- Hi everyone. My name is Stefano Pochet and i’m going to present you oStream.
- oStream is a mobile application which offers a superfast and always available way to access your social networks.
- So, during 1998 when I was surfing the web i found myself spending most of the time not surfing, neither reading mails but actually i was spending most of the time waiting for the webpage to load.When ADSL arrived it completely changed my internet experience. Finally I was really spending my time on surfing and reading emails.
- Today, I use Facebook quite often, and when I access it throughmy mobile, I find myself spending most of the time waiting for the application to load.The problem is the bad quality of mobile internet connection which is delaying any interaction with Facebook.
- We want to change this.We want you to stop waiting and wasting your time.We want that while you use Facebook you spend time actually using it.So, how we are going to do that?oStream simply periodically replicate your Facebook informationsto your phone and when needed it serve them to you instantly.

- Let me show you what we have achieved so far.On the right we have demo of Facebook, on the left we have exactly the same interaction with oStream. On the bottom there are two counters which will report waiting time.oStream is done, Facebook is still loading.While typing with the phone we pause the timer.Again, Facebook is still loading.That’s 12 seconds.12 seconds were spent waiting. 12 seconds on Facebook not actually using the app.This is the difference between an application with a bad experience, an application you use only because you have a particular need, and you basically feel forced to use, and an application with a good experience, an application you use because you simply enjoy spending time on.
- We want to change this.We want you to stop waiting and wasting your time.We want that while you use Facebook you spend time actually using it.So, how we are going to do that?oStream simply periodically replicate your Facebook informationsto your phone and when needed it serve them to you instantly.
- So. Who are our target customers?Facebook has 1 billion users, half of them are on mobile. oStream target are heavy users in developed countries.This is 60 million people who are using Facebook very often and that would appreciate oStream solution.
- Anyway, the same technology can be applied with great benefits to any other social network making the future potential market even bigger.
- The business model is to sell advertising.We forecast to earn 1 euro per active user per year.In 3 years we forecast to have a revenue of 20 millions euro per year, 50% of which will be margin.
- oStream has different competitors, and the main one is Facebook itself.All of them are very far from oStream technological solution and it will take many months for them to replicate it.
- The team is composed by me, Stefano Pochet, I am a computer engineer and entrepreneur and Domenico di Donna who is experienced designer. We are already in contact with a different managers who complete the team.
- We are searching for funds for developement andmarketing.We are releasing the public version in January. But in the last months we have made extraordinary efforts to complete the application, because we really wanted to show it to you and let you try how good it is.That's why we are proud to announce that we are going private beta : today.
