Personal Statement
My career as a Clinical Nurse, I have ensured that quality clinical care is delivered to
residents by implementing, monitoring and prompting best clinical practice. I have
achieved this by working closely with the Residential Care Manager and other key
personnel involved in the health-care and welfare of residents. I have provided
supervision and guidance to Registered Nurses, OT, PT and Care staff, involved in the
provision of quality outcomes for residents.
I ensure Duty of Care is exercised in the performance of duties, and to function in
accordance with legislation and common law affecting nursing practice. I ensure the
provision of quality care to residents is in line with professional and ethical nursing
practice and the Aged Care Act. I ensure residents are receiving appropriate clinical
care by monitoring assessments and care plans are completed and evaluated
accurately and timely.
I have implemented clinical improvement with aid of Toolbox with RN/ENs and care
staff in the areas of continence, infection control and wound management to achieve
identified outcomes. I assist with completion of documentation accurately and timely
as required by the Accreditation standards and the Aged Care Funding (ACFI).
Should I be successful in securing the position I’m applying for, I have the confidence
to effectively work as a team with Residential Care Facility Manager, Registered
Nurses, Care Staff, other key personnel and the multidisciplinary team to ensure
quality care is delivered to care recipients. I am aware of the demanding nature of the
job but I feel that the skills I have acquired during my practice will enable me to make
a meaningful contribution to the team.
