 Led multidisciplinary teams to determine root-cause analysis and reduce the risk of environmental releases and safety issues.

 Realized significant costs savings to the plant by performing facilities improvement projects to reduce energy consumption,
increase the use rate of the fork lift fleet, increase the longevity of aging infrastructure through repairs and designing better use
patterns to avoid future damage, and increasing site security.

 Elected to office on a platform to increase economic opportunities in the western portions of the city; worked with city staff to
redesign the city’s master plan, create an economic development agency on the west side and ultimately enticed a grocery store

 Created a committee to foster community involvement; secured funding from local refineries, Big West Oil and Chevron, and
created a series of community events designed to foster a sense of community and encourage involvement.
