To whom it may concern,
It is with great pleasure that I write this recommendation for Matthew Rosenfeld,
who worked on the counselling and lifeguarding staff at Kennolyn Camps during the
summers of 2013 and 2014.
During this time, I developed a very high regard for Matthew based on the
outstanding contributions that he made to the campers, the Kennolyn families and
to his peers. Matthew’s unabating selflessness came hand in hand with his ability to
approach work analytically and to problem solve efficiently; I regularly observed
these skills in times when Matthew was faced with challenging confrontations in
what can be an incredibly pressuring and demanding environment at Kennolyn.
It is rare that you find a camper signing up for an activity, not for the reason that it’s
their favourite, but because their favourite counsellor is teaching it – this happened
with all of Matthew’s classes. I believe the reasons behind this to be Matthew’s level
of passion, creativity and energy that he concurrently infused into each and every
day. Additionally, Matthew’s excellent creativity and leadership skills meant that he
was trusted and able to individually and effectively lead large groups of campers in a
variety of activities. It must be noted that Matthew was well respected amongst his
co-workers for his willingness to help and to assume greater responsibility at any
time of need. Matthew also trained and certified as an American Red Cross Lifeguard
during his employment training.
Matthew is an accountable, hard working and brilliant individual, a role model to his
peers, his friends and others around him. Matthew’s upbeat demeanor and can do
attitude meant that his peers looked up to him as a leader, someone they can count
on and someone they can learn from. I have no doubt that the skills and life lessons
Matthew has attained and applied at Kennolyn will carry him far in his professional
and personal careers.
Matthew holds my highest of recommendations to anyone considering him for
employment and it would be my pleasure to further discuss if required.
Sincerely,
Jack Linscott
Program Director, Kennolyn Camps
