The URS is hosted by the Honors College
Student Ambassadors, who believe in the
importance of sharing undergraduate research in
a multi-disciplinary environment. The URS:
 Provides a forum to present their research
to other students and faculty
 Gives students an opportunity to
practice public speaking to prepare for
future conferences
 Offers students a chance to network with
other students and faculty
 Helps students grow as emerging
professionals in their fields of study
To achieve these ends, the URS is a congenial
and professional environment.
Our Mission
 Faculty moderators
Select faculty experts evaluate all presentations
and give constructive feedback to students, to
help them hone their presentation and public-
speaking skills.
 The entire event is free
To encourage students to present, the SHSU
colleges sponsor the URS so that there are no
registration fees for those who present or attend.
Meals and free gifts are provided.
