4. Mohammed Yunus
Founder of Grameen Bank and
Nobel laureate
MuhammadYunus is a Nobel Prize-
winning economist who pioneered
microfinancing in Bangladesh.
He founded the Grameen Bank, with
which he shared the 2006 Nobel
Peace Prize “for their efforts to create
economic and social
development”.
He received the United States
Presidential Medal of Freedom in
2009 and the Congressional Gold
Medal in 2010.
5. Maqsudul Alam
Maqsudul Alam is a Bangladeshi
American Scientist and Professor.
Dr. Maqsudul Alam achieved Four
milestones in genomics -
sequencing the genomes of
Papaya, Rubber, Jute and Fungus.
Maksudul Alam is a professor of
the University of Hawaii, earlier
decoded the genome of papaya in
the USA and rubber plant in
Malaysia.
6. Salman Khan
Salman, a graduate of MIT and
Harvard Business School, has been
listed as one ofTime Magazine’s
100 most influential people in the
world.
He is the founder of the Khan
Academy, a non-profit educational
website which is now the largest
virtual ‘school’ in the world with
over 10 million students.
Forbes magazine featured Khan on
its cover with the story "$1Trillion
Opportunity“.
7. Jamal Nazrul Islam
Jamal Nazrul Islam was a Bangladeshi
mathematical physicist and cosmologist.
Professor Islam worked in the Institute of
Theoretical Astronomy, Cambridge from
1967 until 1971. Later he worked as a
researcher in California Institute of
Technology and University of
Washington.
His research areas include Applied
Mathematics,Theoretical Physics,
Mathematical Physics, theory of
Gravitation, General Relativity,
Mathematical Cosmology and Quantum
FieldTheory.
8. Sakib Al Hassan
Bangladesh cricket player
Shakib is unarguably the best
cricketer in recent Bangladeshi
sporting record.
In 2015, Shakib became the first
and only cricketer in history to
be ranked the No.1 all-rounder
by ICC in its Player Rankings in
all three formats of the game
(Test,Twenty20 and One Day
Internationals).
