a spiritual student encounters as they travel the path of transformation. As we explored further, it became clear that mystical transformation requires that we weave the masculine and feminine energies into a wholeness or Holiness within ourselves. Later, we found that the Divine Feminine energy rises up from Mother Earth and the Divine Masculine energy falls down from Father Sky.   The ancients believed that women were naturally endowed with the Divine Feminine energy from birth. This meant that her transformation would require that she enhance the masculine essence that is latent within her spiritual system. We learned that the first mystical initiation of any female was The Wedding. In this ceremony, the initiate is married to the male deity. From an energetic point of view, the purpose of this ceremony is to open the gate at the top of the head and allow the Divine Masculine essence of Father Sky, known as Grace to most Christians, to flow downward into her soul. As the energy flows downward to the area of the throat, the initiate feels as if she is being kissed. This is just the beginning of the mystical journey.   The ceremonies of the goddess were usually tied to the planting and harvesting. The ancient cultures considered the earth to be the womb of Mother Earth, from which she brought forth grain. Then one day, it dawned on me that the mystical ceremonies were celebrating a process of spiritual transformation that is similar to the process of pollination. The ancients believed that crops grew and trees bore fruit because of the blessing that fell from Father Sky. Since this type of conception comes from above, the virginity of the woman is not compromised. Here is the reasoning behind the Immaculate Conception and Virgin Birth. The child that is born of this union is always male because the divine child is described as the pure essence of Father Sky. For those who practice the mystery, once the inner being is filled with Grace, the excess energy pools in the abdominal area. Over time, this energy will coalesce in to a moving ball of energy that feels like a baby kicking in the womb.   What most people do not know is that when we celebrate Christmas, we are actually celebrating the culmination of a woman’s spiritual transformation. So, this Christmas may you be so filled with the Grace of the Father that you conceive and give birth to the divine male child within yourself. www.AashniSpiritualLiving.com Mischa@AashniSpiritualLiving.com Missouri –– USA
  • 39. Sibella Circle Member & Visionary Leader PALACE OF POSSIBILITIES Closer to the Heart By Donna Tobey Another election year has come and gone. Thank God for that. The reactions and dramas that have people reeling in emotional outbursts, lashing out to defend their positions has been fascinating to observe. So much overreaction to a presidency that is still completely unknown. So many protests being held before an official decision has been made about anything. I can’t help but ask, what the hell is going on? It’s a fair question. Have we gotten so far off the beaten path that we fail to understand WHO truly is in charge? It is as if people have made government their god. And in doing so, are perpetrating a world of fear, a world full of negativity. They are creating the world they say they do not want. Be observant. Do you not see the warfare? We have all just come from a battleground. And now it is over. Or is it? Each of us has a responsibility to one another, as human beings living in a society of challenge and change. That means we have a choice on how WE want to live. WE, the people. The challenge IS change. And that may mean pulling our energy out of the warfare and investing in ways that actually bring more life into the world. How can we rebuild and restructure a world of oneness and peace? We are responsible for our thoughts, words and ACTIONS. Challenge yourself to see beyond this natural world of “reality “and understand that there is a bigger picture and bigger plan. Now more than ever, we are faced with OURSELVES. Yes, you. You the individual and you the collective have power baby! You are a Divine magnificent creator. How will you invest your creative life force Energy? Will you go it alone and glom onto the collective spin that has gone so far astray? Will you give agreements to what others are bringing into this world? Or will you stand? Sometimes in life we are called to stand even if we are the only ones standing. Sometimes we have to voice what our heart is communicating and say, “Hey, wait a minute. There is another way.” Pull your energy out of what is going on right now and choose peace for ALL, love for ALL, kindness for ALL. All means all. Partner with the one true God and ask your Higher Self how you can be part of the solution instead of part of the problem. If you aren’t part of the solution, you are part of the problem. Closer to the heart we will receive the wisdom for our right next step towards a world of wonder, oneness and peace. The possibilities are endless! “And the men who old high places, must be the ones to start to mold a new reality, closer to the heart.” Amen. www.ygpowerbaby.com ugotpowerbaby@gmail.com New Hampshire –– USA Did you know that by becoming a Sibyl Magazine SUBSCRIBER you immediately gain access to join us on exciting events and spirituality retreats?!?!

