D. COURSE DESCRIPTION : Curriculum development is the process of selecting, organizing, executing and evaluating learning
experiences on the basis of the needs, abilities and interests of the learners and the nature of the
society or the community. It is a cooperative venture among teachers, supervisors, curriculum
experts, learners, parents and non-school profile. It is also a continuous process since everyone
can never exhaust the possibilities of improving the teaching-learning situation.

F. COURSE OBJECTIVES : At the end of the course, the graduate students should be able to:
a. get acquainted with the goals and objectives of elementary and secondary education
b. be familiar with a healthy and wholesome curriculum development that meets adequately the
varying requirements of child growth and development
c. know more about the different approaches to curriculum design
d. improve teaching-learning situations through the most effective technique
