The document discusses the structure and function of the human brain. It is made up of around 100 billion nerve cells that are all connected to each other, totaling over 100 trillion connections. The brain continues to grow in size throughout a person's life, except for the eyes. While a larger brain can store more information, its size alone does not correlate with a person's level of intelligence. The human brain contains over 400 billion cells that work together to power this complex organ.
2. What are the different parts of the
brain?
1. Lobes
2. Motor Cortex
3. Somatosensory
4. Brain Stem
5. Limbic System
6. Cerebrum
7. Cerebellum
3. How does the brain
work?
Your brain is the hub of your nervous system. It
is made up of 100 billion nerve cells – about the
same as the number of trees in the amazon
rainforest. Each cell is connected to around
10,000 others. The total number of connections
in your brain is the same as the number of
leaves in the amazon rainforest and that’s about
100 trillion.
4. Does your brain increase in size?
Yes the only thing that does not grow in the
human body are the eyes.
5. Does a bigger brain mean your
smarter?
The human brain has lots of creases so when
you flatten it, it is twice the size of your head.
This allows for storage of lots of information. So
overall no if your brain is bigger it doesn’t mean
your more intelligent.
6. How many cells are used to make up
the brain?
The human brain contains over
400,094,800,000.