Day1: Gathering around the beautifully decorated table for lunch, we each discovered a card at our place setting with an artistically written “Quality word.” Each of us would then share what the meaning of our “Quality” held for us. As each person shared, it became even more apparent, that I could clearly see and feel a reflection of “Me” within each of them. My card read, “Trust.” For me, Trust and Faith are entwined as one and the same struggle throughout most of my life. The next seven days would test my Faith and change my life in ways I had never imagined. I believe that Every Day presents a blank canvas that we paint with brush strokes of thoughts from our experiences and/or experiences of our thoughts. I made a commitment to myself to allow each day to unfold without expectations or attachments for the duration of the retreat. That required Trust and Faith. For the first time ever, I presented my speech without notes or tele-prompters. I spoke from my heart, and though I was a bit nervous, I was ok! Little did I expect a series of “First time” events throughout the remainder of this extraordinary retreat! Another “First” was a reading of my Akashic records. This experience unleashed a Tsunami of tears I haven’t experienced since my husband passed away 12 years ago. Even then, the Tsunamis were a private event. The difference being that until this particular day, “I” had never allowed myself to Trust again, to be held, cradled and comforted through the storm. They are the ones who share this extraordinary journey of life with me. I write this message With Heartfelt Gratitude to Sibyl for your love, encouragement and creating a gateway for women to shine their beauty, their voice, heart and soul. To my new sisters Donna, Marilee, Lynn, Melissa, Carol and last but not least, my dearest “Gurufriend” and soul twin Terri, thank you all for being the Rainbows of light and love! www.SoniaTrejo.com Sonia@SoniaTrejo.com California –– USA

Sibella Circle Member & Visionary Leader TRANSFORMING OURSELVES … TRANSFORMING OUR WORLD Our Most Inspired Lives Await Us By Lynn Ely As I sat in front of the blank page of my computer screen, I noticed familiar thoughts and feelings arising once again. Each and every month before writing my article for SIBYL I would ask my higher guidance….What is highest for me to write about this month? Empty space would usually arise followed by subtle anxiety. As I stayed with this, softening and opening, material would eventually begin to arise. This was a beautiful process of learning to trust and let go. Today is no different. Writing monthly articles this year has not been easy-breezy for me. Often, it felt like I was wrestling a tiger as I worked and reworked my article, my faith and trust tested time and again. But each month, I would eventually complete my article feeling uplifted and satisfied. I began writing at age 11 when I was given my first journal. Over the years, journaling has allowed me to integrate my thoughts and feelings while documenting the events of my life. ‘I wonder what I will be saying about my life at the end of this journal?’  I would usually write on the first page.  After completing  a journal, I would read it cover to cover. Much like a book or movie, I saw the storylines of my journaled life unfold….. Beginning, middle and endings. Journaling throughout my lifetime taught me time and again about the impermanent nature of our world, the constancy of change within it and how my suffering usually involved resistance to change. It also helped me resolve and let go of my past which helped me to come more fully into the present..   Arriving back in the States the week before the election after giving my talk at Sibyl’s Wellness and Spirituality Expo in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, I was met by a burst of intensity both on the home and national front. My talk regarding change proved timely and also helpful to me personally as I met my unfolding circumstances.  Many said the outcome of our election was a direct result of peoples deep desire for change. While the changes needed in our external world are obvious to most, what is oftentimes less acknowledged, yet equally if not more important, is our need for internal change. The outcome of this election has initiated an important, albeit, painful process. Although I had hoped we would choose a gentler way, sometimes pain can be the most powerful motivator. Our shadow, our collective unhealed trauma, repressed for eons, is now coming to the surface for revealing and healing. This is good. It has been curtailing our evolutionary growth. If we are to survive, thrive and live our most inspired lives here on the planet, we need to take the next evolutionary step in consciousness so that our decisions issue forth from love, not fear. And that is an inside job. We are co-creators in this unfolding storyline. … Our most inspired life awaits us.  Let the healing begin. www.awakeningplanet.com awakeningplanetnow@yahoo.com California –– USA
