Megan Lansdell completed two courses over four days in October 2015 at National Louis University's Tampa Bay campus. The courses were "American Dreams: You and Your Community" and "American Dreams: USA and Florida in a Nutshell". A total of 80 hours were completed across the two courses and 8 continuing education units were awarded. The courses focused on personal and professional growth, conflict resolution, culture shock, cultural diversity in US communities and Florida, and gaining understanding of US customs, history, and the city of Tampa Bay.

To Whom It May Concern:
This letter is to confirm that Megan Lansdell has completed the “American Dreams: You
and Your Community” AND “American Dreams: USA and Florida in a Nutshell” courses offered
through National Louis University. The courses took place over a four-day intensive weekend held
October 9-12, 2015 at our Tampa Bay campus. A total of 80 educational hours have been
completed. Eight (8) Continuing Education Units (CEU) are being awarded to this student.
The course descriptions are listed below:
In the course, American Dreams: You and Your Community”, students will identify their personal
learning and growth goals for their international experience and complete projects and experiences that
allow them to realize these goals. In addition, students will examine their conflict resolution styles and
learn strategies for more effectively resolving conflicts they will encounter while living abroad. They will
better understand culture shock and how it can affect them both in the US and when returning home.
Finally, students will learn about and experience the rich cultural diversity inherent in US communities,
with a specific focus on Florida.
In the course, “American Dreams: USA and Florida in a Nutshell”, students’ primary learning objective
includes gaining a greater understanding of the United States and the City of Tampa Bay. Students will
have the opportunity to share their home country's culture with one another and their American
student peers, and to compare it to key aspects of American life. Students will gain in-depth knowledge
of US customs, rituals, celebrations, and important holidays while also learning about exciting events in
US history. Students will also have the opportunity to learn a great deal about the city of Tampa Bay and
explore many of the important historical and cultural sites that they learn about in class.
