WORK EXPERIENCE:
Management – Managed a writing/editing department, retail store, and accounting
department.
• Managed the Editing Department of an international ministry, supervising three
writers and editors, providing general oversight of the production of written materials for
the educational, marketing, and media outreach departments. Some of my cost-saving
ideas were implemented saving the organization thousands of dollars a year.
• Directed the financial management activities of an international organization,
performing all duties from budgeting and forecasting to AP/AR. During my time there, I
was able to cut administrative costs by approximately three percent.
• Managed a fast food restaurant. I hired/fired employees, scheduled shifts, and trained
employees; did weekly inventories, ordered and purchased materials; provided payroll,
budgeting, forecasting, P&L statements; and performed food and labor costs control; and
enhanced employee productivity. I supervised 27 regular crew members and three shift
managers in addition to part-time crew members. It became the third highest volume
Taco Bell retail store in the country at the time during my time there.
• Managed the fund-raising program of non-profit organizations helping to raise up to
$2 million annually.
Accounting – Carried out extensive accounting duties including, but not limited to, general
ledger, payroll, reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, report preparations, and audit
coordination.
• Developed stylized formats and maintained all accounting and financial records, with
check-signing authority.
• Performed bank reconciliations, balanced books, and prepared payroll.
• Maintained general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, contribution tracking and
receipting.
• Prepared budgets and budget tracking reports and generated all accounting
documentation.
• Processed insurance payments/claims.
• Assured compliance with all government and ECFA regulations.
• Coordinated funding needs and strategies with overseas offices.

Education - Taught English as a Second Language, high school Spanish, computer use, and

2. • Taught English as a foreign language in China to English majors, Chinese teachers of
English, and businessmen. Classes include integrated (listening, speaking, reading,
writing); listening lab; public speaking; arranged activities; personal and group
interactions, vocabulary, and reading and writing; and American culture.
• Wrote and edited some of the curricula for use in seminaries and Bible schools.
• Wrote and prepared college correspondence courses for a two-year college.
• Served as initial contact for Chinese students applying for and receiving scholarships
to study in evangelical schools in the West.
• Taught four levels of high school Spanish.
• Served as the in-house computer trainer, developing training manuals and
troubleshooting guides for new employees.
• Provided assistance and training in private-sector fund raising and proposal writing to
representatives of Hispanic community-based organizations.
Writing/Editing – Written/edited products include educational materials and college
curriculum and correspondence courses; books, magazine articles, and newsletters; grant
applications and proposals; brochures, annual and semi-annual reports, television scripts, and
marketing materials.
• Wrote, edited and proofread books, magazine articles, TV scripts and outlines,
reports, newsletters, marketing materials, brochures and fliers.
• Proofed final translated software instruction manuals using InterLeaf and RDM
computer programs in the documentation department of a software development company
where I was responsible for the quality control of English, Spanish, French, German,
Italian, and Portuguese books; this included integrating reports, screen captures, data
dictionary items, and glossaries with the final translated copy.
• Proofed and edited copy for annual benchmark reports on some of the nation's major
mutual funds.
Administration – Served as administrative assistant to a number of company heads,
providing executive-level assistance.
• Provided executive-level assistance to the leaders of several organizations.
